Poor baby! She just needs time to adjust and feel better. I found a hydrocortisone spray for my cat. They don't have a horse version of that? Maybe a big water tub to make her an oatmeal bath?

She already looks like she has gained weight.. what a cutie.

Holly had a zebra.😂 She’s beautiful. Piper is grumpy but smart; she’ll calm down soon enough.

Are your grullas double registered. Holly is the perfect Grulla and truly cloned herself. Piper will never know what a lucky filly she truly is. As a wild horse she'd start being bred as soon as she cycled. And would get bred every year until she passed, live life in the elements if the ticks didn’t kill her. Instead she has a bucket in every corner with stuff she no longer has to fight for.

Someone probably has already suggested this, but have you considered a grab-n-go bag, with all the suff you might need for a short notice rescue, such as small halter, rope, assorted medical supplies, maybe even premie diapers for potential injuries, pedialyte and syringes to address dehydration. Blanket or large towel to use as belly band to assist with lifting into/out of truck or anything that might make a rescue less chaotic for you. You both do great work. Holly's foal is a real looker!

Holly’s baby looks like a gazelle. Maybe Giselle would be a good name for her. Piper is like teenager. Loves you but she hates you at the same time. Both foals are adorable!

Holly's baby will look just jike her mama when she sheds her baby hair. She comes from a long line of Grulla horses.

Holly's baby is so cute. Piper is a wonderful name for your little foundling. When you say she doesn't seem to like the taste of her milk it made me think how breast-fed babies don't like to take a bottle with formula. They usually fight it a lot. Piper had a chance to know what the real stuff is and she just doesn't want to settle!

Piper is a great name! The milk you're giving her probably just doesn't taste quite like her mom's milk. A couple days ago, a video with a grulla foal that initially appeared to be your beautiful baby showed up in my feed. Thinking it was some news about you, I clicked in it. In all my years, I have never heard of the spirit horses. What an amazing story and very different breed of horse! Not your baby but some good learning your baby brought! ❤

Holly's foal's zigzag tail suggests the name ziggy, or maybe swizzle.

I have one red mare that pins her ears all the time, but she's definitely not being crabby or dominant like when my other horses do it. They don't understand her either and she's kind of an outcast, but she's very sweet and friendly despite her face. She just has RMF (resting mare face)... baby Piper reminds me of her a bit

Both cute as buttons. Piper is perfect name and she really is filling out. I love her attitude, had one just like that. I called her kick butt Rose because I figure she was gonna get me at some point. She was born in c as probity about 3 days after her Mom was captured. I adopted her from BLM actually on her first birthdsy. She was fearless, be came lead mare of the group, smart as a whip and learned in a heartbeat. She never died from anything, she would march right up, investigate and hold her ground. She perceived anything threatening to me and she would move between it and me to protect. I trusted her with my life once she learned I wasn't the enemy. Piperwill come around and you will be amazed at her. My opinion, lol😍

The name fits her well. I'm sure store milk does not taste like momma's milk and as an older foal it may be hard for her to accept. It's good she is beginning to eat grass hopefully it wont be too hard to get her on to grain. The grulla baby is adorable, they'll be running together in no time.

Holly's baby is so cute with her black eyes and black stripe. Of course little Miss Attitude is cute too, her fight with herself determined to not like you but liking you despite herself is so cute. Determined to be a tough hard ass but just not quite pulling it off. Hahaha. I imagine she's just trying to protect herself in case she loses you too, poor darling grump.
