I'm glad Grandis gets some more support. There is so many decks that don't get to continue to be played because they are so outdated.

It's a little bit, not much but it does help in some regards to what we were missing before. Being forced to use X-Antibody though is great against decks that would try to strip your sources but de-digivolve? BAD

@@DIGI-PANDA Agreed. De-digivolving can be so bad, especially when you build the perfect stack.

Okay now that the video is actually live, I really appreciate you posting this decklist! I think a lot of people will just skip over it because Tyrant is newer and therefore better, and because it's very likely better suited into the coming meta. I think that's fair! However, as a more casual player who _really_ likes specifically Kuwagamon and its line, this deck looks like an absolute delight to play and tinker with! My deckbuilding skills are mid at best so I always get excited when someone who's got some certifieds does something a little out of the way that I can latch onto and work on myself!

I'm not a deck building expert by any means, but I do like to explore older decks and see if there's something in current sets that elevate it's status.

Grandis is my favourite deck of all time, but its matchups are very polarizing and there is just so, so much right now that it doesn't feel justifiable playing it. A good Nume MU does not make it worth the atrocious Magna X, Imperial, SecCon, Tyrant, Red Hybrid, Ukko Rush, 7GDL, etc MUs. I'm always on the look-out for when this deck can sneak back in (last time I seriously pulled it out was for Nats due to it's great Anubis MU and it would have gone 7 wins 1 tie if it had a better pilot than my sick arse), and the fact that they still print decks like Nume gives me hope that there will be another format for the Biggest Bug, but BT16-BT17 ain't it chief.

It's also difficult for me to even say that Numemon is overrepresented right now because I don't even have the numbers to back it up mainly that the numbers aren't even available. We get top 16 breakdowns but that leaves so much conjecture on the actual playing field.

A lack of protection makes me feel like this deck is prone to strong ace digimon that will undo all the work to build the stack. It also feels very one dimensional and is reliant on deleting digimon in battle and there are a ton of ways to protect from that now. I use grandis as a supplementary piece in my tyrant deck. Hopefully we get a new one in the near future. The extra DP can def make this deck do some major damage, but it feels like it’s stuck in the past and insects are opting for a completely different play style going forward

Battle protection is definitely one of the biggest ones. I feel like the only decks that have this advantage are Melga, yellow decks that utilize barrier and armor purge. But in some test games against Numemon, it felt fine.

@@DIGI-PANDA for sure. it can pick apart a nume board with minor issues(as long as monzae x didn’t hurt it the prior turn)

What are your thoughts on incorporating BT8 Digimon into insectoid decks? I think it synergizes well especially with BT15 Tentomon, BT16 Wormmon, and EoT Motimon.

The extra DP buffs could be useful. Largely I went the basic route because the extra sources are needed for Grankuwagamon. The searchability is also built in. Unfortunately, because Grandis isn't free trait, it makes the Wormmon engine not as efficient because at that point you're just playing Imperialdramon :/

@@DIGI-PANDA I think it's fine that Grandis isn't free; for one thing BT16 Worm only allows you to digivolve to level 4 out of the trash, and you can also digivolve to an insectoid instead of free trait, making all of your level 4s viable.

the bug counterpart

The deck feels solid in this format. Just very fragile like bugs. Ran into vike/zudo aces and everything was just done. And no recovery from that.

Completely valid! By all means, the current format is very dominating in just a few decks.
