listen gang! you can’t just show poncho and then not except us to NOT want more poncho! and the idea! and the idea! and the idea! that you feel it’s acceptable to actually introduce such an adorable dog and not give us more is absolutely asinine! O.K folks? my wife is a doctor! OK gang?

Working as a vet I am confronted with the death of dogs and cats everday. I try telling them their pain will soon be over and they‘ll be in a better place. And I desperatly hope that this will be the thruth. They all have beautiful souls and are innocent for their fate.

The Saints had special relationship with nature and Animals example St. Martin de Porres and St Anthony of Padua. They do listen to the word of God and know that our lord Jesus is in the Holy Eucharist!

@@stellarmori God's ways are not Man's ways dear. It is called Speculative Theology for a reason, it is not Defined Infallibly or are binding, one should not fall in heresy. The Gnostics heavily borrowed from Plato the Philosophy not in check can lead Ones soul to Hell not Heaven. Love God above everything not pets, nature or Animals. They all have Souls as St. Thomas Aquinas said but he never went for Definative answering nor compared it, the way we do today. Vegetative, Human and Animal Souls are all different and should be seen as such. Be careful on these Philosophical thinking and findings always keeping in check with Definative Doctrines of the Church.

When my Mom was dying in the hospital, not only did she meet God but she said she saw all of our animals who had passed before, so the franciscan idea of this comforts me greatly.

St Anthony of Padua and many other Saints had special bond with the creation as Jesus not only told to preach to the mankind and all nations but creation too before Ascending into heaven. Plus Animals could understand the Gospel preached and know the presence of the Holy Eucharist if in the Open Space.

After I had to put my first dog, Shadow, to sleep I prayed to God that he would be in heaven and I received a response. In an instance my anxiety was replaced with comfort and peace and the understanding that "Shadow was where he needs to be." I don't know, Where he needs to be, is but I'm comforted to know he's where God needs him to be.

I understand how you feel I lost 3 dogs the past year, God is love and animals glorify God and he loves them so , I believe animals go to heaven etc , if I could do something to let animals and my pet dogs go to heaven I would even sacrifice my place in heaven , it burns me to know if they go or not 😓

@@anaccount8474 Only us humans are capable of demonizing a dumb animal who can’t help its actions. Dogs are basically eternal 2 year olds, and they deserve Heaven a helluva lot more than us. Same can be said for cats, too.

@@anaccount8474 Yes!! That is terrible....but when investigated it always comes back to humans making the mistakes with the dogs and the children. Over breeding, not training properly, leaving small children unattended and on and on and on. Some dogs do not like children and should not be around them. Some dogs are trained to be mean for use as a watch dog...???? Something you never need to do...show love and they naturally protect.

Hayyah means “living” and nephesh means “soul.” It also refers to personality or desire which are aspects of the soul. In the first creation story man and woman are created in God’s image and He decided to let humans govern all animals. But it also tells us that animals have a soul. In Genesis 1:30 it reads: "And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so." This describes animals having hayyah (life). However, in the Hebrew it also has the word nephesh in combination with hayyah, which is the exact same wording as the description of the soul in the creation of Adam in Genesis 2:7. In other words, though nephesh is only translated as “life” here, the Hebrew speaks of the soul. Animals thus have a nephesh hayyah just like Adam.

The role of the Holy Spirit is to enkindle within us the grace we need in order to know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and to know the Father as our Father. Animals dont need this bc they are not sinners and they already know God. We are also the elected species. We were made in the image of God. This means that we were supposed to be God´s representatives on earth, ruling on his behalf. This changed with the original sin, but fortunaly Jesus conquered that job back for us, we just need to repent and folow him.

Two years ago exactly, God brought Luna, via the pound, to save my life. She is a red hair blue eyed wolf husky. It was after thru-hiking the PCT. Oh how God provided what I needed. Tomorrow I am getting confirmed at 51. 🙏

@@jamesparson When you die, you leave behind your body, thus leaving behind all your needs such as food and water so I think when animals die, they go through the same thing, leaving behind their need for meat. Why would there be death in heaven if it is not needed?

My dog died today and I told him that I really believed that God loved me so much that He would allow Timothy to be with me in Heaven when I got there. I cannot even express to you how much this video has helped. I got 13 yrs of unconditional love and support and had to love him back enough to stop a path leading to pain and honor his decision to quit eating days ago. I am now making a collection of helpful pet grief videos, free pet loss zoom groups, etc. for myself and others. You video will be in my collection. I had a much loved cat die 20 yrs ago but it in no way prepared me for this which is painful because my dog (service & therapy) went with me Everywhere and we were never apart for almost 14 yrs. Anyhow, I'll stop now and just say THANK YOU.

