May The Fourth Be With YOU... unless you happen to be Rey Skywalker (Palpatine, actually) because Disney seemed to left her completely out the Hype Trailer.

Well...theoretically speaking... If they brought back Gina Carano/Cara Dune, dumped the ST, fixed the Disney+ characters and ignored all the crap D+ shows they were forced to push out that resulted from the slander and libel they used to cancel Gina, then started pumping out good stories with strong characterization for all demographics (in the shows themselves and in the audience mind you) without prioritizing any over any others... Everyone would go back. In a heartbeat. They need to do literally every one of those things however AND have actual damn alien characters, good chase and fight scenes, large space battles and warfare scenes, aerial dogfighting, novel use of the force combined with all that, set pieces, big revelatory moments and some esoteric philosophical distillations that tie into the themes and/or character's arcs...then...and ONLY then, will it be REAL Star Wars again. That's the secret sauce. Also, make it about the hero's journey. Besides that make it about moral objectivity (what the Jedi should represent) rightly triumphing over moral relativism (what the Sith should represent) instead of these activists trying to flip the script because their propaganda inherently and explicitly goes against that. If i could get in a Star Wars writer's room i could single-handedly turn it around. It'd be like the film 12 Angry Men... I'd list all i said prior and do a quick and dirty presentation right off the jump so i get the lead creatives and majority onboard, make sure i put it on a whiteboard and then keep circling back to it whenever anyone got off in the weeds. You do this enough and others will support you and take their turns doing it if they see lead(s) supporting it. If there isn't an inspired way to incorporate things ppl suggest you list em to the side and promise to circle back (this is a normal writers' room MO). If there are bad activist ideas in that list that are counter to your aims you suggest seemingly unrelated things which will work well but will make it impossible to incorporate the bad ideas without causing a plot hole or character/narrative inconsistency. Keep those things in your back pocket and exaggerate and add to them and practice rifling it off as though it just came to you in a moment of inspiration when you are seemingly really putting thought into it. If the activist(s) continue to push, you get lead creative(s) aside later and address your concerns saying you didn't wanna cause an issue so they can handle it tactfully (they will suggest/do that because your interests will align due to that sort of thing being in their job description) without you debating the activist(s) and causing the team lead(s) to feel they have to throw said activist(s) a bone which would compromise the integrity of the project. If this occurs then the next thing you suggest you make sure it's something that can be spun and put across to be viewed by the likely now suspicious activist(s) as though it's you trying to help their cause when it's really a harmless plant idea you can support to appease them (also do this away from others) when they pitch it (if it's a good idea everyone will agree to support them because ppl don't like feeling like they are not being fair to anyone). Use the mob mentality to your advantage. You gotta stay big picture and if you know what makes the enemy and your allies tick you can manipulate them all without them even realizing so long as you never engage them directly or dictate to them overtly. You can even subtly push to arrange things in a way that puts your and others' good ideas adjacent to the activists' little perceived "wins" so that editors will be forced to cut them if they are ultimately irrelevant fat that should be trimmed. This methodology is basically the chapter in Sun Tzu's the Art of War titled "Energy" only reapplied to herding cats as opposed to maneuvering a large army or engaging an overwhelming force lol. It's the principle of wu wei in the Tao Te Ching, Bruce Lee's Water quote pretty much. They can never know your true mind, they can never mount a defence, never grasp you, never see the attack because you've led them to defeat themselves by knowing their mind. To go back to and quote The Art of War: “For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill. The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.” ~Sun Tzu Damn that's a great concept for a Jedi master. Now i'm just thinking of all the ways i could tie that into all the stuff i said... That's precisely why Master Plo Koon is my favourite Jedi actually. Man i wish i could write a film about him mentoring a former Sith apprentice against all the other Jedis' wishes cuz they think the apprentice is a double agent and have Plo use that very principle i just described in the paragraph prior to slowly convince everyone (à la 12 Angry Men because that is essentially the underlying theme of that film ;) Have it all tie into and become this huge redemption arc for the former Sith apprentice (whilst mirroring that arc on smaller scales with supporting characters through Master Plo's influence to add cumulative weight to that primary theme/principle) who sees it all as a manifestation of the light side of the force and so he comes to naturally understand how calm resolve, self-awareness, self-actualization and personal responsibility gets results under even the most adverse odds (as opposed to the Sith always failing due to leveraging their passion in all the ways counter to those righteous values and principles). Oh damn i'm on a roll here now i gotta finish it 😅 Oh btw did anyone notice yet that the underlying/complimentary theme in all this is essentially just The Golden Rule? Anyway where was i? ...Oh yes! Have the apprentice become a double agent so nobody knows who to trust but he ends up thwarting a huge conspiracy that would have killed countless ppl and Jedi. Then he almost gets killed by the Sith lord and his new apprentice cuz the lord knew and was actually using him to divide and conquer the council. When it looks like all is lost and Master Plo is gonna sacrifice himself to try to save his apprentice (cuz by then you know just how he rolls) the most skeptical Jedi who was the hardest against the whole thing steps up and wrecks the lord saving them both cuz he felt so bad about being so narrow-minded and controlling he was worried if anything happened to them he'd never forgive himself. And now nothing. Disney took something i truly loved and intentionally destroyed it. The only pleasure i get from Star Wars now is seeing youtubers rubbishing the increasingly terrible shows that i have no intention of ever watching. Worst part of all this is it didn't have to be this way; but what's happened is exactly what they wanted. But my thanks to Disney for saving me a few thousand dollars every year

If Disney thinks this is about "boy brand"..."girl brand"....the cycle of crap will just continue. It's about cohesive compelling story telling without forcing "agendas" down the throats of potential consumers. At least Lucas made "HIS" movies for himself and hoped the fans liked it as well....Disney is making movies for a weird niche group who don't really care about Star Wars to begin with....and alienating the already in place fans. 25 years from now they'll be documentaries on them showing the journey from "penthouse to outhouse" by ignoring/destroying everything that got you to the penthouse to begin with.

