I think bike manufacturers are fitting very wide handlebars for their complete bikes. 42 cm handlebar for 54 and 56 cm frame is too wide for the majority of us. If it is fitted with a one-piece handlebar, I would look at the alternatives. Aero advantage of a one-piece handlebar will be mitigated by its wider width. Canyon has reduced its bar widths by 1 cm. You now get 41 cm on 56 frame. It is a good move in the right direction.

I still think it's absurd that you buy a bike as is and can't change the bar width. Yeah yeah I know that's how floor sales work, but it seems silly for somebody to buy a 5, 6, 7 thousand dollar bike then have to spend hundreds more to get a bar that fits them. As many problems as Canyon has, the adjustable bars are sweet.

@@askmeaboutmattweiner yes, if you buy a top-of-the-range Canyon, you won't have the width problem at all. For others, handlebars with reduced width are offered.

I completely agree, I wanted to pre-order the new supersix evo 2023 in size 54 and I had to pay several hundreds in extra to change the default 42cm bar to 40cm. This is just absurd... You spend 7k on a new bike and they can't even change the handlebar width anymore...

God that missing spacer would bug me so much if I bought that bar and got it installed. I know it doesn't really do much in terms of aero probably like 1 watt if even. but my ocd just can't handle it lol

Keep that handlebar for some project in the middle of the TDF. I hear something very, very, very special is coming during the tour.

I cant help but think this is obsolete already - surely everyone is going to want to go in the direction of ENVE - wider drops and narrow hoods ala Pogacar.

Hi, big fan of your videos! Any idea why the 380mm width only comes with 80, 90 and then big jump to 115mm stem length?

Are these bars flared? I really like having the drops a bit wider than the levers. In fact I'd love to try the Enve Aero in 35/40 width

On a related note, what would you recommend for an aero carbon handlebar (1 or 2 piece setup) for my 2019 Sagan Allez Sprint (rim brake)?

I think the new Pro Vibe Aero bar & stem look cooler. Spaceship cockpit vibe. Taking the new vittoria corsa pros tbl in for installation today.

Damn. That's a classy looking handlebar. Frankly, the black decal looks more upscale. The pros got jipped.

While waiting Roval released the Integrated Cockpit… I can’t decide should I get the newer( integrated )handle bar or wait for the original option 🙄🫣

My old boss's name was Naaman. We joke when we say "nahhh mean". 😂 I love that they look as aerial as my 3T aeroflux bars. But be careful, companies be putting out junk stuff sometimes just to sell more product because sales declining. These however look promising.

You didn't mention the Alpinist 1 piece bar-stem thing when talking about their past attempts at this.

I recently got an s works aethos. There are a number of people putting this new rapide one piece cockpit on an aethos. Can you do a video comparison against the alpinist cockpit and see what your thoughts are overall about the Roval 1pc cockpit on an Aethos. Appreciate it! 🍻

The spacer stuff is a deal breaker for me.

What do you think of it vs the pro vibe evo?

These look great, but a downside to the road world moving over to one piece set ups is the options for modern stems with out front mount compatibility is dwindling. Half way through a steel frame build and using the current Roval Rapide bar, so there's no room for a clamp on garmin mount, and unless I drop wild money on a ZIPP or ENVE stem, the options are all pretty dated aesthetically. Open to to recommendations that come to mind. Great vid as always.

was so waiting for these to be released with a hope it would mimic the current design, just in a one piece, but I'm not really keen just yet. the original stem that comes with the sl7 is (to my eyes) a lovely looking piece, matching the bike perfectly. but now with this one, i think it look a bit out of place on a sl7. surely we have to wait for a proprietary spacer to hide the cables etc...but ... not sure just now

They also had an S-Works Barmac one piece bar/stem back in 2008(ish) that was pretty cutting edge at the time. They made several iterations of it over the years.

Exact reason why I use bar and stem combo. I'm 1.91 m (6'3") and use a 38 cm bar with a 120 mm stem, you don't usually find one piece cockpits in that config.

