@@alwaysrootingfortheantihero123no the problem isn’t the discussion of the lgbtq community the problem is the fact that Abby (and most people who’ve grown up surrounded by homophobia) sexualize the community. It’s not creepy to say to a kid “it doesn’t matter who you love” but she didn’t say that she immediately made it about sex. And most people do , that’s why a lot of parents have the problems they do with gay representation , they oversexualize gay people and think the only way to show that they exist is in a sexual manner ,which isn’t the case. You can have discussions about this topic and it be innocent and normal but most people can’t because they don’t see gay love as innocent and normal.

3:19 I’ve always noticed how Abby WANTED to BE Kelly and this why she was the most horrible to her. Abby was never able to dance like Kelly so she lived vicariously through her being extra harsh on her during dance practice and this why she is so bitter when Kelly left dance and extra Bitter when her new chance of living through Kelly was gone with Brooke doing the same and quitting dance for cheerleading until she moved on to Kalani ( if you remember this episode where the moms noticed Abby wants to be kalani). But this woman wanted to be Kelly SO BAD she had pictures of Kelly’s husband in HER ROOM and MADE him hang them for her. This is WILDLY creepy.

I also noticed moments of Abby being jealous of how Kelly was more commercially pretty than her and i feel like she took this jealousy out on Paige because Paige was beautiful child. There’s also this moment when Kelly told Abby to “stop eating that’s why you’re fat” Abby said “When you’re a mean girl at twelve, you’re still a mean girl”. Those two have a very interesting relationship that i wish someone would make a video highlighting it.

I remember Abby always saying things like “I pride myself on my male dancers being masculine” and stuff like that. We need to get rid of that attitude in the dance industry. It kind of just pushes this very binary attitude about gender. Especially when we’re dealing with children in the early stages of figuring out who they are. Girls don’t need to dance feminine and boys don’t need to dance masculine, just let them dance in a way that feels authentic to them. As a non binary person, I was lucky that my dance teachers never tried to push me to dance or be a certain way other than myself, but I know that’s not the experience for many dancers in the lgbt community, and that breaks my heart.

Hi, I just wanted to say that you, out of all of the dance moms content creators on social media, are hands down the best for many reasons. You methodically go through each point, whether it's talking about individual episodes or tackling a specific question or topic. You talk about corrections to your initial thoughts and why. You base your information on producer notes and always say if it's your opinion. I can't imagine the countless hours you put into research, collating footage, voice overs, editing, uploading and responding to comments while making so much high quality content. You deserve every success. I feel like as humans we will complain about negatives whether it's in a youtube comment section or a restaurant. I feel it's really important to tell a person/a company the things they excel at hence the reason for my comment. 😊

I will say the ONLY thing Abby is correct about is being a masculine dancer as a male. Your sexuality does not matter in dance, but if you identify as male, you ARE expected to perform like one. This comes from my Dance Co. DIRECTOR/choreographer/dancer. He expects ALL men to be masculine and strong. Outside of that, vogue, vogue, vogue behind stage, and after the show. But on stage you are to be masculine. No gay man in my company or others I've worked with had issues with this.

can you make a video on the inconsistency of abby and maddie falling out? For example, it doesnt make since as to why sia would let lilly star in a music video while still dancing for abby lee in season 7. Why would she let lilly star in a video if maddie and abby hate each other? They obviously saw her on dance moms considering lilly wasnt famous or viral before then and sia wanted maddie because she saw her on dance moms. If that was her god child i wouldnt see her doing that since its ties to abby and maddie doesnt even know lilly. Plus abby still mentioned maddie in good light in season 7. I believe maddie is covering up for melissa and saying they fell out right after but abby is spiteful and petty. She wouldnt talk about maddie in a good light if they did. She especially wouldnt like lilly dancing for sia and vice versa for sia not wanting lilly if abby is spiteful. I think something happened during or after court and thats why they fell out. Abby found out something and thats when maddie, kenzie, and mellisa distanced themselves. It all just doesnt make any sense

This comment might not be super related to this video, but based on the way Nia danced in season 1 and maybe 2 I always had a feeling she was there purely so the show could say "Look we have people of color, you can't call us racist!" because, not trying to be rude, her dancing wasn't on the same level as say Maddie and Chloe. However I think it's really nice to have been able to see Nia turn into the beautiful dancer she is and I do like that they kept her on the show, but the way she was treated and the way she danced in seasons 1 and 2 she didn't seem like she belonged on that team.
