JM, the sighting was during a high-stress spacewalk and unlike his normal view from inside, he didn't know his orientation as he was working up close to the exterior structure, on the night side of Earth. Landing lights are concentrated along approach paths, not directly overhead. Now are you willing to agree that the lights Chiao saw were also captured on a satellite photo?

I grew up in an extremely active area, and have seen many different things of such a nature, and never felt much, if any, fear thereof, really. I more felt amazement and awe than any type of fear.

They see fishing boat lights all the time, from the observation deck, over the night side, and the external camera catches them regularly and dozens of youtube videos show them. The unique factor here was they were doing a spacewalk repair outside the station with their narrow helmet field of view nearly filled with the structural element they were working on. Having lost track of the position of the horizon because he was concentrating on the repair. Chiao noticed a handful of lights passing against a dark Earth and as per protocol reported the observation promptly so Mission Control could check if it was some hazardous condition on the station. You are trying very very hard to misunderstand the situation. Since the weather sat photos show boats right under where the space station flew at exactly the time it fly over, and the visible layout of the boat lights looked just like Chiao said he saw, it seemed to grown-ups that there might have been a connection. Oh, the UFO websites concealed the weather sat photo from their target audience of simpleton saps? Then I guess you'll refuse to look at it too.

I seen 5 red lights fly by the other night way to fast and no sound not blinking was not airplane even seen an airplane at that same time i live 100 miles inland from the coast and they dont do squid fishing on the oregon coast so who really knows

Did you see the view of what such boats look like when operating? The lights reflect off the water around the boats. You can find dozens of ISS 'night views of earth surface' that show such fishing fleets.

They knew that was a UFO and using the boat as a back

That was one of our Solar Warden crafts.....there's supposed to be 8 , 200 meters long cigar shaped ship's up there along with over 40 smaller ships..

They told him what to believe. I seriously don't think you can see those lights from that distance. They need to stop with this BS.

Search youtube for ISS night views of fishing fleets, you'll find dozens. The small fleet that Chiao overflew during his spacewalk was bright enough to show up on a weather satellite photo, want to see it? Please get a grip.

It's the relative speed that's crucial. These boats were also imaged by a weather satellite.

Just as there could be life out there in space that is advanced from our perspective, there could also be other life in space that is just evolving from the swamp.

Thinking of bying a good telescope and look for my self

To me the lights seem to be the propulsion units. It seems that they are activated to turn and move forward. So only one on the other side would mean that its taking a fairly sharp turn. I am not a space craft engineer though o.O

Why wait for them to tell us...When we already know........The people will never know the truth unless we go to space for ourselfs. Its funny how he changed his story. It would be a shame to think that we as the human race would be the only living creatures in the heavens. Think of other galaxy's......

You can watch the earth live from the ISS on KZread. The ISS is rotating the earth at extremely high speed at tens of thousands of miles per hour in the same direction as the earths rotation. Lights from the planet itself would not have appeared to move in the way that is described, they would have moved from his view much more slowly

Wrong. It was the space station's orbital speed, not Earth's rotation, that created the relative motion.

You should NOT except that they were fishing lights! I seen the same lights obove the sky over Indiana. Glad I happened to stumble upon this video. These lights passed across the whole sky within seconds. This happened in the evening, was not dark outside. I would have NO problem with a lie detector, nor hypnosis. I just want this astronaut to know he did see them in space. And I am relieved that someone else has seen this sighting.

I saw that thing too. A boomerang or v shaped thing with 5 lights on the underside floating slowly with NO NOISE. I was 20m away and that that thing was huge. Twice than an airplane. If someone tells me about UFOs I would lough but not after that experience.

I seen them too their real . No sound but the way they move was more wierd . And at first I thought they were birds in a v formation but I looked closer and seen it was a ufo just like the one this video explains . But they really hide . The most thing that had me stunned as I looked at it . It left really slow towards up the sky and it began to get smaller and smaller with in seconds and notice it was far more gone than I expected literally left the earth with in seconds . No sound or trail left behind. It was crazy never seen something like it . It’s stuck in my memory. You have to see it to believe it . But they are real and are out their

I seen these , 5 or 6 lights me and my wife outside nighttime on hammocks . It's like they were watching us couldn't tell how far away they were but 5 or 6 of them blinking off and on for about 3 minutes the it just stopped ,btw one of my hobbies is star gazing luck of the draw or skill idk ,no b.s this was roughly 2015 16 in manton Michigan looking to the north east almost east . If anyone else seen these I hope to read about them more .

The International space station has been working with genetics to create a new species that is crafted for space to be its habitat. If you click on the purple channel icon to the left you can see videos of an ion thruster without moving parts, lift its power supply and fly for almost 2 minutes! I know it is only a rough prototype, but NASA should give more attention to it than they do, because carrying a power supply with an ion thruster should be considered important...

Well, we assume the universe is infinite. But yes you are right, if the universe is infinite (which I believe it is) then there is a 100% chance that there is life somewhere out there.

Don't worry its just the Lubbock Lights 1951 / Hudson Valley UFO 1983 / Phoenix Lights 1997 swinging past for another flight across the Earth.
