True story of a cable car accident. Many people died but a Chinese couple held their child up and the child survived, parents died. The person who wrote this song, adopts the child. The song is from the prospective of the child seeing his parents alive for the last time.

This song was written based on a real-life tragic event : a cable car accident in China, 1999, which claimed the life of 14 tourists. In the cable car there was also a couple with their small child. When the cable car fell, they held the child in the air with their lasts efforts and hope that it would break the impact force for the child. The child indeed survived. The parents didn`t. Han Hong, chinese singer and songwriter, struck by the tragedy, she adopted the child. She also wrote "Daybreak" to commemorate the parents` sacrifice and hope for their child`s life. She wrote it as if from the child`s perspective. Dimash first sang "Daybreak" during "The Singer" competition. Han Hong gave him her blessing. He performed it beautifully, even though he was sick and had lost his voice. Later that year, 2017, back home in Kazakhstan after the competition, in his first huge solo concert (called 'Bastau') he performed "Daybreak" once more, while in good health. This was the result. The high register sections he included in his performance of this are meant to express the despair of the child. This was the song and performance that, for me, turned Dimash from an extremely interesting singer, into The singer that I appreciate the most. If you get a chance, watch the performance of this song on the I Am Singer comp in China 2017. There is some back story footage of Dimash arriving and saying he has lost his voice. You see him going to the hospital and getting injections in his throat. He manages to just about get through the performance, then loses his voice again. The doctor had said for him not to sing any high notes and after the show, he tells Dimash off but Dimash said they weren’t his high notes, lol.

These is the first song in which Dimash made me discover the beauty of the Chinese language.

On another note Rolling Stones India magazine is featuring Dimash in a recent issue. Funny how the different country magazines don't talk to each other. Dimash has been featured on the covers of Forbes Kazakhstan, Forbes China, Rolling Stones Kazakhstan and China several times along with other well known magazines around the world except USA versions. It's as if USA is intentionally ignoring Dimash due to the CBS fiasco in 2019 or so it seems.

This song tells a story of an orphan: A cable car at a scenic spot in Guizhou Province crashed in 1999, at that moment a couple used their hands hold up their two and a half years old child, so he was saved, but his parents died. Later, Hanhong adopted that child.

Me lleva a pensar en la voz de Dimash y el elemento terapéutico que supuestamente tiene en muchas personas. A menudo he comentado sobre la capacidad de Dimash para transmitir emociones profundas a través de su voz (incluso cuando existen barreras del idioma, Dimash parece capaz de transmitir el sentimiento vocalmente). Por los videos que he visto y los artículos que he leído, Dimash es un ser humano muy enfocado (¡obviamente talentoso!), que tiene un profundo sentido de conexión con las cosas simples de la vida: familia, fe, belleza, niños, amistades y respeto. (No digo que estas sean las únicas cosas que valora, pero parecen ser recurrentes). Dimash suele ser introspectivo, pero parece realmente una persona feliz, a pesar de algunas pérdidas bastante devastadoras en el camino. I remember hearing this on the news as it was happening. I had to go pick up my kids from school and was almost late because I was waiting to hear if the dad was OK, then I had to go and never knew what happened to the child until I heard Dimash sing this and learned about it. I had forgotten about it, then it all came back. The area where it happened is famous for its waterfalls.

El niño se salvó y fue a un orfanato, ese mismo año, Han Hong, una reconocida compositora y cantante en China, supo la historia, adopto al niño y escribió este tema para honrar el sacrificio de una pareja por su hijito, salvándolo Es muy triste.

Daybreak...touching story This song was written and sung for first time by Han Hong, one of the famous Chinese singer and songwriters. She wrote that it is based on a true story. At the moment that a cable car fell and crashed, the father tried his best to hold his son high. The two-year-old child survived, while his parents both died. Deeply touched by the story, Han adopted the child. She said she feels empathy with the boy, more than others, since she herself lost her father at the age of six.

At "I'm A Singer" (China 2017), Dimash was to present the song "Daybreak", sung for the first time in Mandarin, by Dimash. With sad lyrics, but based on a real Chinese story of a Chinese boy (Quon Yan), who, along with his family, suffered a cable car accident in Xingyi city in Guizhou province, where 52 people died, but the boy's parents they supported him with their hands and he survived, although his parents died. The song was written and composed by the boy's adoptive mother (Han Hong). In “I’m a Singer” 2017Dimash had a sore throat and sang with injections. The doctor said that if he sang high notes, he would never sing again... He sang! In his first big concert in Kazakhstan (Bastau 2018): he repeated the song (now fully curated) and gave an anthological performance!

Such a heartbreaking song and his emotional performance matches the frustration and extreme sorrow that would be felt by a child who watched their parents fall to their death.😢

As Dimash always changing languages, but always has strong message to convey, and looking at other reactors, can i recommend you to check subs before reacting? Then you don't get to read and listen at the same time. We want "War and Peace" before "The Story of One Sky" 😅

The reason is The Spring Festival Nauryz, Florida March 19 Central Park of the Orlando Florida Fair, Dimash and his parents lead the group of Kazakh artists who will participate. This song was written about a real-world, very tragic event that happened in China. There was a cable-car accident where the cable-car full of people ended up falling and everybody that stayed in it died when it hit the ground. There was a couple of parents who hoisted their little boy up and out of the car to a safe place just before the car fell, so the boy was the only survivor who had been in the car but both his parents died while saving him. The song is written from the orphaned boy's point of view. After finding out about the story, there was a songwriter who wrote the song and there was a woman who sang the song. The woman searched for and ended up finding and adopting the boy. He has many problems from not just PTSD but also survivors' guilt, plus he misses his parents (obviously). There is a version of the song that Dimash sang for his show in China. The video is on the normal channel for that show but there is a channel called Gloria Wu. She translated the long version of the video and edited stuff in so that everybody would know about the backstory of the song as well as the lyrics.

maybe see the whole story in the mv first to get the point. Dimash wrote the whole thing, music and script. (Many people reacting to the live performance first didn`t understand even a quarter of what and why). Then get blown away, again, by the intensity of the live performance.

Dimash sang this song for the first time in the "i am singer" contest in china, he lost his voice beforehand. He did everything possible to get his voice back, including shots into his vocalcords.
