Did Ferrari Steal Their Design? Maserati GranTurismo S 4.7

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Welcome to Azizdrives where today we're exploring the Italian masterpiece - the 2008 Maserati GranTurismo S, a car that epitomizes elegance and power. This video isn't just a review; it's an immersive journey into the heart of Italian automotive excellence.
The Maserati GranTurismo S stands out with its timeless design, a testament to its production span from 2007 to 2019. Its stunning aesthetics, reminiscent of classic Maserati models, are complemented by a robust 4.7 L Ferrari V8 engine. This engine, shared with the likes of the Alpha Romeo 8C and Ferrari California, delivers a formidable 440 horsepower and 490 Newton M of torque.
We delve deep into the GranTurismo's features, from its iconic grille and elegant headlights to the practical aspects of its spacious trunk and interior. The car's design, a result of a rushed development due to Ferrari's design adoption, turned out to be a serendipitous success, leading to this beautiful creation.
However, the GranTurismo S is not just about looks. Its performance is equally impressive, with a 0 to 100 kph sprint in just 4.9 seconds and a top speed of around 300 kph. We discuss the two gearbox options - the sporty, albeit costly, F1 transmission from Ferrari and the more reliable ZF automatic transmission.
Inside, the GranTurismo S offers a blend of luxury and comfort. The rich leather interior, the ergonomic steering wheel, and the spacious rear seats make it a pleasure to be in, both as a driver and a passenger. While the infotainment system may not be the highlight, the overall interior experience is undeniably premium.
Join us as we take you through the nuances of driving this Italian beauty, from its exhilarating sound to its comfortable yet sporty ride. Whether you're a car enthusiast or a potential buyer, this video is your gateway to understanding what makes the Maserati GranTurismo S a timeless classic.

I own a 2014 Maserati Granturismo Sport with the automatic gearbox from ZF since a few weeks. For me it is the most wounderful design a car can have and as you stated it seems to be timeless, because even on the new model 2023 the silhoutte is basically unchanged. I do not know any car in the market which had a design that kept for over 15 years now. On top, even my sons being 31 and 28 years old, find the design of the car great. What else should one say about the design when even the younger generation likes it. What I find strange is that many reviewers complain about the multi media or board computer system. First of all I find it integrates nicely from the look in the interior design. The handling is not better or wrost as in my 2009 Mercedes Benz S-Class, a car from the same period in which the Maserati GranTurism came to the market. As with any board computer system, one has to spent a bit of time to get used to it. I have no complains about it, I found everything that I need, and as said, not better or worst as in my Mercedes Benz S-Class. What is a bit of a pity is the "Sticky Knobs" which many european cars sufferd from that time. In mine it is not very bad, but I will have to take care about it in the next months. Other than that, the Maserati Granturismo is the most emotional car I ever have driven.

The front bumper is for the final version of the Granturismo line up and not for this model year so there are points that are not as accurate like the front side grill not cooling the brake this model would have had the fog lights from the earlier versions of the Granturismo. You can tell by the interrior seat design made for the earlier models and not for the later model cars. I have owned the first model of the 4.2 Granturismo and now have a 4.7 Gran Cabrio Sport fun car to drive not the most expensive car but does give you a thrill on those weekend drives. Nice review either way.

You have to have the F1 gearbox. MC shift. 5000revs 85% throttle and 100ms gearchange.

Good video overall but I disagree about the comments regarding the single clutch automated manual being “terrible”. I have a GranSport with the CambioCorsa transmission and it is a fantastic gearbox. A lot of negative comments about this and the Ferrari F1 system are mainly from people who expect it to drive like an automatic and haven’t invested the time to get to know the gearbox. Sport mode with manual shifting is glorious!

This example is a strange mixture. The bumper and grille do not match the model year. It has had the final facelift front end grafted on.

Wouldnt the automatic transmission have slower gear shift and quieter exhaust notes?

Never used the infotainment system in mine for the 2 years of ownership. Windows down, sport mode on and that's all you need. Biggest gripe for me is how far the wheels are set in and the cavernous space at the top of them (20" wheels). I've seen 4x4's with a less gap !
