It’s such a shame we have to settle for this as a new analog system… just remember the all-in-one of the 70s and 80s! So elaborate and feature-packed and such a good sound!

The infamous "Bargain Car Stereo" tape deck (like those made by KRACO) I have always hated them for they are the best at destroying tapes (they ate a lot of my favorite tapes as a kid/teen.) After it ate my favorite one I only would use mix tapes and copies of commercial tapes on the cheapest blank tapes. Overall I agree with you for someone new to media listening or casual listeners except if your just wanting it for the record/tape player. It's not due to the ceramic cart it's the clearance for the 12" records. If this was mainly used for 10"/7" records (especially 78s) then your good. Even though I upgraded to a AT-LP3BK turntable I have that hooked up to a Kinter K2024BT Mini Receiver (my PC runs off of the 5.0 Bluetooth.) I may be a lover of music, but a Audiophile I am not thankfully.

Good to see that RCA jacks are returning. I never trusted myself doing the bare wire connection…too easy to mess up the connections.

Bro nothing's going to happen if you do speaker wire wrong. Worst case scenario is it doesn't work and you mess with some wires for a few minutes, the modularity is definitely worth it.

Like you said, this is very entry level with some good features and some annoying ones! If you compare it to the Victrola all in one players, they have style and better function!

Struggled to get the Cassette working and decided to refer to KZread and found this site. Have always been used to taking good care of this type of equipment and didn't know that the Cassette had be be "more of Less" treated like it needs. Thought that I was going to returned to Amazon. Thank you for your advice and presentation. Better than the skimpy manual.

It is sad that all in ones have been reduced too this. They used too be not sooooo bad. We All had them when we were young. We couldn't afford what Dad had, so All in one it is. That's when you cared about hearing your favorite band, and not too worried about the gear. NiCE video. Greetings from IOWA!!!!

Thing is no-one wants them except as a novelty. Let's face it, a pair of Echo Dot speakers will do everything the average buyer wants from a sound system in 2023, have better sound quality than the typical cheap all in one (now or in 1985), use up far less space and cost a quarter of the price of something like this. A collection of obsolete physical formats (and that includes SD card MP3 players really!) isn't something that's going to sell in any quantity.

In other all-in-one units with similar cassette mechanisms, the playing improves over a little bit of time. It's almost like it needed to be "broken in" for some reason, although I am not sure why?

If yall want an ALL IN ONE system that kicks ass I highly recommend The Teac LP-R550USB. I've had it a few years now and LOVE IT. I have mine hooked into my very powerful onkyo receiver to really make it JAM. Can't say enough good things about it. It's My baby. It records ANYTHING onto CD 💿 also. No more losing those great U Tube concerts that always seem to disappear when you want to listen.

13:59 - does it really say "COMPACT DISC DIGITAL AUDI_A_" instead of AUDI_O_?!? So either a typo or maybe it is not compatible and they could not use the original CD logo and changed it. Strange. I've never seen that before done anywhere.

Maybe the needle got crooked because there's no dampening on the tone arm? Perhaps slamming down like that wrecked it. Either way there really should be dampening.

The Sunwin turntable is a decedent of the BSR/Capehart units we had in the 1970s. As I recall, those didn't have dampening, either.

I noticed that your 45rpm adapter kind of sits very tightly on the spindle. Now with a lot of those cheaper models the spindle does not rotate, while the platter does. This might be an issue: your records spin around a non-moving spindle. With a 12 inch album that would hardly be a problem, but with that adapter (with a relatively large contact area around) on a 7 inch single (with a relatively lower mass spinning) it might be that the record gets slowed down. That said: the arm is loose.

OK, not all cueing levers always had damped descent. I would rather lower the lever carefully by hand than have it stick and foul the arm movement and have to press it down. In the old days, my BSR did not have “viscous damped cueing”. But it was a longer lever and easier to control. Once. an instructor in a music appreciation class flicked the lever down on a similar BSR in a Sony compact, when he was used to the Dual in the larger fixed systems in the lecture halls. As the stylus took 2 hops across the record, he uttered in a droll tone, “My, THAT was subtle !” From then on, I called that “Vicious (un)damped cueing”.

I would have one, but I wouldn't use the speakers. I probably would use the speakers along with a separate amplifier. I would connect it through the speaker RCA output of the wee record player all in one to the amplifier. I have done this before, as long as you have the volume of the record player at a reasonable level the amplifier is happy. If you use RCA splitters you could keep the supplied speakers that come with the record player to listen without the amplifier. The amplifier allows you to adjust the tone of the record player and also gives you a better sound. But if you don't want to use the speakers supplied with the record player, you won't need RCA splitters. I would definitely recommend connecting this wee record player all in one to a Moukey mamp 1 amplifier. You won't be disappointed!

To me, 24:46 looks like something that should've never left the factory. And that's the 'better one'? BTW, is that a thread of vinyl the stylus has shaved off the record?

Good product for the money. Sounds good. Confusing for how to hook up other speakers as it uses a sterion cable output rather than rca, but sound should be better with better speakers. Other 2 issues I also saw, clearance of Turntable, stylus arm but not insurmountable. Overall pretty good & pleasant surprises.

I used a Digitnow suitcase for a year until the LP60XBT became too much a temptation to turn down. The Digitnow was OK though, it has to be said, it served a purpose. However, once I played the soundtrack to Rocky IV on the LP60XBT, sorry Digitnow, you cannot hold a candle to it. This one here looks satisfactory to me though, not a bad effort from Digit.

These cheap side-mount cassette players take a few full cassettes being played through before the sound quality seems to get better; usually 3 to 5 tapes' worth of playing time. And these side-mount players are not very strong. If you have a cassette tape that is wound too tight or is sticking, it may not play at all.

I don't know. If I were in the market for an inexpensive record player, I would steer clear of such brands as Vocsun, Angels Horn, 1-by-1, Digitnow!. I would go with Crosley or Victrola. The modern Crosley has as it's parent company Modern Marketing Concepts (as you know) and they began selling record players in 1992. I'm not sure about the modern iteration of Victrola. Their parent company is Innovative Technology, and I think that they first started selling record players in the mid-teens. They both have some winners and some losers, but at least Crosley and Victrola learned something in the process. In any case, have a good Sunday.

    "compact disc digital audia"...really?

  • @Damaniel3
    @Damaniel3 Жыл бұрын

Sadly, these products will never be truly good. You absolutely could make a quality version of this product (get better speakers, a proper Tanshin cassette mechanism and high quality motor, add a turntable with better speed control and a nicer cartridge/stylus, add support for more digital file formats and a nicer overall UI), but that would drive the price up into the $300-$400 range instead of the $100 range. Audiophiles would scoff at a product like this no matter the price, and once you're too much up over $100-$150, casual buyers are going to be reluctant to buy as well, leaving just a midrange market of people who aren't audio snobs but want reliability and decent sound quality - and said market is probably too small to convince companies to make the higher quality product.
