"If someone has your number, if someone has the information, if someone could really convince you to get on board, you would be surprised what you can fall for" - that's the main reason why I have never tried to put shame on those who have been scammed, regardless of how they had treated me. We all have our vulnerabilities, and there are a lot of people who know what buttons to push. Our duty as a society should not be to laugh at or be dismissive of those who have been scammed, but to actually be supportive of them. I mean, we have managed to stop smoking ads just so that we could protect those who are vulnerable, I don't see why we can't do that with financial scams too.
That was absolutely fascinating. Dudes like Le Roux fascinate me, great talk.

Why didnt yall cover the fact that Paul Le Roux was arrested around the same time that Satoshi disappeared?
You should get the very first version of Bitcoin source code and make a deep analysis and comparison with any of the code written by Paul. Programmers tend to have a personal "handwriting" in picking files, functions and variable names, the code layout, the indentation, the structure of the sources directories etc.

Wow I loved the Wired piece on disappearing your guest did. It's really fun putting that together when you start talking about it a few minutes in. This is wildly engrossing to listen to. Great get guys. Also it's really interesting that the Wired piece came out in 2009 around the time that Bitcoin was being developed. Definitely ordering Mr. Ratliff's book.

Now imagine what will happen in El Salvador were everything has been put on reserve for 15 years and there is no way to tell where billions of dollars have gone and even if the country turns a new leaf, they don't have the capability or technology to even allow them to investigate, that is a disaster waiting to happen.

Well it is classic click bait. The ties to Satoshi are stupidly weak.
The videos from Barely Sociable on who Satoshi is are pretty good. One day we may know who Satoshi is, for now it's kind of interesting so see all the theories.

Fascinating stuff. The early blocks thing is interesting in terms of the timings - how many actors (known or unknown) existed with the competence to not just run the software but do signing etc (which if I recall was not trivial with that first GUI/CLI) within the timeframe of the first blocks? All circumstantial stuff but yknow.

The point Evan was making is that they could have been (and probably are) signed recently

@@CryptoCriticPod ah this makes sense, obvious oversight on my part. So still limited to whomever could plausibly have mined those early blocks (or passed/taken control of those relevant wallet-keys to other actors) but signing not time-bounded (unless making a unverifiable assumption that the signed messages are legitimately contemparaneous and not forged)

Shocked to see he got mixed up. David was a straight up, honest guy until this that ended his life! I still can’t believe his end! 😢
Most people don't know who Paul Larouche is
As a person from Zimbabwe, I think Le roux was involved composed of a group of masterminds.
I’m portraying LeRoux in a new documentary being filmed here in New York.
No matter where I was without connectivity, David found me and showed up at my door! Unexpectedly! Wow! Too shocking still!
As soon as Le Roux is released from prison he will be deported to Philippines to face trial for murder and illegal arms sales. If he is Satoshi he should be thinking of an El Chapo escape. Much easier to bribe his way out in the Phillipines.
He did! I was told by David himself when he got the job as head of security. He told me he got a job offer from the man who created bitcoin. I Didn’t know what bitcoin was but the boss was important!
thank you for helping the public we need it plz help stop pyramid scam of Tate
Evan has done some great work, I firmly believe Paul la roux is in part Satoshi the timmings the previous history in cryption there is so much circumstantial evidence and crossed with time lines is just astounding, from his belives to his tech abilities he is the only one who makes sense E4M true crypt the love of gold on and on Satoshi Nakamoto wallets are encrypted with true crypt just one exa ple anyway the rabbit hole is deep with guy great show.
A question to Mr Ratcliff: Did the Atavist publish the whole book on their site or was it just a digest ?
Money to and money can be undetectable if you use cash only
49:01 Guys what are the chances Paul still has acces or even remembers where he has backup keys after 10 years. I also doubt he will get back his confiscated accounts and computers. EVER. Like too important. And why would he care. If he can get a few of his assets back he is set for life. And then Evan Ratcliff mentioned that only Paul had access to the encryption on his computers. So he could have wiped something but certainly not in a selective manner. Like delete all operation files but leave all keys and hide them
social engineering is a real thing plz listen to these people they are helping all of us i worked for shogun gaming and i did see the big scam in gamming back then and how MLG was scamming win,s Esports full of scams as coin base support big cash gen

