I do love plaid skirts. I am small, slim and petite. I would wear the skirt with tights but not those boots. Shoes or a heeled ankle boot would be more flattering. I do like the jumper, perhaps one in a more cropped length. You can carry off the skirt with flattering clothing to go with it.

Yes ankle boots would be better. The moto ones i wore with the other skirt. I have ordered another plaid skirt now.

Ive ordered 2 preloved that are short and straight.

The coat in tweed is stunning leggings and those boots. I love classic clothing, turtle necks, tweed and I have just bought a pair of Hunters boots in my small size. They are red, but they fit me. I do like the British Country look. I live in the USA, New England so I have winter now.

I am 75 and in summer live in shorts. I wear more the hiking type rather than very short so they look okay. If I lived in a city maybe not.

Another rave for you in your shortish skirt, it’s not mini, you look fab. Much better than the straight skirt.😀

Biker boots looked edgy on college girls 30 years ago when I was teaching, so to me they don't look modern, they look retro. I liked the other black boots better, the ones with pointier toes (4:42).

I don't think it was the skirt so much as the fit of the boots and loose top you were wearing with it. They were very loose in the calf and baggy on the top. If you did a more fitted top and boots it would look really nice. Leggings with a blazer needs riding boots to the knee, and then you have the right visual weight on top and at the bottom, plus coverage on your legs.

Yes I agree. Funnily i thought the skirt on claudia was with long boots which is why i used them. It wasn't. She wore biker style 😀. The jumper weight and shape was similar but i think the problem is the skater style. Ive ordered 2 preloved minis that are straight now. Yes re leggings . I agree which makes Claudia's look quite odd with pointed toed heeled boots. Still she looked good.

Great idea for a video. Might do something similar but Claudia is tiny. Don’t think any of these would be for me although I love a country look x

@@Myover50fashionlife Well if you have sewing skills and you love the skirt, you could build in a yoke at the top. It would also reduce bulk along the tummy as there would no longer be pleats there. You are right about leggings. LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS!! They were actually meant to be worn under tunic-length garments. Unless you were a medieval guy and then the goal was to look naked.

Very touristy, not what we real Scottish wear here in the highlands, sorry! More waterproof jackets and jeans with walking boots. A traditional jacket or coat, you would get soaked in a minute!

That blazer just looks too long on your small frame.
