Who’s Borsnan?

To me this is the best Bond movie of all time. It had everything, Pierce Brosman, Halle Berry, Rosamund Pike, great supporting cast, Madonna, some fun villains which I really enjoyed, some over the top script and action scenes, a bit of camp and a title song that was way ahead of time and sounds fresh today. I fcking loooove this movie

The only explanation for this casting choice: Producer 1: We've got a nice list here of some top notch actresses to play Verity Producer 2: Ummm, yeah. I've had to promise that role to, .. well .... ummm ... Madonna. Producer 1: Jesus Phil, you gotta get that gambling problem under control.

Now that I've learned the actor who plays Graves is Maggie Smith's son I can't unsee it.

I distinctly remembering laughing out loud in the theater when I seen Madonna on screen, I guess doing the theme song wasn't enough vanity for her.

I liked Madonna in this film and in Dique Tracy.

This movie is a little better than people give it credit for

Brosnan still killed it as Bong but the film is one of the worst Bond films ever made alongside Spectre.

Something I notice about DAD and TWiNE is that both films put more effort into the backstory of the film’s villainous Bond Girl in comparison to the main/good Bond Girl. In DAD we learn Jinx is NSA and is bad luck and that’s pretty much it while Miranda went to school with Colonel Moon, was an Olympic athlete, worked as a double agent, etc. which all made Miranda’s betrayal sting all the more . It’s kind of odd that the traitor gets all this background while the ally gets the bare minimum

There is nothing wrong with Madonna’s cameo here. I think that most of the negativity toward it comes from people who just do not like Madonna.

Even as a kid I thought this film was as ridiculous. Casino Royale saved this franchise.

The early Connery ones are fantastic ("Dr. No", "From Russia with Love", "Goldfinger", some love "Thunderball"), Roger Moore has three great ones: "Live and Let Die", "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "For Your Eyes Only"; the Timothy Dalton films are highlights in the series, especially "Licence to Kill" - but that's my opinion. Brosnan's only acceptable one is "GoldenEye" and most people would agree with me on that. Many will say that "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" with George Lazenby is one of the best of them all. Even tough I love the novel, I can not accept Lazenby's portrayal.

I love Sean Connery, but sometimes I can't help but think he's a bit overrated. But I do enjoy his earlier films (even if Goldfinger is perhaps the most overrated Bond film ever). You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever are the ones where he really started to show his age, especially the latter. George Lazenby's solo take in On Her Majesty's Secret Service was actually not that bad. It's just a pity that he left after only one movie; I think with refinement and time, he could've been an amazing Bond. I grew up with Sir Roger Moore's Bond, and he is my favorite Bond. I point to Live and Let Die, The Spy who Love Me, and For Your Eyes Only as his best. For the record, I find The Man with the Golden Gun and Moonraker to be okay, if only because of Christopher Lee as Scaramanga for the former. But Octopussy is the one where Moore truly began to show his age, and A View to a Kill is just.... a serious low blow IMO. A pity that he ended his Bond tenure with THAT film. On the matter of Timothy Dalton.... I honestly prefer The Living Daylights over Licence to Kill. I'm not sure why, but it's probably because I like Kara Milovy, and it had a good subversion in Pushkin, and I do think Licence to Kill is sometimes seem a little too dark for me, and this is coming from someone who enjoys Daniel Craig's Bond. And with Pierce Brosnan, GoldenEye's by far his best film. Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough was okay, but they had some flaws (although I do think their villains are pretty unique, especially in regards to The World is Not Enough). However, IMO Die Another Day is simply a piss poor film, and it's at the bottom of my Bond tier list along with Quantum of Solace.

Most are, I'd say. Tastes and opinions vary, but there are thrilling, fun, and entertaining films in each actor's portrayal. Many mentioned already. I'm a roger moore fan myself, though objectively I consider connery to be the best if you're looking for the most iconic portrayal. With the films as a whole, 60s and 70s bond take the cake for me. Mid-late 80s was transitional, and the 90s weren't bad

This is by far the best Bond movie of all time. In my opinion, it is the best movie ever made. It tops Skyfall for sure. Only the fact that the opening title sequence ran as the movie was progressing, is enough to make it a masterpiece. Madonna is also at her best. Lovely performance as a fencing instructor in black. Her song works so well with the torture sequence. Danny Kleinman created his best and most fantastic titles to date (women in fast - forward motion undergoing electroshocks, women made of lava with hair made of fire, scorpions, superimposotion of diamonds over a tortured Bond, female figures swimming inside a can of water where Bond's head was placed during the torture, the Scorpion woman getting transformed into a female figure with a lava body and hair made of fire, Bond getting tortured inside a female ice figure). An extremely futuristic movie (ice palace, invisible car). I loved the car chase scene. Very unique concepts in film history were contained in this film : the opening of the movie in North Korea, the gene therapy concept, the Iceland sequences (I still wonder how they managed to create this huge wave where Bond was surfing during his escape from the ice palace during daytime. I had no idea that it was computer generated, until I watched the behind-the-scenes featurette). Mind - blowing plot twist. This movie achieved the impossible : its futuristic cgi effects, its unique plot and the heartbreaking acting makes it the most powerful and perfect movie ever. I also have to point out the multilayered flashback scene where Bond was tortured in black and white, as he was controlling his heart rate. David Arnold (the music composer) also at his best. The piano edition of the Bond theme used in the love scene with Miranda Frost as well as in the Hong Kong hotel sequence makes me excited every time I listen to it. Well done Lee Tamahori. You are my best Bond film director. You managed to surpass Terence Young, John Glen and Martin Campbell. Thanks to the James Bond promotional department for uploading this memorable scene between two legends: Madonna and Pierce Brosnan.

@@aryankaushik93 As a Daniel Craig Bond fan, I'll say my opinion: I think they're equally bad. DAD is too reliant on CGI special effects that weren't even that good (example: TSUNAMI SURFING), while Quantum of Solace, the turmoil from the writer's strike aside, is still a bore to get through.

Eh, Golden Gun is okay, because of Christopher Lee as Scaramanga. As for Quantum, I think it's just as bad as this movie is, and the only thing that DAD has advantage of is, ironically, the theme song, because Madonna's theme at least has a catchy beat and sets itself in a different direction than most Bond themes (even if the lyrics get pretty ridiculous); AWTD is just mediocre all the way around.

Honestly, the very least I can say for die another day is that’s it’s not boring, there’s still really fun action sequences like the hovercraft and car chase or the sword fight. the worst bond film in my opinion is the man with the golden gun. Whenever I watch that movie I’m either bored, underwhelmed, or outraged.