I did enquire 2 Specialized Head Office in Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 b4 l purchased the FSA VISION ONE PIECE CARBON COCKPIT. There was this Big Secrecy B.S. going on . Have an SL5 TARMAC EXPERT & ×3 Sets of Roval Rapide CLX wheelsets 4 that frame . 👌 The SL7 S-WORKS I also have ×3 sets of Roval Rapide CLX Wheelsets. So obviously I am a Specialized Nut . Know one at Specialized could tell me the release date ... that sucks. U don't Build Excitement & Anticipation thru Secrecy . By having a Release Date that Builds Excitement & Expectation . So l went with the FSA VISION ONE PIECE CARBON COCKPIT. A 55 Gram penalty l think. If l had the Roval Bars l would have been under the UCI 6.8 kilo weight limit with a Complete Bike. 54cm . Pedals, Carbon Bottle Cages, & Computer Mount. Weight 6.83 KILOS COMPLETE. 4me Specialized needs 2 lift there Game . What l love ❤ about the FSA VISION ONE PIECE CARBON COCKPIT are these ×3 things . Finish is Xcellent. Looks Xcellent & they have slightly splayed out 2-3 % on the drops. Something that Specialized didn't add 2 this Roval Rapide Bar . Maybe in the upgrade. Am l worried about 0.030 grams NO , Bike looks Awesome & at this weight l am much lighter than a huge majority of the Pro Peleton Riders. There riding 7 , 7.1 , 7.2 , 7.3 Kilo Bikes. Now all l require is more Power / Watts . 😅

So, if I were to buy this new bar for my 2019 Venge, it would look ugly because I couldn't get a matching spacer kit, and I could no longer user my clamp-on aero extensions, because there's no matching stem clamp, and putting a clamp around a carbon stem is probably a bad idea in the first place? Guess I'll pass on this one…

Haha - why not just have the cables run thru the stem part to go right into all the d-shaped steerers. This thing us DOA until they fix it. Otherwise a beautiful one-piece bar and stem

What are your thoughts on the Chinese alternatives like the Yoeleo’s? Any experience with them. I find it hard to justify the price point on these more traditional integrated stem bars when there are “cost effective” Chinese alternatives. I put down power but I’m not cranking 1300W, so not sure I’m risking snapping anything with my unwieldy strengrh

There are different grades of CJ obese alternatives. Some of them ar eat crap it’s not worth wasting your time on them. But the more reputable ones like aerover winspace are fine.

I’ve been using a carbon S-Works Aerofly from China since 2015 and it hasn’t broke yet….63,000 miles on it. I think I paid $65 for it.

i just bought a fake tarmac frame, i ride a giant tcr disc 2022, it feels incredible, just as stiff and still light.. will have to see for durability, came with seatpost, fork, frame, stem and aerofly bars, bearings and such. for 500 pretty good tbh

The Rapide has a deeper depth compared to the Aeolus RSL and the latter uses guttered external routing.

Love your channel but again: please disable HDR on a device you are rercording with it has to be somewhere on your phone recording settings. Some of your videos are unwatchable on MacBooksPros with hdr screens (all whites like your floor etc are constantly pushing screen to max 1300nits normally reserved for short things like explosion in movies etc ) and you can't disable hdr on youtube.

I was looking at the one piece, £475, isn’t worth the Gram savings. I don’t like the integration. The original aéro bar is far nicer looking. ❤lové you did this great video to highlight it and the lack of spacers - make it show as not as fluid pretty.

For reasons of weight... definitely not worth it, lightweight alloy stem + roval rapide bar is much lighter ;)

600 USD for this?! And you have to find on your own spacere?! This is sick! It is just a bit of carbon, no space technoloy! I just wait to see, when I will see handlebar broken or cracked ; ) The best ever was made by Time Sports Ergo Drive Bar and Stem using the RTM technology, The rest are made using basic and old carbon lay-up process. Thats' why the unsafe, and useless.

I have a doubt this scam is viable for a sworks sl6?
