(from 1824 to 1948)
The video begins with a brief info on #Assam and Dimasa Kachari jati in specific.
Then it takes to the Barak valley of Assam (#Silchar) where the history of Dimasa Kachari begins with the signing of the agreement between Britishers and the Dimasa Kachari king.
1824: On 6 March 1824 David Scott, Agent to the Governor General in North East Frontier entered into an agreement with Govindrachandra at Bardarpur. By this agreement Govindrachandra had to place his country under British protection and the Company undertook to protect him from external aggression.
1832:
* the East India Company annexed the Cachar plain on 14 August 1832.
* death of last Dimasa King Govindrachandra"
1854: Lord Dalhousie, the Governor General of India approved the proposal of annexation on 27th August 1853. Accordingly the territory of Tularam was finally annexed in 1854.
1859: Foreign Secretary of American Baptist Missionary Union prepared a report on the religious conversion of the hill people. Here it was concluded that the hill tribes were their last hope in Assam. The stream of Christian religion and civilization would flow to neighboring Bhutan, Tibet, Manipur and perhaps to Bihar through them.
1874:
* In 1874, the Governor General of India constituted the Chief Commissionership in Assam. Then the Scheduled District Act of 1874 was adopted for the Hills Areas of Assam.
* 1874 and the post of Superintendent was redesignated as the Deputy Commissioner and Mr. R. Stuart was the first DC of the District. "
1880: The Assam Frontier Tracts Regulation was adopted. This Act was enforced in North Cachar Hills on 1911 along with the Garo Hills, the Khasi and Jayantia Hills, the Naga Hills and the Mikir Hills.
1882: revolt of Sambhudhan Phonglosa
1883: After a year of Gunjung and Maibang encounter, Sambhudhan died on Feb 12, 1883.
1912: Presbyterian Church had established a chapel in 1912 at Haflong which played a pivotal role in spreading Christianity.
1918: Missionary started its first venture of St. Agnes Convent School at Haflong in the year 1918.
1921: In January 1921, the Governor General- in- Council declared the North Cachar Hills in Cachar district as a backward tract. As a result this area did not represent in the Assam Legislative Assembly. This area was placed under the direct administration of the Government.
1929: The AAKJS (All Assam Kachāri Juvak Sanmilloni) submitted a memorandum to the Simon Commission on 4 th January in 1929.
1935: In the Government of India Act 1935, the provision of Excluded Area and Partially- Excluded Area was inserted for the hills areas of Assam. Henceforth the North Cachar Hills was declared as an Excluded Area. The Excluded Area was administered by the Governor himself in his discretion where the ministers had no constitutional right to advise him in connection with its administration and no Act of the Federal or Provincial Legislatures could apply to this area without the prior consent of the Governor. The provision of Excluded Area was continued till the Independence of India in 1947.
1937: Muslim League under the leadership of Syed Muhammad Saadullah forms government in the Assam Province. Policies of the Muslim League unleash settlement of immigrants from todays Bangladesh.
1938: Subhas Chandra Bose becomes president of Congress. Knowing the critical situation unfolding in the undivided Assam, Subhas Chandra Bose comes to the state and take stock of the situation. Congress under the leadership of Gopinath Bordoloi comes to the power.
1944: Subhas Chandra Bose with Indian National Army was in a new avatar. On 7th April 1944, Revolutionary Dimasa Army in order to offer solidarity to the Azad Hind Fouz marched to Kohima. Revolutionary Dimasa Army was attacked. In that encounter Joya Thaosen lost her life while Arjun Langthasa was injured.
As the dates were coming near to the independence of India, many jatis in the northeastern part of India were putting up demand. The Dimasa intelligentsia too organised the people and formed a Tribal Council under the leadership of Hamdhanmohan Haflongbar as President and Desondao Hojai as Secretary.
India gains independence. The situation that India found itself could be understood in a public meeting addressed by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in 1948.

Frnz its hopeless to be united bcoz DIMASAS never accept the BODOS OF BRAHMAPUTRA VALLEY as their brothers ...I know the dirty mentality of the Dimasas.... Being a Bodos of Nagaon we are close to the DIMASA peoples and we know their attitude towards the Bodos. They always had problems in regards to the kachari kingdom.... So, they are not Dimasa....they are SWIMASA....
