I'm studying in olevel and in olevels books Christopher n Prescott its mention that carbon dioxide is a molecule

So a molecule is basically just 1+ atoms from one single type of element joined together But compounds are 2+ different atoms from completely different elements joined together to form water, or salt, or carbon monoxide, etc, correct??

Namaste sir, As you mentioned in your video, molecule is made up of same atom .i.e. o and o we say oxygen molecule. But in case of H2O (water) we call it as "Molecule", Why ?

Some important errors in this video. Molecules are groups of nonmetals bonded together. A molecule can be an element or a compound. But not all compounds are molecules. Covalent compounds are molecules, but Ionic compounds are NOT molecules, they are networks.

Molecules are not always made up of same type of atoms e.g CO2 is also molecule but it is made up of different atoms molecules may be homo atomic or hetero atomic not all molecules are made up of same atoms

H2O is both a molecule and a compound! Water consists of two eleemts ( Hydrogen and Oxygen) which makes it a compound, and since it is composed of more than one atom, that makes it a molecule as well.

Molecule= having two or more(same/different)atoms Compound=having two or more different atoms..... So all compounds are molecules but all molecules are not compound

Sir your defination is incompleted as i known molecule is a group of two or more than two atom of the same or different elements that are chemically bonded together.....look at the words same and diferent ... so h20 ,CH4, CO2 etc all are molecule as well as compound both...
