Why would you have your client go get their own fabric? McDonald’s doesn’t tell you go pick your own tomatoes to put on your burger…..all my client has the responsibility of doing is having their money to me when stated. I do everything else, get fabric, find alternatives for out of stock fabric etc……thats another red flag 🚩

  • @mikhalaa746

Buying my own fabric would have been my first clue. YOU are the dress maker so you should buy everything that is needed. Thats why im paying you🙄

Depends. Some dressmaker let their clients get the material because if the client change their minds and don't pick up the dress and pay, which according to dressmakers can happen especially with costly pieces, at least they are not stuck with the material expenses, only the time they spent making the dress.

My younger daughter was looking desperately for a dress forher graduation "Abitur". It was very difficult, because she is small and picky and I couldn't afford to pay premium prices. She was about to give up on a new dress when we found one online from China, but this particular dress was supposed to be in stock at the warehouse in Germany. We ordered it 3 days before the event with express courier just out of despair. It arrived the next day, got altered for 1 day ( was still bit too long). It looked exactly like the picture, wonderful fabric, amazing colour and fitting. I've paid 15 euros for the dress and 15 euros for express delivery. She got a lot of compliments. Best dress ever, but 1 in a million chance for success 😂
