Did Judas Priest write this new song about KK Downing?

I would think devil in disguise 👿 is about trump. . like parts of panic attack are about him and the insurrection. I think fight of your life is about Glenn's battle. Obviously escape from reality is a nod to Sabbath who even had the album master of reality. And robs imitating Ozzy for sure 😁. Vicious circle I'm not sure about . ❓

I’m suprised at the overall quality of your commentary. I found myself pausing and going back and forth between your video, and the specific parts of the songs/album as you mentioned them. Even with Heads Are Gonna Roll…your snippet about how the same guy wrote The Lodger sparked my curiosity! Would you ever incorporate very brief cutaways to those actual song parts, in future commentary like this?

Escape from reality is in my top 4 songs off the album. The chorus is so intense (and he sounds like Axl from the Appetite days; in fact the chorus could easily have appeared in an Appetite song)

All three songs are amazing! All three songs would be among my favorite songs on other Priest Albums too... Btw. Escape from reality is so far maybe among my three top songs of the Album...- Concerning KK in lyrics... maybe it is just in your mind ,,, Rob always is able to write lyrics wich give you the possibility to see them in your own light and interpretation... He actually didn't mention KK when he spoke about the lyrics..- and I really believe they are obviously happy to do their own thing without KK and without always reacting to KK's attacks

Absolute Agree with Fight of your Life! The opening riff and verse is very reminiscent of the same bluesy pub rawk that they and many other bands like them could write with their hands tied 'hind their back, whilst asleep. But! Suddenly the chorus punches its way into your soul and its like a whole other track has happened. Its victorious chorus sounds like the end credits from an '80s Jean Claude Van Damme movie, or something from a training scene in a martial arts movie. Makes me want to go to the Gym! The Lodger, Ive commented to ya before here that, I think has the same Gothic Melodic Playful menace and malice of Alice Cooper, King Diamond and Ghost. Its theatrical, its atmospheric and has haunting hooks that to me, would have nominated it a spot on the proper album. I like "Trial By Fire", but Id lodge The Lodger in its place. Its eerieness sounds cool as a followup to "Escape from Reality".

@PossessedByMetal666 it's funny, I heard the album first on Spotify, and that was the full 14 songs, and I swear, every one of them immediately seemed to fit together for me. I thought the lodger was an awesome way to end the album too, it was just so different and catchy, that chorus is an earworm for sure. It's the first album I have listed to straight through twice in a row the first time I listened....and it's been played at least once a day ever since its release. Just seen em play a few weeks ago and it was just unbelievable.

The Lodger is from Sir Alfred Hitchcock silent movie "the Lodger" from 1927. I have to watch the whole movie. There is a point that thet the lodger had to explain that the woman in the photograph was his sister, a beautiful debutante murdered by the Avenger at a dance, and that he had vowed to his dying mother that he would bring the killer to justice. That is so close to the lyrics : Cause that dead girl was his sister and I'll bring my brand of justice.

I would have actually replaced all three of the final tracks with all three bonus tracks TBH. I think Escape from Reality is fine I guess, makes sense on the album, but I would have replaced Sons of Thunder SOT is okay on it's own, but when listening back to back with EFR, it starts in the same key with a similar mid tempo riff.. Almost feels like the same song repeated. ** That being said, the first eight tracks are all REALLY good, and that's a pretty damn good conversion rate!

I love Vicious Circle but the problem with it is it sounds too much like Sons of Thunder, so they really had to pick one or the other. Thunder sounds more Priest (and Vicious more like Fight or Halford) so I guess that was the deciding factor. I also think Lodger is better than Giants in the Sky, its an excellent closing track.

I honestly don’t care what happened between KK and the rest of the band as it has zero impact on my life. BUT... If you’re interested Rob, Scot and Richie went to see KK before they played together at the Hall of Fame celebration so make of that what yo will.

I mean, yes, unfortunately, there are not probably the best relationships now..:-( but still..In his book K.K. did not write anything really bad about the others band members..nor even Rob about K.K. in his book. Least Favorite The Lodger. I agree a lot of your analysis. I met KK the other day super nice guy. And there are definitely micro tribes. Not sure what you mean come to terms? Priest have taken the high road through the entire thing. Unfortunately to this very day KK is still whining about it....13 years later. It's not the same as when Halford left....because he left the band because the label wouldn't allow him to do side projects...he wanted to experiment and do other music unlike Priest and they said no .....so he left the band. He really didn't want to leave but he wanted to create other music. They let Halford back in because at that time Priest was dead in the water....if they didn't at that point the band would've been finished. Lets get real Ripper didn't save them and both of those albums are duds no matter what anyone says. He aired his dirty laundry in his book and also in public. He wanted the band to retire back in 2011 before the epitaph tour he just quit less than a month before they were supposed to kick off a tour...leaving them scrambling to find a guitarist. They weren't ready to retire and he was forcing their hands. They told him you can retire but we're not and so he did....

@@omniken66 I don't think KK aired unnecessary laundry in his book, I think he should have addressed the situation for the fans. Although, I think he wrote everything very biased because he pretty much never admitted his wrongdoings and it gave you the impression that KK was innocent.
