Diesel Minibike Cold Start

This bike was built with leftover parts we had around the shop. The gearing is way off and there is still work to be done with the throttle linkage. In future videos we hope to have everything dialed in. Once we feel comfortable with the gearing we will be installing a turbo on this little diesel to see what happens.
Cold start on a snowy morning here in Louisiana. The Chinese diesel started first pull no problem. We are waiting on the correct sprockets to be delivered to properly gear the minibike. When this video was recorded the gearing was for a top speed of 50mph. This little 4hp engine luggs down drastically when of the pavement. We will be cutting the gear ratio in half to see what happens.

Can you take off without rolling coal? I really like this engine I just don’t want to roll coal every time I hit the gas. Great Video!
those bikes are notorious for cracks where the engine bolts, might want to make sure its bolted tight. Looks like it's loose a bit. maybe put some thick fender washers on the bottom.
