Thankyou.I always copied him.I even walked around with news or magazine clippings of Maradona just to have a look at him.During Italy 1990 we were all glued to the tv it was our first live broadcast on tv.I sacrifised my grade 11 exams and failed.I absorbed myself day and night with soccer playing between broken cars using every possible space and watching him play before we would take on opposition in a soccer game.He brought a revolution to soccer.

One big thing to notice is the savage tackles going into Maradona. Just slow down the one at 0:49 guy comes in to break his legs, he scrambles up, crosses, his team score. Those bone crunching tackles are right through. He played in a violent era. If he was playing today, its almost a non-contact sport now. Its scary to think of the amount of goals and assists he would have.

That’s absolutely true. For referees to get a yellow card out of their pocket back then you needed to be playing with an axe in one hand and a combat knife in the other. They didn’t care.

Is like have five players in one man. All over the pitch, in any function Diego was perfect. What a vision of the game, he can play in the center circle throwing long balls, in both wings kicking the eferic in the exact place, like a ten doing playmaking for the team or dribbling like hell, like a eigh, like a defensive mid, in any place you can imagine. Thanks for this vid. Looking at the most important gift that a great footballer can have and showing how Maradona had it in greater abundance tha anyone else is really valuable. 35, 40 meters assists, one after the other. You may wonder, what would have been of him if he had people around him to keep him out of coke and drugs and alcohol. His career would’ve been much longer and who knows what his achievements would be. I remember when he came back to Argentina to play, he was very overweight and completely out of shape. Still above average.

Maradona is by far the best player i saw. And you can observe in this video how he (almost) always played by himself, alone, cause his teammates were ordinary to mediocre players.

I don't think that's fair -though he often made them look mediocre by comparison.

This is the best Maradona video I've seen. Couldn't watch it in one go, as it's 43min, but there's so much wing play by Maradona shown here. Yes I think he is head and shoulders above Messi, purely by the ability and contribution to his team shown here. Messi would have misplaced many of these passes, and many more he never would have had the awareness to make at all

@@seds94 I don't think number of goals scored is a conclusive measure of the quality of a player. It is a very good quality to be able to score but the number of goals is a function of the team and the opposition as well as the player themself. I use the "eye test" because Maradona played in arguably much weaker teams than Messi has

Hay un grupo selecto de grandes jugadores (Pelé, Messi, Zidane, Cruiff, Garrincha, etc...) y luego está Maradona muy por encima de todos ellos, a otro nivel . Muchos no pueden digerirlo y lo niegan. Les molesta que un "drogadicto" sea el mejor. Los que tenemos ojos "limpios" y podemos gozar de una mirada clara, libre de prejuicios, sabemos que Maradona ha sido el mejor y ya vamos adivinando con tristeza que no va a salir otro igual. No veremos ya nunca otro tan bueno.

Acabo de comentar que para mi el video no corresponden a jugadas de playmaker, se trata de centros que cualquier buen extremo haria, pero antes de este vi uno igual, solo eran pases finales no construcción de jugadas, pero si vi lo que dices, en 1 min vi como paracía que esos balones los controlaba hasta yo parecía que se dormía en el aire antes de llegar al pie de quien recibia, eso si no lo tiene Messi, o sea, estamos hablando de la mas pura perfección y Messi da 1000 pases y 990 todos son a favor del movimiento de quien recibe, desde el mas simple al mas arriesgado favorecen el sentido de la jugada y eso solo el lo hace en tanto volumen, pero no le he visto esa perfección en pases largos, diría que mas cerca estuvo Ronaldinho en ese aspecto. también daba pases que parecía que el tenia una cuerda invisible para frenarlos en el momento justo.