Even if our pets don't go to Heaven to be waiting for us. God will create them again for us when we get to Heaven. God wants us to have our desires in Heaven. My thought. But, I know there are animals in Heaven. Because the Bible tell us of the wolf lying down with the lamb and Jesus returning on a white horse. God Bless you.

"Did Christ Die for Dogs?" Two possible answers: 1) Dogs did not sin so there is no need for a savior. 2) Christ bore the redemption not only of Adam but also for the animals and plants under Adam's care. When Adam sinned, the ground produced "thorns and thistles" and Christ took those thorns on his head to the cross.

We are told the wages of sin is death, so if dogs haven't sinned, then they would not die. Dogs do die. Logically, therefore, dogs must sin. Alternatively, they die because they were never created to be immortal, so the question of sin might not apply to them at all. They might go to heaven, or perhaps God had other ideas for them, because they were intended always to be mortal. Humans, therefore, were punished with mortality for sinning, but death wasn't a new concept invented simply to punish us. I've had many tell me that some animals, like horses, are mentioned in the Bible as being in heaven, so animals not mentioned specifically in the Bible as being in heaven (like dogs) are not there. Others say that because we know some animals are in heaven, then it's likely all are in heaven. But who knows? As the friar said, it's all speculation. :)

When a human in later life gains a fracture to the pelvis, death is most prevalent. Trauma too much for the body, and my guess is most the heart. An animal is not more important to a human. Children are starving in this World. Dying related to it, to a tune of 3.1 million. Before Covid-19, annually. Probably more NOW. Charity has dried up most in the World.

@@ciscornBIG Ever read the Books of Maccabees? Genesis 6:4? Related to your suggestion of "meds". Antidepressants cure nothing in a human heart [the spiritual one] and human soul. The consciousness of a human being is NOT contained within the human mind. Antidepressants are frontal lobotomy pills, separate the human being from the human body. Their distortion allows one NOT to gain Heaven. Read Genesis 1:26. The human body is merely the vessel for the human being to sojourn this life. The Test and Testament of the human heart. If your only desire is not HIM, Heaven, then you lose Eternal Life. No one is guaranteed Heaven. Show me in Scriptures or at least prove it to yourself before your human body and free will dies.

I once took my aging dog to the vet for treatment of a tumor (which was later found to be benign, thankfully). While I was in the waiting room, there was a book on the coffee table that contained pictures of dogs and quotations from dozens of people about how precious dogs are in our lives. On one page, there was a large title at the top that read, "Will My Dog Go to Heaven When He Dies?". Beneath, the Rev. Billy Graham had a response to that question. He said, "God will prepare everything for our perfect happiness in Heaven, and if it takes my dog being there, I believe he’ll be there." A few years later, when it came time to have my beloved dog put down, Rev. Graham's words repeatedly surrounded me like a warm blanket. I hold true to those words to this day, and absolutely believe that, when my time on this earth has passed, my loving God will reunite me, not only with my family, but with my beloved dog whom I also consider a treasured family member.

Before Covid-19 approximately 3.1 million children died in this World annually, not by nature causes. Probably greater now since Covid-19 has lessen the need to be charitable. These children died not but bullets or other armament, a disease, or other direct inhumanity. But from the lack of food. Most pets eat better and are treated better in the USA, than those children. i call it a sick society most. "Then God said: Let us make human beings in our image, after our likeness. The human person is the heart inseparable from the soul, the inner life within the body. Made in the Womb of our Lord, the Heart of the Son of God, John 1:3-4. The Breath of Life is Love. At that very moment of conception in Heaven, that seed is stitched within the human body at its first spark on Earth, the conception of the body. The purpose of life is to grow more and more in His Image and Likeness. The Talents Parable, Matthew 25:14-30. To return to Him with more than started with, not the same or less. Earth is about growing in your Relationship with our Lord and Maker, intimacy is to be with HIM most. Why? Because He made you for HIM, Alone. None others. You only want others to find our Lord through you, and you only want our Lord to see you more. Animals can not actually love you, affection is not love and they have no hearts. Animals can not reside in Heaven without a heart and soul. They only exist in Time and Space, Not Eternity.

Life is ONLY a depression, as to only avail you to desire Heaven. He is calling you, child. Those appearing happy are lying to their own heart.