  • @AnoneemusNoename

Correct. What people used to erroneously refer to as "boy brands" were actually "people brands" and what ppl now call "girl brands" are actually "nobody brands" dues to activism (except for super niche stuff like Barbie and Rom coms and BS like that, that is girl shit, maybe strictly martial arts films or something could be considered guy shit but ppl go with their significant others to watch the stuff they dislike regardless so there is always a bit of overlap)

Disney will never produce a swash-buckling, over confident, anti-PC, alpha-male character like Han Solo even if they do go back to boy brand. A script will never make it out of committee with lines like _"Not this ship, sister!"_ mainsplaining to a female. You will never see it. They cannot and will not do it. Their idea of boybrand is the movie "Solo". _"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid"_ They wouldn't approve even the calling someone a kid. They don't have this in their DNA, and it's why Star Wars is dead.

Everything has a breaking point. Wokeness has been kept alive through every sort of dirty trick in the book, but even those have to exhaust themselves eventually. To be specific, wokeness has been kept going by the following dirty tricks, among others: - Calling the fans racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic/Nazis in order to discourage listening to the paying customers. - Shunning almost any director, actor, writer, or anyone in Hollywood who supports the fans or disagrees with the Hollywood ideological narrative, such as Gina Carano. - Pushing the myth of the "modern audience" and pushing fake, exaggerated, or out-of-context numbers to give a false sense that getting woke is good for business. Lying about money. - Getting shills to pretend to like the woke products, label them "superfans" (as if that means anything), and gaslight the public and Hollywood execs into thinking people like that crap. - Tying huge amounts of investment money to ESG, DIE, and other woke arbitrary scores to incentivize producing woke content, no matter how much money is lost in the process. - Having "journalists" write articles which lie, mislead, and gaslight whoever reads them into thinking that none of this is happening. None of this can last much longer. People have cried wolf on the "Nazi fans" for so long, no one listens. The "modern audience" they said would show up never did. Nobody is being fooled by fake financials anymore, and there have been enough woke bombs to disprove the idea that getting woke means getting rich. It's get woke, go broke most of the time. As for those fake "journalists", they have ruined their reputations by shilling to the woke crowd and are going out of business because of it.

Since Disney is INCAPABLE of making Star Wars why don't they license out different EU stories to different creatives like George did with the books. I want AGC and Neil Blomkamp to make a Cade Skywalker vs Darth Krayt movie and with budgets of 100-150m you don't need to make a billion every movie.

Memberberries!! Is there an apology? Is there the actual release of a new movie that fans want? The ship has sailed. You can’t fix what you’ve broken. The big three won’t be together again on the screen. It’s over for them. They can’t keep churning out content and pretend the last five years haven’t happened. That they didn’t insult their fans and destroy their franchises.

Was that Kylo? Was Kylo a black guy????? They really don't need to make a boy brand. They need to stop hiring activists and dial back the desperation for the "girlboss pickup scenes" by 50%.... Baby Leah running and Sabine on her bike are nowhere near cool enough to justify the camera shots and music they gave them.... Maybe if you hire pros instead of activists, you could actually write scenes cool enough to make it work????

I noticed there is no actual movie footage of the OT as well. Just Hamill interview, him with Fisher rehearsing and R2. So how much should we read into this I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♂️ They also have THE ACOLYTE bits in it too so you would think if they’re going in a new direction and I hope it’s true 🤞🏻 what Pro’s sources saying about going back to boy brand, they would leave that on the editing floor as well as any sequel footage 😊

Too late, Disney. Nothing short of dramatic and visible changes at Lucasfilm and a complete decanonizing of the sequels will even have a remote chance at fixing Star Wars. Heads need to roll publicly, especially KK's, Hidalgo's, everyone involved in the whisper campaign against Gina Carano, and everyone who thought it was a good idea to waste the opportunity to get the original trio together again. Then, more importantly, you need to replace them with people who understand Star Wars and are not interested in using it as a mouthpiece for their ideology. If Disney does all this, then Star Wars stands a chance. However, I don't expect to see them doing even a third of that. There is too much hubris and arrogance there to allow them to take such actions or publicly admit they messed everything up.

All I saw in that ad for Star Wars was, "I want your money, give me your money"... this is the Disney experience including Star Wars. Member berries won't bring me back and I suspect it's the same for many, many other ex Star Wars fans. Begging us to be loyal and go back is a joke given how disloyal and dis respectful of the franchise everyone involved with the creative decisions have been to us and the original material. Let it die and the billions Disney spent on their propaganda platform burn!!!
