That was an epic climb back up through the field,since you went full time your race craft and race management have gone up quite a few notches but most impressive of all is your love of GT7 and how your sense of fair play really stand out.but the way after spinning twice not an excuse to be heard and went for it, that's one for the archives 😎
That was epic. Having the spin at the start made for a much better video! Gotta love that smirk when you regained first place.
What a Win brother. Lovely tip with the battery harnessing. Thank you.🔥 👍🏼
This was absolutely unreal.. Master-case performance, Rory!!
First to Last to First and consistent lap. What a race. Mega Race. GG Rory
Good information to know. I’ll be using this. Thanks Rory
Clinical, well done. Regen is everything, great work great recovery.
What a race and what a comeback! I feel for the other guys... Same car, wondering how the hell he's doing this... 🤣
I was leaning all over the shop as you caught first place. I rarely do that when I'm in control of the car. Great race.
Some of the best driving I've seen you do
Enjoying the highlights as to busy to watch the live streams. Keep it up fella 👍🏻
The best driving I've ever seen from you!
This appears to have been tweaked in 1.2* patch. I remember Toyota Cup Gr1 Le Mans, and next Nations Cup Friday was Gr1 Le Mans again (where people took the GR010 or the 918) - that was on v1.15. There - as a LMP1-HY fan - I was well aware of electrical-energy management. I buggered that race 'cause ToyotaCup I did on the gamepad, while Nations was my 1st on the Thrustmaster... But nowhere was my out-the-corner advantage THIS BIG, like it is here.
Outstanding. Prolly a lap ahead without all the shenannigans at the start!
Quality comeback! Way to keep your head down and clutch the win
Well done Rory great racing! I wish I was as skilled as you especially in these gr1 cars, hopefully I can start learning this technique soon as possible 😊

Such a good race! Great driving mate
cracking comeback mate well done, good little method = )
An unintentional last-to-first challenge. Nice!
Thanks Rory. I knew this was possible, just didn't know how to do it. I wish I'd known this technique before the Nations Cup race just gone.
Thanks for the tip and informing video. Improved my time from 1:27:5 to 1:24:9, for me that's more then ok.Keep it uo
Great Info and Race!!!
Riding the break worked in gt sport for this car also. I learnt it from watching a fraga live stream at Sarthe.
Can someone explain the technique he was employing that the others weren't? Many thanks

@ Yeah but it's not obvious to a beginner like me unless you know what you looking for. So by putting the brake on earlier the Kers start charging earlier for the straight? But he is still reaching decent speed because he still has the throttle down? A lot to understand for the untrained you see?

@ This is the silliest comment on this video. "Seems useless don't do it cause I've already made up my mind that I cant do it if i tried" is basically what you just said. FYI, this is simple as fuck and not hard at all. If your normal braking point is the 100m mark, then at 200m got 15% on the brake, and once at the 100m board continue on as you normally would. The ONLY thing you need to learn is how to get as little brake input as possible. It took a total of 10 minutes to learn enough to give you a massive edge, and every race I'm getting better and better at applying smaller amounts of brake. This is not hard and you 100% should do this. Lazy ass people these days ffs.

@@bones1800 I was wondering what he was doing too. I didn't ask and didn't care actually until he used a journalist technique to make people curious. I just wanted him to explain what he made me curious about, not spend a bunch of time figuring out what is going on.
Wonderful race from last to p1
Mate, that was mad. Your spin seemed to put you in the "zone". I try to drag the brake whilst still on throttle, but somethings not working for me. More practice methinks. Excellent driving. Brilliant video. Well deserved 1st place. 🏎️
This is called satisfying win.
Amazing come back.
Now that was epic 👏🏁🍾
Well done 👏🏼
One word AMAZING 🎉🎉🎉
Well done rory 👏
Dude, that was fantastic, so you are breaking gradually so the battery charges much more right?
With gr1 cars that might be a difference, however there are dirty drivers that push you on the first corner on purpose
i dont understand what you where doing to get that much more speed???? someoe please explain🤔
Idk what happened between gts and gt7 that caused the hybrid cars to go back to how they were in gt sport pre patch
That was a Virén moment.
What time is the trick ?
Notch one up for the last to first challenge.
Smashing that like for a smashing video
So... What''s the technique?

