the same thing happened to me exactly, but the dealership didn’t warranty my car because of “sludge” (I opened up the engine. There was no sign of sludge) and was asking $37k… I took my car back, instantly found a used motor for 5K, and put it in myself… I ditched JB4 and went with racebox and had no problems since then.

Damn Buddy them Jb4 definitely turn the VR30 up in terms of performance. I have had excellent success with the ECUTeK on my 22 Redsport I have 34k on the OD and I installed it at 2500 miles after the Break in - oil change..soo glad to hear infinity Took care of you with no BS..keep the awesome Content Rolling Buddy..👊🏼

I think it's likely the bearing was damaged when it was in that accident. It took some time but eventually it worked itself to the point of failure. The jolt of the impact.

If you monitor your oil temps via JB4 you'll see they hover around 200 even when you're not getting on it. Where I'm at in FL they will hover around 205 - 215 (19' luxe) just in traffic during the summer. The oil cooler for non red sports are trash, plus this engine runs hot in general. If you read up on folks who have sent in their OW-20 for testing, it's basically OW-10 after even light use. 5W-30 will help, I would still get an oil cooler (I have a 25 fin Z1 OC, waiting for install) and a HX. That high heat with thin oil, degrades the oil very fast. This is why the redsports have a better oil cooler at their boost levels. Double check with your dealership, it won't complicate future warranty claims with the thicker oil as well. Good luck!

What is everyones opion on v1 hotbox ?? I installed on my car and sometimes i wonder if the car can take the extra stress ? I def wouldn't get jb4 unless i was modded out especially w a heat exchanger. Right now im on a 2016 redsport 90,000 miles completely stock except for ams intakes and the the hotbox i installed. Honestly, I never heard of the JB4 ever ruining a car I think it’s more of user error because it depends what map you’re running and you gotta do your research because I bet some of yall are running the highest map without the proper setup and that’s how your messing up your VQ. i have a base 18 102k miles no dash lights stock everything except cold intakes and ive had no issues. i do my oil changes every 5k i dont do any hard launches but i am an aggressive driver. I do have to change out the spark plugs at some point since i assume they have never been replaced

Go with mobil 1 extended performance 5w30 oil

Might be in consideration for trying 5w30 ... that's what I ran in my Vq motors and Vg Motors... currently running Rotella T6 5w40 in my vq ..

@@finfinq yea soon as I got my 21 q50 I was running 0w20 but I was getting turbo lag so after I just been running 5w30 and no more turbo lag car drives waaay better you'll notice the difference

Weird question, did insurance get involved or did it make your q50 a rebuilt title? I have been on the hunt for a q50 but all around me have rebuilt titles, but they say its from engine blowing and no accident.

Sucks brother but you live and you learn, id recommend custom tune, im ecu tek tune 470whp500+tq stock turbos og motor 81k miles get a good tune man and enjoy the car. Big question though bro.... Is your car a rebuilt title and did they honor warranty work with it being a rebuilt title from the accident you mentioned? Thx bro

No rebuilt title, still a clean title. I'm not really sure how that played out with the title and repairs as it was before my ownership but title is 100% clean 🤔

Not hating or anything trying to bring u down. People need to understand piggy backs for vr30 aren’t safe. JB4 is ghetto asf when it comes to wanting to quote on quote tune the car. I understand some people can’t afford racebox tune or ams tune. when it comes down to modding vr30 or any turbo charged car best to go with a reliable tuner that knows the safety parameters of the car and mix in power with reliability . Co worker been tuned by ams for 35k miles no issues at all and he keeps up with maintenance and uses 5w-30 AMS. People don’t cheap out. All love tho fin fin

@@myspurs2003 That’s relatively new to the vr30 market. It was manufactured by Z1. They did state they made the parameters safe and reliable to daily drive so shouldn’t be an issue. Remember JB4 allows u to turn up the boost to almost 20 psi which is not safe at all. But hotbox it’s already preset by z1.

JB4 had may car running like shit in terms of pulls it caused a fuel leak and had the car hesitant during a pull

That's the ecu fighting with it make sure updated the firmware also remember these cars heat soak quickly make sure you have a heat exchanger.

Let me give you some advice my guy never use 0w20. It’s shit use 5w30.

Also don’t do pulls when you just start you car, wait for engine temp to get up. Boost doesn’t cause accelerated wear lack of oil and not using proper oil temp does

Your old owner probably also didn’t do an oil change which causes that. A guy on KZread tore down two vr30s without oil changes, and the first things to go were the main bearings. Oil issue and not a boost issue, it would have happened anyways even without the jb4. Just take care of your new engine like you previously did.

Yup install Jb4 my motor and turbos fail after 10k mile car had 37k at failure
