These are some messy people. A middle-age woman with a child of her own takes in a teen because she knew the family and was never paid a dime? The teen gets job and has a joint account with the woman she's living with? In Part 1 did the teen say she paid for wifi and the entire household used it? This is too confusing for me.

Yea this is a very convoluted scheme. Haven't these people ever heard of direct deposit? Every bank and employer can easily set that up. Banks will even pay you to get it set up. Then she gets a debit card and a banking app and none of this would have happened. Who the hell would arrange this weird scheme of cashing the check and handing some unknown percentage to a third party who then allegedly puts it back into a joint account from which she's also debiting for things she allegedly bought for you. That makes no sense.

I don't feel that the girls are lying, I think they were taken advantage of by Cockatoo Karen over there and the older sister had to start taking care of her young sister and she just wanted to make sure she her little sister got the information right that she told JJ. It seems that the older sister was the one who thought she was going to speak primarily to JJ and they weren't expecting for the little sister to talk so much and it sidetracked them. I feel that the nudge was just to say make sure you get the dates right and the money info right, because JJ is very specific when it comes to those things. Everyone who goes on the show, if they're smart, watches the show at least a little bit beforehand to know what to expect. This is all coming from someone who was severally taken advantage of by his family (me) and had a mother that would stomp on his foot or bump his knee when she wanted him to say the "right" thing. My mom has thought I was an idiot my whole life, but I'm not, she's a helpless moron and can't do anything to defend herself. When she'd bump my knee or stomp on my foot I'd call her out for doing so, she'd get royally upset.

I get exactly what happened. This bad girl that noone wanted went to live with this woman who took care of her on her own dime. They only had wifi in the house, probably couldn't afford more cause this woman is taking care of this girl, her daughter and grandkids. So when the girl got a job she said I'll pay for the cable so we can have real tv. She cashes her checks so the woman can't see how much she really gets. Then they have a falling out. The older sister who hasn't helped all 5 years this woman was taking care of her little sister finds out about the account and they hatch a scheme. I believe her about the school money too. I tried to bribe a younger relative to stay in school similarly. Some people aren't motivated on their own to do well.

She had her van towed and wont even tell her who towed it. I believe she atleast knows who towed it. *Then again~ if she still doesn't know(unlikely) then i have -0- thought on that. The big sister is fidgety as all get up! She is clearly pulling some strings. Seeing stuff from the outside and drawing silly conclusions of theft. She’s the hype man for the little sister for sure. She probably wouldn’t be in court unless her big sis was there telling her to. Good for the sister for trying to look out for her, but she’s going about it a bit messy and incorrect. Judge Judy broke this down the best she could. Hopefully big sister sees that she was a bit off on her conclusions of the defendant.

She gave you $78 dollars cash twice? If so wouldn't she have emptied out the account just from having her pay cable bill(OR WHATEVER)? She probably was spending the girls money, all the parents in my family definitely have to pay a bill or get this or that to be honest right or wrong. But they all should just be honest, and if they're foster kids she's likely getting some money from the government for them.

I was gon say! I hate to say this but in my family you ain't getting money if you're a kid. We were broke so whenever we got birthday money my mom would "hold" it for us. I remember asking and my mom said "you enjoyed food and electricity with that money." I think this is what happened here. 100 here and 100 there for food and utilities was taken out.

@@smutjunkies559 no but fr! It’s kinda sad but we all got “got” if you know what I mean. It is what it is, I already knew when I started working not to have a joint account or parent-child account because to me if you’re old enough to be making money you should govern how you use it (and if i had one my mom probably would have wiped me out we struggled) But mom was still asking for money so 🤷🏽‍♀️

@@TheEjordan01 I know the process. Parents really think it's okay to steal from the child. Like child support for example. You'll see the mother or father wearing new clothing and the house be empty asf. Sadly it happens. My mom forced me to pay rent and even stole money out my wallet a lot but allowed her ex-boyfriend to stay rent-free and eat up everything for years. I was even forced to be paying his part of the rent for 2 years after he didn't bother. Thankfully I moved out when I turned 23 a few months ago and I own my house. I don't have the best relationship with my mother anymore, barely speaking to her but I'm happily content with my father though.

@@amethystthedarkrai648 Amethyst no child should have to deal with what you have dealt with. A parent suppose to be someone you can trust and have your best interests at heart. Your mom loves money more than you, so any future interactions you may have with her, keep money out of it. I know. I wish you the best and stay sweet, don't let what happened to you make you bitter and untrusting. There are good people out here in the world, observe and take your time finding them.

There was no mention of her being a foster child by either the plaintiff or the defendant so I don’t she was a foster child. in which case at least in my family’s state there would be no money from the state. My cousin has legal guardianship over her niece. She doesn’t receive money from either of her parents or the government because the parents are crap and her niece was never in foster care. The guardianship comes through a document drafted by an attorney , voluntarily signed by the parents and filed in court. My cousin pays all of the child’s expenses. Even in previous generations of my family this has been the case when people took in relatives’ children. All handled privately by with attorneys.. The defendant would have to go through a certification process to even have thegirl stay with her if the girl was a foster child. According to the plaintiffs the defendant supported the girl for years on her own dime. She’s not even an actual relative.,IMO Even if the defendant stole the money I would be like whatever and move on.

it's absolutely possible to pay the Walmart cell phone plan with what she kept. her checks probably were around $200 a week. 25% of that is $50. so $50 a week 4 weeks is $200 a month. Straight talk cell phone plan start as low as$35 a month. If she was keeping 50 a week she could certainly afford a $30 a month phone bill that's nothing and she was still plenty left over cuz she didn't have any other bills. Furthermore the lady literally admitted she took out $78 a month of the girls money for the cable bill. so if the girl only ever gave her $76 total how was she taking out 78 a month for the cable bill every month? she's lying through her teeth. Cory might be also lying a little bit about how much was actually deposited and stolen, but I do believe that she was taking out money every month and that it was much more than $76 total cuz she already admitted to taking out 78 for the cable bill every month and admitted that it was Corey's money.

I think this is a 17yo kid who doesn't realize how much money she spent. My kids were the same way, they would soend money here and there and then be astonished they were broke. I feel bad these 2 girls had shit parents, but I don't hink this woman did anything shady to her and the older sister seems to be on a vindictive streak by towing the van and not telling her where it went. This woman needs to call the police and tell them what happened so they can find her van and if it was illegally towed then she should bring her to court for the impound and towing fees. This woman did a good thing and kept these kids out of foster care, and it seems to me she is trying to teach her some responsibility with paying of a phone and cable bill, we had our kids pay their own phone bills and give 25 a week towards groceries. It worked, they are all responsible with their money.
