I own a 2013 Genesis 5.0 R-Spec. Bought it with 50,000 miles. It now has 295,000 miles on it. Regular maintenance and the only thing I've had to replace is the Alternator. The gears on my mirrors went out but I'll fix that soon enough. Best car I've ever owned and the leather is still in great condition.

The Genesis is pretty nice actually. Nothing wrong with choosing one over a Lexus or any other brand really.

2013 Hyundai Genesis owner here. Purchased in 2015 with 35k on the clock. Fast forward to today and I have 130k miles and I have only had 1 repair to date (antilock brake servo manifold) - replaced with used part for around $100 and $30 worth of brake fluid. Mobile 1 oil, factory Hyundai oil filters, air filter, tires and recently, a new battery due to age. One of the BEST undervalued cars currently on the market. It's also a dead ringer for a late 2000's S-class Mercedes Benz. In 2015, I paid $19,500 which was WAY less than half price from the sticker.

Have several friends who have bought Genesis vehicles, they all seem to be very happy with them. Lexus is also an excellent product if you don’t mind spending a little more.

Genesis is still a young comer into the luxury segment. They’re ok. But their depreciation is huge! No one wants a genesis used! Only Genesis Hyundai is likely to buy it back with huge losses.

I love my 2014 3.8. Absolutely no issues with it at all. Best car I've ever owned.

I have a 2013 Genesis 2013 3.8 Sedan with 185,000 miles. I bought it used with 36,0000 miles. I had to replace the driver side window regulator and the fuel gage sensor went bad. Both went bad at around 183,000. The Hyundai Genesis has treated me very well.

Scotty, my 2009 Genesis 3.8. Sedan has 145k miles and runs 100% like New! Best value in used cars if you can deal with rear drive.

Easy fix! Check the variable valve control solenoid in bank 1 and the wiring which leads around hot parts of the engine. Those things are notoriously bad in these cars. $100 part and takes 20 min. Idles smooth like a champ again. Oh yeah, tell him to change the oil more often with those GDI, the small passages of these valves get easily clogged.

I love my 2011 Genesis 3.8! Had her since new and she only has 91k now. It's the old port injected engine that tends to hold up better over time. Plus, the pre-2012 3.8 models use Aisin (Toyota) 6 speed transmissions. These are great, reliable vehicles for a great price if you find the right one.

I am not buying that the cams have worn out even a little after 100 k, more likely a dirty intake or valves being a direct injection engine, clean and fix the problem I suspect.

I test drove one of these back around 2009. I was at the dealership looking at the Accent, but commented on the beautiful Genesis and asked the salesman about it. He was bored, so we took it for a test drive. What a nice car! I'm glad to hear owners are happy with theirs and reliability is proving to be very good overall.