Huh?
That's whom I suspect satoshi is. Paul Le roux maybe one man of an organization. Libertarian white south African seems to fit w/ this ideology.
46:16 Of course it's not a libelous statement! It's spoken, that makes it slander!
I love your guys content! I even love this specific discussion...but I am a ride or die true believer that it was 100% Adam Back that was Satoshi, with help from Hal after releasing the white paper. Paul Le Roux just doesnt seem to really line up for me but I have not really given it any critical thought till this podcast. So I'm open to looking into it. But if he gets out in about 15 years from now and early blocks start moving...then we know whats up....or Adam Back is just waiting to move genesis coins for when Paul gets out to throw people off. On a final note... I would like it to be Notice that Paul Le Roux admitted on legal documents to being involved with or help set up 7 different murders (on top of his drug charges) and got 25 years.... Ross U got life for running a website and then rumor of a murder to hire with no real evidence of it presented in the court room. Something to think about...
Yes Satoshi must have:)
If anyone ever asks you for money that you don't know personally... probably a scam.
Way to make Le Roux eminently likeable 😃
So many improperly compared assumptions about persons and their traits. 🙄
Tramadol IS NOT 'highly addictive'!
I have emails from David still!

If he was satoshi, he would 51 percent his own creation.
Why would Putin do this?
“Solochi“ sounds like a stretch…I wouldn’t even consider that as evidence, lol. Forums were very popular back in the day before discord, as well as IRC, and as far as emailing people asking them if you can use their code and how to credit them, that’s standard practice for FOSS. GitHub wasn’t around back then, you couldn’t just fork someone’s repo. This all sounds highly dubious. As far as the libertarian right wing racism stuff that fits literally cajilions of people.

Basically he was a criminal that could code and was libertarian. I could probably find a thousand similar cases, but as he demonstrated the passport is the gateway to even remotely tie him to Satoshi.

Regarding Israel and extradition- not saying its right or wrong, but there is something you are missing. There is very strong historical trauma about the Holocaust, a view of the world as a place that persecutes Jews, and of the State of Israel as a place that should protect them. Its not that fraud is "not serious". Its that murder is serious enough to break these principals. Not defending this, but pointing out a world view that you may not understand.
Supposedly Craig Wright has Paul Le Rioux encrypted drive and he is using his Bitcoin mining farm as cover to try to decrypt the excrypted drives of which he thinks he will have the compute power to crack it within 12 years whihc is why he saying he is satoshi now. So he can liquidate it with a legitimate claim.

These vlogs would go so much farther if prefaced w why should the avg person care who the hell satoshi is…
I think Satoshi was a CIA or NSA employee to create a crypto currency that the government could use its computers to mine crypto it could use to pay government and other groups abroad without tracing it back to the US

Possible. There are groups and software that can do linguistic analysis on forum posts to determine if the writing style is one person or several. Even then, since it's a distributed system, couldn't any government mine it? China has a few very large pool, and subsidize the mining to a degree
No, Paul Le Roux did not invent Bitcoin. Sorry, you are wrong.
This video was pure torture. Please don't do that to us again... Please!
Chico Crypto thinks satoshi is Elon Musk 🤡🤡🤡🤡
Satoshi was a construct to clearly and concisely talk about Bitcoin on a web forum. A multi-person edited collaboration, the leader being CRAIG WRIGHT, who is the creator of Bitcoin.
Nick Szabo is the real Satoshi Nakamoto, he started the development of blockchain in the 1990's
