I have one comment: in order to avoid confusion for statistics for beginners , conventionally it has been taken X for independent, and Y for dependent, some times you interchange when you write the formula of regression. always we estimate the dependent based on given number for independent. always Y= comes head of the formula, not the back.

I would not recommend you any specific book because different authors have different style of writing and preferences vary from person to person. But yes you can go for any good statistics book. Just remember one thing, that you can always use internet for more information and clarity over a specific topic as no book can provide you all the content. I hope this helps 🙂
