Pebble sheen and pebble tec have been around for decades and they are, at least in my opinion, the Rolls Royce of swimming pool finishes. Everything you want in a pool finish, from looks to durability and reliability, great on chemicals, you'll find in a pebble sheen or pebble tec pool.
PebbleTec pool surfaces use domestic and imported pebbles, glass beads, and sometimes even seashells to get the right finish and texture. Now because it's the Rolls Royce of swimming pool finishes, you're going to pay Rolls Royce prices. In comparison, for a plaster swimming pool, the average cost is about $4 per square foot while pebble tec or sheen can be upward of about $10 per sq. ft.
The main difference between pebble sheen and pebble tec is the size of the pebbles. Pebble Sheen uses the same finish technology as Pebble Tec, just with smaller stones.

I’m in the middle of pool restoration choices and I have plaster now. Is pebble sheen smooth? I’m concerned how it feels ?

There is a different feeling compared to conventional plaster. Surfaces are really a personal choice. It's best to try them out and see which one you like and fits your budget. There really is no "it feels better" when it comes to pool surfaces. Thanks for watching.

I still do not know WHY you like pebble sheen or pebble tech better than plaster/GUNITE. It seems merely the durability in years. But you pay the same over that period of time if not less by Re plastering after 10-15 years. I think also plaster is easier on the feet. I’m just trying to learn of ANY pebble tech huge benefits.