It is through tears that I write this ... The last year has been so hard as I have lost three sacred fur babies. First, one of my horses and then both of my Chihuahuas. These friends have left me here with the other fur babies who I love, but they are all sorely missed. It is so comforting to hear from you that I could indeed be united with my Angels who now watch over me from heaven. Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. You will never know the comfort that you have bestowed ❤️🐾❤️🐾

I think there is a reason Jesus says to "proclaim the Gospel to every CREATURE." I would also point to Jesus saying that not even a single sparrow falls to the ground without the Father's knowledge and though each human is worth more than many sparrows, God is aware of all of His creations.

Father Casey, last week one of my families pet cats passed away very suddenly from a presumed heart attack. She was 11 and we had her since she was just a tiny kitten. She was a huge part of my childhood and she was the sweetest thing you could imagine. My whole family myself included were devastated about it and we are still struggling to move forward. Naturally the topic of this video has been something on my mind a lot since then, and I just wanted to say I really appreciate you talking about it. Thank you and have a great Easter. I don't know what happens to pets when they pass, but I sincerely hope they are saved. As I and a lot of pet owners can attest to, when you have such a close bond with an animal, it's hard not to plainly see the spark of a soul in them.

Excellent Father! Happy Easter! Our pet companions are gifts from God the hardest part is when we have to open our hands and give them back. All of my dogs were a Blessing for me. All cremated to be buried with me. They were such a big part of my life I could never just throw them away.

I lost my poodle Bocce several months ago. I know he’s at my Dad feet in heaven.

Does God need dogs? Does God need us? No to both. Does God want us? Yes. Does God want dogs? I don't know be He made them. When a very loving cat died, I asked God if pets go to heaven. He seemed to saying to me, "If you need pets in for heave to be perfect , there will be pets."

Thank you so so much for this video. My fur baby passed away 6 months ago and I have been struggling. They said she might not make it to 3 and lived to almost 13. I know it was from St. Francis’ intercession. (He heard from me a lot!) The Franciscan approach to all creation going back to God is what I believe!! I will be with her again. 💗

Thank you so much for articulating these views. The Franciscan argument makes the most sense to me, particularly because I don't believe that God is in the business of destroying that which he creates. The Bible speaks of animals in heaven and as part of the new created order ... so why would God create and then permanently destroy the original animals before creating new ones to live in heaven? Instead, I believe that, as you mentioned in relation to the Franciscan argument, animals (and plants for that matter) are reconciled to God because they never sin in life. In everything they do, they are exactly what God made them to be. Through sin, the relationship between God and humans is broken, which is why we need Jesus. But a dog's relationship to their Creator never ceases. Even if that dog does something "bad" by human standards (peeing on the floor or biting someone), they never cease to be the dog that Christ called them to be because, without free will, they cannot choose to sin as humans did.

I don't know if dogs go to heaven but I hope fleas don't.

My cat has been my best friend through the worst bouts of depression I have had recently. If it wasnt for him, I don't know what I would have done. As Christ encouraged us to consider the birds of the air, and how they are given what they need, I ak.eternally grateful for my Cat, Apollo.

There are many Saints who had special relationship with the creation such as St. Martin de Porres and St. Anthony of Padua. St Anthony of Padua preached Gospel and all the sea creatures came out to listen to him. I have also noticed the Differences in behaviour in Animals after seeing drastic changes in them after listening to the word of god or seeing Eucharistic Adoration in Open.

Heaven is NOT our home. It is a temporary stop off point until our bodies RISE and A NEW and wonderful Earth is gifted to us by Our Lord. It will be a perfect Earth as the Earth was meant to be with animals and all of its beauty. Our pets will be there too. If your dog will make you happy you are sure the Lord will give it back to you for all the joy of Lord Will be ours for all of time!!!

I like to imagine heaven like a nice earth, FULL of nature, with free animals living by our side, with fresh fruit from trees, with beautiful houses for everyone, with snow and sun and rain With love everywhere With beautiful libraries for you to read your favorite books and keep on learning about what fascinates you With my dog sleeping by my side like she does every night With my cats asking for pats and kisses With my mother and I giving them love It would not be heaven without animals, mostly, without our animal friends ❤️

Our Lord's Prayer spoke MOST. Heaven is ONLY doing the Father's Will. Earth is a test and testament to the heart, to desire HEAVEN alone.

I know of a lady who was tucking her young son into bed after their family dog had passed away that day. He was, of course, very sad about this. She told him that their dog was "Chasing squirrels in doggy Heaven." His eyes got big and he said, "That means Doggy Heaven and Squirrel Hell are the same place!"

