I was blessed with a chance to listen this song live in vasantotsav 2022 by Rahul Deshpande... absolute treat to soul.

Excellent rendition by Rahul Despande .Sachin's portrayal of the character in the movie is exemplary. Some individuals have erroneously passed comments like he has over acted.The greatest. of great singers who have been awarded even BharatRatna make a lot of facial contortions and terrible gestures to strike the right chord and make the outcome powerful and satisfying. Hats off to Sachin without whom the film would have been dry and dull

+Lalitha Anantram Facial contortions are not the problem. I don't know whether you sing, but Sachin moves rather haphazardly in some parts here. Especially 1:30-35 and 2:17-19. I can't explain it, but such aggressive and haphazard upper body movement will actually ruin your song. Combine that with the general impression that he is over confident and I am not surprised at the comments. I do generally like his acting though.

+PristinePerceptions I do sing Hindustani as well as Carnatic classical and i thus say, by experience, that i cannot sing a single song without such "haphazard" body movements to strike the rightest note in the rightest way at the rightest time in the rightest bhaava. Sometimes the claimed -ruining-upper-body-movements are necessary for the song to be flawless.

सचिननी स्वतःचा जनमानसातील आदर टिकून राहील असं वर्तन पण ठेवणं गरजेचं नाही वाटत का ? मुंबई अँथम करताना त्यांची सारासार विचारक्षमता कुठे गेली होती ? कशाला लोकांना टीका करायची संधी द्यायची ? आपल्या वयाला - चित्रपटसृष्टीतल्या स्थानाला शोभतं का याचा तरी विचार करायचा ... त्याहीपुर्वी सतत मी मी करून प्रेक्षकांचं प्रेम ते गमावून बसले ... त्यामुळे आता लोकांना त्यांचा अभिनयही आवडेनासा झाला , त्यात चूका दिसू लागल्या.. लोकांची चूक नाही असं नाही पण हे सचिननी स्वतःच्या कर्माने ओढवून घेतलेलं आहे .

Sachin Sir’s acting is actually quite good in this movie contrary to what some people are saying in the comment section. Compared to some ‘not so good’ performances in recent films, this is more than good acting. I personally feel he acts better under someone else’s direction than when he is directing himself. I love this movie and can watch it over and over a 100 times.

Shankar Ehsaan and Loy are gems!

This was originally a Marathi musical play released in 1967 by the same name. If you search Katyar Kaljat Ghusali on KZread, you will find the natyageet from the original composer Pt. Jeetendra Abhisheki ji and Pt. Vasantrao Deshpande ji. The version by Pt Chandrakant Limaye ji is also amazing. Do check those too.
