The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel kzread.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

After a day like that. There's nothing like a moose track cone 😄. It's super cool to have a wife that understands your passions.

Had the same thing happen on crankbaits this weekend fishing a tournament. Those pre-spawners just do not seem to fully commit to the crankbait sometimes. But netted them and bam popped right out. Uncut videos are a great idea and love that you always stay engaged.

A 10 out of lavon is something to be proud of. You’re part of a very small group of us that has cracked that mark. There are tons of 3-7lb fish to be caught though. This time of year, you can repeat this pattern on any north Texas lake with riprap. It gets a little tougher after the spawn though haha.

I clicked on this video thinking I might watch ten minutes or so and maybe fast forward to the fish catches. I ended up watching the entire 2 hours and enjoyed every minute of it. Cranking rip-rap is one of my favorite ways to fish so that was the hook that kept me there... well that and the giant bass. 😮

Lived in Princeton for a year and fished lavon a lot. Caught some really big ones in there. Most people don’t believe it but they are in there. It is tough to fish. Locals mainly fish for cats and crappie. I’ve always had good luck fishing the rock. Spinnerbait, chatterbait, rattle traps and crank baits get the job done. Texas rig and jigs around shallow timber

Black raspberry FTW. Finally got to this one as I was on vacay fishing. What an awesome day. Also, I laughed when you told the guy to walk the bank and then proceeded to get the 10 like 50 yards away down the bank from where he was. Guy was probably like “that could’ve been me!!!”

What a great video and great day of fishing and catching big ones. I live in Kentucky now, but in 5 years I will be retiring and moving to Texas for some of those big bass. Vanilla and God Bless.

The ones I barely hook I always seem to land and the ones im not worried about losing are the ones that headshake one time and come off lol.

In my experience it doesn’t seem to bother the bigger bass when a Herron takes off or gets spooked by a angler. I’ve found that if the birds that eat fish are close up on the bank the fish are there. Just a matter of throwing something they want.

That happened to me last Friday, wind was blowing 100 mph and I was fishing a small pond by the house and I was throwing a lipless crank and a 2lb just destroyed it! And it was sideways in his mouth lol and then tens minutes later a few yards down the bank I lip a 6lb! But it was a lighter hit and was hook on the out side of the mouth lol. That’s my PB so far lol. God bless brother and tight lines! O and hit me up man these Fram ponds I fish I’ve heard of tens being pulled out! Come down to south GA , everything in Texas ain’t as big as they are in GA! Lol

Tyler, not only does the Hybrid Hunter work on rocks, it also catches White Bass on rocks! Caught two 1.25 lb sandies this morning on a Hybrid Hunter, running it parallel to a rocky bank. Probably no more than 4 ft of water. Oh, and Cookie Dough ice cream!

It's a power plant lake and it's a small lake so it's good chance you're going to have undercurrents of warmer water

Last month i lost a giant fishing the dam side off the lake on a rattle trap. Hit it about four feet from the kayak and my lure actually made a pop noise when it came out the water and opened it mouth. Heart 💔