I'd say that Isaiah 11: 6-8 would support dogs going to Heaven. If wolves, bears, leopards, asps, calves, and kids are a part of the redeemed world why wouldn't dogs?

Scriptures is only spiritual, child. Not literal that the human mind could discern. Genesis 1:26 says only humans are made in His Image and Likeness. Eternal is that seed made, alone. Heart and soul, the inner life contained. Not just a body.

That is true but still the damage was done to the creation too, ever heard of the Saints having different approach to Animals and a special bond? Like St. Anthony of Padua and St. Martin de Porres. There are many more out there. Animals behaviour radically changes after listening to gospel cause I have seen it in every place the Gospel is preached and miracles occur.

Yes, but look at the animal kingdom- all the time they do things against God’s Commandments. You can argue they ‘don’t know any better’ which is my point. They don’t, so how is it fair for them to go to Heaven after just living a selfish life full of earthly pleasure, whereas humans can’t do that?

Thank you for the consoling message, Fr. Casey. You are really a Franciscan who loves the creation of God. I always cry at Mass whenever one of our dog dies, always hoping that even if our dogs can’t enter the Pearly Gate, they are waiting for me and my children when the time comes, by the bridge to welcome us, be with us again, jump and run with us, lick us with kisses and comfort us. I believe in this and I hope it will become a reality.❤️❤️❤️💝💝💝

Umm, heaven is not Earth though there will be new one. Read about the Saints who had special bond with the creation of God. Such as St. Martin de Porres and St Anthony of Padua. They do understand the Gospel of Christ preached.

When I had a heart attack, I was very sick, and isolated due to covid. My deceased cat came see me and comfort me. I think he was really there.

Just lost my childhood dog, she was the most beautiful and obedient dog and she gave us a beautiful puppy 💖 thank u for this video

As a person who had a NDE in the past year (clinically dead for 8 minutes, in coma for 20 days from a burst aneurysm) all my dogs, even my current living one were highly present. My first question upon waking up from coma. was 'where's Rowan...he was just right here.' (My current dog). St. Francis was my confirmation Saint, specifically for his love of all Creation, beautifully expressed in his 'Canticle of the Sun.' So from someone who been beyond the Veil....rest assured, any dog you have had a soul bond with in your current life is there with you for all eternity. They wouldn't have it any other way.

I asked this question to a Sunday school teacher once when I was a kid. Her words were no, "because they aren't clean," being a kid the only thing I could take from that was god was worried dogs would track mud in or go on the floor. I wasn't even in kindergarten yet and I was already done with Christianity. Didn't go back to church until my late twenties

I always recall that a well-known British politician Alan Clarke was considering conversion to Catholicism but said he would not do so unless he could be sure his dogs would join him in heaven.

This reminds me of Instances of Saints who had special bond with the creation itself like St. Martin de Porres and St. Anthony of Padua and many more. They could Understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ cause they behave differently after listening to it.

I had to say "the last goodbye" to my dog Zoe and my cat Scout last week. My dog was 15 and went into kidney failure and my cat Scout had cancer, They were best friends in life and chose to go one after the other, Till i die i will believe that they are with my mother in heven waiting for me, I figure God will correct me when i get there. Happy Easter everyone.

Nice! I studied Pierre Teilhard de Chardin in grad school, and this idea that all Creation reflects Divinity in a unique way was the very idea I took away from him as well. So glad to hear you mention him. +++

My dog passed away 2 years ago in my arms. I’ll never forget that day. I believe if God puts them in our life is for a reason my dog was my child, best friend and was there when nobody else was.

What has been seen cannot be unseen… We have now seen Poncho & we are now addicted; we must have Poncho in more videos, lest our hearts be broken… Ok, guilt-trip over! He was adorable, and it'd be lovely to see him again, but even if we don't, we'll still always come back to your channel! 🙏🏻🥰❤️

I genuinely believe God sent me my dog during a really dark time in my life. Truly I believe it saved my life.

Jesus died so our death isnt the end and I agree with you about our pets going to Heaven.

Do check out the Saints who had special bond with the creation of God. Such as St. Martin de Porres and St Anthony of Padua. Main thing is the Animals and Creation do understand the Gospel, as Jesus himself commanded to"... go preach the gospel......all the Creation" before Assension. I have observed Animals have different behaviour after listening to the the Word of God. They also know the presence of the the Divine in the Holy Eucharist if in the Open Space.
