Not necessarily true. He cut once to 146 and weighted in at 161 for the 65 weigh in so he didn’t have to cut to 165 he was already under.

He did not cut 3 times in 24 hours lmfao, his weight class got changed 3 times. And Peyton talbott a 135er weighs in at 161 the day of his fight, so I’m gonna assume lopes is around the same. ige had to weigh in at 165 hours before the fight so I’m gonna assume they were around the same weight. I promise you lopes was probably gonna fight anyone, he did a short weight cut and wanted to be paid. Ige is the top dog for this imo, he already had a fight coming up against a way easier opponent.

Diego is a MONSTER and deserves all the respect he is getting….But learning English would serve him so well.

Diego - 2 week notice fight (no real fight camp ), in 2 days he went from 145 weight cut , to 155lb , changed again to 165lbs , and changed his opponent with a different fight style 3 hrs before his walkout vs Ige - 3 month fight camp that had a fight in 1 or 2 weeks (basically done with his fight camp), 3 hour notice, and he did NOT have to cut any weight ... GREAT fight and respect to both fighters but great WIN for Diego after such a chaotic 2 weeks

2 weeks notice, assigned 2 different opponents, accepted the second one 2 hours prior, and cutting down to 146 only to fight at 165.... We really can't take nothing away from that fight

I think either Ortega or Yair next is the right move for Lopes. Volk deserves a title rematch after the reign he had, even if Topuria loses the title to Max and we see a 4th fight between him and Volk.

Ortega doesn't deserve this fight anymore, sure he had a fever (supposedly) but he waited to tell lopez the weight was changing AFTER he knew lopez had cut all the weight, ortega would have knew he wasnt making the weight and probably stopped cutting/ never cut to begin with, scummy move not twlling your opponent asap, sure it's smart on brians part letting his opponent drain himself but doesnt make it any less scummy
