Additional Context: If I recall correctly, Kusovai was regarded as the finest swordsman in the Covenant, and his skill was retained despite the infection. So Rtas really is an S tier badass

Never thought about it, but it makes sense that Kusovai wouldn't lose his swordsmanship skills even after being infected. The flood used him to learn how to be a Sangheili sword master.

Bro is a legend; I'm actually rather disappointed that he didn't even get so much as a mention in Halo 4.

This guy was literally my favorite character. And that was before I knew he had a name and any lore. He was just "Shipmaster" to me

That's my favorite part about them. Makes the name "Elite" fit so well. It's one of the things I didn't like about h4's elites. No elegance at all. I haven't played the ones beyond that yet, so I can't judge them.

Interesting that a shipmaster fights on the ground rather than staying in space but Elite's have a honor code and try to die fighting a good fight I suppose

I just notice now that in H2A Cinematics he doesn't have Green Eye's but in Gameplay he does

My favorite part of the sangehlii that’s not anything lore related is that the developers managed to make a humanoid alien that still felt very alien and dissimilar to humans

It's worth noting that the suffix "ai" on a Sangheili surname indicates mastery of the sword.

Such a cool badass character! Love Rtas! Wish we could see him, Arbiter, and the rest of the friendly elites! You got to know them over the series and with them being gone so long, i feel a piece of the halo charm has been missing. A hole that has persisted too long. 😅😔

Also, only a true badass earns a nickname like "half-jaw" In real life military nicknames are usually something embarrasing or some sort of "in-joke" that only certain people will understand. Half-jaw might be cryptic if you don't see Rtas, but it's immediately understood what his nickname is referencing if you know Rtas or have met or seen him. It's the literal equivalent of a dude losing his hand in combat and being given a mechanical replacement and the nickname "iron fist", there's no mistaking that he IS the motherfucker in the room.

Games need to make characters lije this again. Infibite did a pretty good job with the bosses but none of them really have the backstory like Rtas. A lot of other games and shows just dont give other than main characters any story though

I miss these Majestic Honorable Elites, Halo wars 2 was great and saved halo (Without it The only story wed have would be Cortanas Rebellion) but i hate now halo is just about a Handful of brutes on The Rings.
