For those of use who overland. You can disconnect the drivers door harness and keep the jeep in electric mode while camping. Meaning you can run the ac or heat all night on the hybrid battery . It's a 400v 17kwh battery. The 400v hybrid battery keeps the 12v battery charged even with vehicle off at 13.9 v We ran ac on level 1 , charging laptop and watched "when Harry met Sally" woke up 8hrs later with 40% hybrid battery left and full 12v

Finally enjoying my mall crawler Jeep Sahara that I ordered in June. Was it worth the wait? Yes it was. The 4xe isn't for everyone. I drive 23 miles one way for my commute to work in heavy traffic. All battery to work, hybrid back home. What's surprised me is how efficient this Jeep is in heavy traffic with no battery left. I definitely recommend this as and urban or suburban commuter.

The smartest car person on internet! The best tests! Sarah is a trained Air Force aerospace technician and diesel tech and Xperia! Sarah you are awesome!

I bought this model Jeep last December in large part to this excellent review. Thanks for being thorough and talking about the specs in detail.

Great Review Sarah. Im giving it 5 Penguins. Oh and awesome ta tas...i mean Outfit. I like how it was color coordinated w/ the Jeep. And that was a pretty color. And pretty headlights too.

That's AWESOME to know! The mfrs have finally brought a capable Jeep to market that isn't a fuel-hog. My 4cyl/5spd YJ barely got 15-20 MPG, even stock.

Hi Sarah - that was awesome. I got the Sahara 4xe and have not put any mods on yet. I push it a little more each time I go out, but after seeing it almost make up that hill with full air in the tires, I might be a bit more daring. I have put on about 900 miles, 600 electric, 300 gas - mostly local driving and multiple charges per day. This jeep is super fun. At some point, the lift will happen, the sway bar disconnects, the diff lockers etc. But for now, it is still super fun off road and on.

I have the 2024 4xe Willy’s with 10,000 hard miles it still drives like day one and we still love it it is truly amazing

This vehicle qualifies for federal tax credits and state credits for being a plug in. Definitely makes the vehicle a much better buy when you take that into consideration

This was a fun review. To be honest, this is the most off roading a Wrangler 4Xe is ever going to see. Most of them the most incline they're going to see is the speed bump at Kroger Parking Lot

People don't wheel or use their rigs anymore. My 97' Dodge dually has been places that surprised some of the local Jeep guys. I don't trash my truck but I know where it can go and what the limits are. And hey it works out. Fewer people in the mountains means more room for me.

You don't know how people are going to use their Wranger 4xe. They're made in other trims besides this, and a simple swap to offroad rims/35s can make even these street-biased trims pretty darn capable offroad compared to something like a RAV4 Prime. Install a winch, air down the offroad 35s, and disconnect the anti-swaybars, then go on almost any trail. Install a lunchbox locker up front if you want to get nuts, but BrakeLock comes on every JL/JLU/JT. People are even wheeling in Subarus, SX4s, CRVs, Ridgelines, AWD/4WD vans, and Lexus SUVs these days. Maybe travel further away from home.

@@fredandersen9873 What are you spending an extra $20K on? A winch is a few hundred $$. A lunchbox locker is a few hundred $$. 35s and rims can be had for well under $2K. No Jeep comes from the factory with a winch and 35s. AFAIK, none ever has. Besides, like I said, the 4xe is available in other trims, like Rubicon.

Thrupennies appear more voluminous in this feature than others I have enjoyed. Really well done on production and edits. The threepence piece, 3d, or thrupenny bit is a Biritish monetary coin that was in circulation for hundreds of years until 1970. Still a very pleasing coin to collect or simply handle.

May not have felt like it but those were some of the best donuts of any vehicle you've tested. And to get that high on that incline with street tires is a testament to Jeep capability. Shoulda done a "Duck" score instead of penguin...someone will understand that.

I get the high altitude mall crawler idea; after all, people in Denver have to go shopping somewhere, and they might as well have a cool vehicle to do it in. It's funny how small the brake rotors looked behind those giant wheels. I imagine the Rubicon 4xe would have climbed that second hill without much trouble; even this one with more aggressive tires probably would have made it considering how far it got on the all-season tires. Great review, and as always your jokes are fire.

All your talk about spaceships made me think of the spaceship I got to drive this week - the sublime Mercedes EQS. You got to test that car as soon as you can lay your hands on one. It even got spaceship noises :D - by far the most enjoyable big luxury car I have ever driven!
