Sid absolutely did not grow up to be a nobody. He was absolutely loving his job in that scene, even mid-day when it can be presumed his shift is almost completely over. Plus, garbage collectors make fantastic money. Bro’s had it good since he learned that toys are living entities. He might end up collecting old finds like the other garbage truck driver did with Lotso.

I remember coming out of the theatre thinking Sid must've got hired at the disposal after going there to ensure all those toys that scared him were disposed of and couldn't threaten him anymore. Though I've heard others suggest perhaps he at some point realized if toys were sentient, garbage disposals must basically be death camps, so he got himself hired there in order to rescue any discarded toys he found and repurpose his assembling skills to restore them instead.

Those are some wild theories, let's be honest by the time he'd grown up he would've thought it was just his kid brain imagining it. Not a single person would've believed him and the toys wouldn't move in front of him again so what else would he think. He's just doing his job and loving life from the looks.

Jim Hanks deserves more credit for what he does. not just because he can imitate his brother's voice, but the sheer dedication to voicing all these toys, games, theme park rides, etc nonstop for more than 30 years.

You know what is even more interesting, the Hebrew voice actor of Sid from the first film, yuval segal, also voices the chatter telephone telephone in the third film. He also voiced Mr. Pricklepants, a cashier, gary grappling hook and lizard wizard in toy story toons.

Bonnie's gray toy is Totoro from the Studio Ghibli film My Neighbour Totoro which is licensed and dubbed by Disney.

it is often overlooked that based on the posters in his room Sid is a fan of rock and roll/heavy metal, witch lines up with him listening to music later as a garbage man, perhaps after his whole toy destroying phase that's the passion he ultimately had more interest in
