Did I Overbid For This MINT 1st Gen Tacoma 4WD at a Dealer's Auction?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
hey wassup everyone, in this video you're going to join me at my local auction. I purchased this tacoma for maybe personal use in the beginning but business always comes first. Prius went to my buddy since gas prices are going to surge this summer.
message me if you want to buy a car from the auction. (locals only) Orange county, CA

"Alittle bit of rust, nothing to crazy" proceeds to show the CLEANEST 1st gen frame and underbody EVER
1st gen tacomas are the best. Even with 300k miles if you have mechanical experience. You can swap the engine to a low milage engine and transmission and you're set for another 300k. Very dependable compact trucks.

not necessary, if well taken care of, they last 500k+ with ease.

I have the same model,2002...took real good care but engine lost compression at 315k,found a low mileage used one then tranny rebuild at 405, but zero rust here in N.C...at 420k, 500+ shouldn't faze it, still handles like it did new.

My 2004 Tacoma is at 350k miles and runs like a champ! I did rebuild the top end at about 250k though.
Good find my guy on the Tacoma. Keep it for yourself, they are getting very hard to find. I have had mine for 18 years now since new.

First gen value will never go down
I have a 04 TRD OFF-ROAD double cab Tacoma with 238,000 miles and I paid $9,000 for it. It was very well maintained with all the maintenance records. It came with flow master exhaust, fox lift kit with 33’ tires on 17’ wheels, and updated sound system. It’s been one of the best investments I made. I get people giving compliments all the time and also offers to buy it but i doubt I’ll ever sell it. It would have to be a ridiculous amount for me to even consider selling it. 😂
“Don’t come over here if you’re not willing to pay the gas haha” POV: it’s 2022, and gas is $6.26 🤣🤣 P.S: A 1st Gen, double cab, v4 taco is EXACTLY what I’m looking for to make my first car, and project vehicle in general. If I’d gotten that car for $7k, I’d be HAPPY ASF!!

Great flip Joe. That one owner Tacoma look great 👍. Great video
I am in New England and it is April 2022, right now with the current used truck Market especially 1st gen Tacoma 4x4 or 3rd gen 4Runner 7700 as clean as that Tacoma is that is a killer deal, the mileage doesn't matter as long as its not leaking/ smoking lol and it is clean the frame is clean ,right now I'm driving a 98 2.7 5 speed and it is sitting at 240k ,I also have a 96 4Runner 3.4 5-speed that old girl is running at 360k, I believe it isn't going to stop anytime soon, that truck is my wife's daily driver and it is ran everyday sometimes pretty hard if I know my wife, but yes 7700 would be a great deal here those trucks here are going for 10K Plus
Happy w/my 2003 Tacoma SR5 Dlb. Cab prerunner w/313K miles factory chrome rims K02 tires supper clean all around. 99% dealer service only 21 yrs of service records. And not for sale.

@@jayh6900 750$ is only a guess for real in my area the going rate is 90$ or more an hour and trust and believe there not gonna do the repairs as quickly as possible there gonna make sure they get that $. Hell I'd do it myself on a 5vz motor honestly...but taking apart some if these newer engines can become a nightmare real fast if you dont have the proper tools especially if it's your first go round with said motor..
@jayh6900
2 жыл бұрын
@@jdubskiwright2380 The 5VZ is hardly new and a quality indy shop should come in way under $1,000 if you decide to do a few "while you're in there" things. This is a California truck, if it hasn't been in a serious accident, everything else can be serviced. I would not consider these trucks as disposable just because of mileage. You know when a truck is clapped out. This one does not appear to be a clapped out one. $7k is fair in this climate being a DC with 4WD. You don't have to like it. If you can find these all day for claimed $3k and similar condition, you can flip them for twice the amount on an auction site.
@jdubskiwright2380

@@jayh6900 I'm not saying the 5vz is new I know that's an older motor..I'm saying doi g a timing job on a newer motor can be a serious pain in the ass..especially if it's your first time with tht motor or you dont have the required tools..then it cost even more...last motor I did a timing belt on was a 99. Ford 2.5 motor that was less then 3 hours and done..
