Similar to the control + z one, I draw on my iPad so I always try and zoom in on the paper then realise it's definitely paper.

As someone who used to scoff at digital and thought of it as cheating, the pain and suffering I feel now using my art software and pad is punishment for talking shit.

i have one of my pen buttons set to undo so sometimes when im drawing traditionally i just reflexively tap my pencil and then just die

Have you checked your stylus settings in the program? You might be able to turn off the the programs recognition of finger movement, so that it'll only recognize the stylus. If that doesn't work, there are those 2-fingered graphic artist gloves made specifically for this reason.

Hand cramps, dots on the screen not on my layers, wrong layer... "where's the button you hit to make that?" "no I drew that all myself" "no way, you had to have used a button" "THERE IS NO BUTTON"

One other digital art problem would be when you're working on an artwork without even saving your progress and you computer decide to turn off, reboot, or freeze on you.

you need to stretch! before and after drawing, and if it's a long drawing session you need to take stretch breaks. that's a symptom of a condition which name i cannot remember for my life, but you may end up needing surgery for it if you don't take care of your wrists. stretch wrists, arms, shoulders and neck to warm up. there are many excercises online, you can search in tumblr or youtube take care! :)

You can use a free software (I mentioned a few in the class) and you can use your computer mouse or laptop touchpad to start out ^_^ that's what I did. It isnt the easiest way but you dont have to spend money to try digital art :)

Try GIMP (its free) and as long as your wanting a TABLET not a DRAWING MONITOR... You cant see on the tablet, you draw on a black screen while staring up at your monitor. These can be as cheap as $50 for brand new, even with Wacom if you get older ones. A Drawing monitor will run you 200+ for a small one and it will be a off brand. I've personally had my wacom tablet for over 10 years, it still works... I am taking a $400 plunge to get a Huion 20 in monitor though since I started doing commissions full time, i've heard they are a great off brand that can compete with wacoms cintq... Maybe one day I can afford to get two grand for one of those... Till then I can understand the lack of funds... If you cant get one from Amazon then just wait for a 50% one item at Michaels and you can order one from them.

I do all my digital art on GIMP, with a mouse, and I saw Jazza draws do a review on free and cheap art programs, and it's really indepth, so you can figure out which is best for your needs by watching him. Drawing with a mouse is a pain in the butt, but I've been doing it for 10+ years, and I am getting better. No pressure though, and resist the urge to purchase anything from me (not that I think you will, but...) I've not been well enough to update my health decline for awhile and can't actually do digital art at the moment.

I used my mouse to draw, and then invested in a cheap small tablet! You cqn download A LOT of free and amazing softares, like GIMP, Paint.net, paint tool sai (it's not for free but can easily be found for free) and much more!

I once spent SIX HOURS on a drawing. I went to go to the bathroom, and came back to my little cousin playing games on my tablet, and I didn't save my drawing. I litterly had to tell myself that you can't throw hands with an 8 year old. What's worse is when I tried to tell my parents they took her side saying that "I should have saved" and that it's my fault. Since then I have been saving my drawings every hour and have 2 passwords on my tablet 😂

BUT MY COMPUTER BROKE ITSELF AND DELETED IT ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE COMPUTER!!! I nearly died that day lol. I redrew it 2 other times due to technical difficulties. The linart did look better than the first but the shading wasn't near as detailed ;_;.

I use an iPad to draw and I often do art late into the night. Unfortunately I keep colouring when my screen has a night time filter on it so everything is coloured with a yellow tint XD I then have to recolour everything

as a noob digital artist i lay it down on the tablet and then weird stuff happens and i get so confused.

I can relate to all of these XD Luckily i recently found out that if i draw on the background layer accidentally i can just drag it up and switch it with a blank layer

You know when you’re working on a project with a lot of pieces and you have to transfer it to another computer but all the pieces are in different stages and you have to tunnel through the fetid depths of every last goddang file location to find the most recent version of every piece? ISN’T IT JUST MAGICAL?

You could try a used 2014 Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. it comes with an S Pen, and you can download some really goo drawing a painting programs from Google Play, like ArtRage, or Infinite Painter. Look up the reviews for it as an artist's tablet, they're actually pretty good. The tablet will prob cost around $100 now. That can get you started.

Chloe Rose Art No programs. Chromebook can only have apps that are specifically designed and approved by Google applied to them. The best you can get is a downgraded PhotoShop that you still have to pay a lot for. Drivers, ports, and add ons don't really work because you can't install software onto them due to the entirety of a Chromebook's functions being on the Cloud. So even if I had a tablet, I would not be able to install any of it's drivers, even if I downloaded them from the company's website. Just kinda stuck for now.

Whenever I draw traditionally and make a mistake, I instinctively tap the top of the paper with my pencil for the undo button. Every. Time.

Thanks Chloe!!! But seriously too real!!! I'm studying animation as a freshman in college and I'm taking intro to digital painting. I took digital design in high school but 2d work is not my strong suit and a tablet is very new to me. But getting better!!!

I draw digital on my iPad sometimes with ibisPaintX, it is really good free program. For my Birthday I got a iPad drawing pen,( before that was using stylists from the dollar store, but I broke both mine and my mom’s. )But with in 4 months I broke it and had to draw with my finger which I have gotten good at. I was also used my sisters old drawing pen but then I broke it. One day I tried to zoom in with my fingers on paper but then I realized I was not digital drawing. For Christmas I got a new really good drawing pen and I have yet to break it!

I’m officially following your classes on SKILLSHARE!!! I can’t wait to learn more and new digital art techniques!!!

I don´t know how people have problems with layers. I always have a specific way to order them and nothing is a problem. People that have this problem should use folders more. And put them into another folders... you get the point I guess.

for me it's usually a matter of drawing so much on so many different layers that I get really into drawing and often will forget to switch back and forth between layers, then only later realize I've done it. Nothing to do with organization so much as trying to be more disciplined at remembering to switch back to the layers before getting too into it! Haha

You no what I'm getting one in 2 days so this helps a lot thank for the advise I love drawing so much PLUS my art teacher uses digital art to do thanks😇😇😇

I'm currently in the Learning to draw phase. And after I draw something on my Ipad I like to make an additional layer to circle certain things that bother me. And you probably see where this is going, but when I draw on paper I accidentally do that too sometimes, and yeeeaaaahhh.

The drawing on the wrong layer is super relatable for me as a Photographer when I'm editing on the wrong layer!

I feel your pain I literally have an easl and acrylic paints but for some reason, my white paint ran out fast. I want to buy some but im too poor 😭

@@remmad1589 Ah yes, the ever long curse of the white paint. I always have to buy and extra jar of them just so that I'll have enough to last me.