Did Rory just pull a Seb from Brazil 2012???
Is this tip only possible on the wheel&pedals ? Can it be done on joypad?

Same as in GT Sport

Before the technique is shown, my guess is proper use of a KERS system

I dont get it...you drag the brake? Is that it? You go full throttle and still break?
Good thing you attempted the last to first challenge otherwise that would have been a boring race out front.

Nice I now know.
Sooo. How does it work? How do you manag so well your battery?

He brakes softly and early on while still accelerating before the braking zone, this small brake pressure recharges the battery even before he reaches the proper braking zone without compromise his speed that much.
VERY nice!
I guess I knew it already since this morning. ;) Ld!

You lost your lead story. What did you do to keep your battery charged up better than the others? That was the point of your video at the beginning?
Might take a couple of races for everyone to figure out the proper technique......
Passing people on the straight like they are in GT3 and you're running an LMP! 😂 😂 😂 You had fastest lap dialled in i knew you could chase them down!

@@JeffWeselyan it's not broke its how regeneration works there's a point where the power your delivering on acceleration with the brake slightly pressed the brake actually doesn't slow the car to brake it just juices the battery
ok so im not the only one that puts left foot on break
@leodalkey651
Жыл бұрын
Yes and with a good set of pedals you can delete the clutch or just move the break to the left. A must with a super stiff brake. I understand the manual purist would argue, but one should never virtual drive with one foot. Most hypercars are clutchless with paddle shifters these days. But if you drive left foot brake, in RL, you can easily destroy your transmission.
I left a like but also have no idea what I'm supposed to be understanding regarding the battery.

He is applying a small amount of braking input, before the big braking zones. The hybrid recharges most during braking Konsta does this brilliantly and he’s lapping in the low 1.24’s. He reckons that done properly, you can go at least a second a lap quicker than those that don’t manage the hybrid.
What a… Insane!🙀👍
Won't be doing this race because of that glitch. Raced you this morning as you spun on the last lap
So he did what's been done on PC2?

Is this technique a part of the simulation or is it an exploit? We've only just had the wall-riding scandal and before that the grass dipping in iRacing... That said, what fantastic driving Rory, a hell of a comeback
@FouadShawly
Жыл бұрын
not part of the simulation as far as I know. In real racing, LMP1 drivers would lift and coast to the corners to charge their batteries. Also, the can change the power deployment mode in order to preserve and optimize battery power deployment throughout the race
@nuffofyuhbs5458
Жыл бұрын
Nah no exploit the car is built like that. It turns kinetic energy from the 10% drag of the pre break (or lift or coast.. whichever..drivers choice) into the added boost in power overall to the battery's performance and ability, as it's also a generator. Porsche calls it recuperative braking.. their Taycan model has this.
@FouadShawly
Жыл бұрын
@@nuffofyuhbs5458 It's not an exploit per se, but it's a failure in simulation from the game itself. If GT simulated brake temps, those brakes would have been cooked in a lap or two, but since GT doesn't simulate brake temps, you can exploit this by braking while fully on the accelerator to charge the batteries, so it's kind of an exploit I would say.
@nuffofyuhbs5458
Жыл бұрын
@@FouadShawly ok ok.. I hear you in regards to the games abilities. I just dont agree that it's an actual exploit or even a slight. I still believe it's the cars capabilities. If I had a taycan I'd race it just to see if it's an actual thing or not but neither of us has one so we cant say definitely it's either or.. however based on the conversion rate of kw to hp I believe given driver skill the battery can be charged in this manner. Again.. I do hear what you're saying.
@FouadShawly

@@nuffofyuhbs5458 I'm not sure if u ever watched Le Mans or any WEC race before, but you'll see the way they drive from the on screen telemetry, drivers never use both accelerator and brake at the same time before entering a corner .. That's what I'm basing what I wrote above. Actually u can find many highlight vids here on YT with on screen telemetry, they fun to watch, especially LMP1 cars, they're crazy fast cars.
Sure there are 7 gears no ??
This is actually the worst car to do this with. Use the TS050 Toyota. That vehicle is actually a leader in current LE Mans races right at this moment. It’s been winning everything. The hybrid system is superb.
