Hello Sir! c: is that the original v50x? I have seen your video of old V50x vs new V50x..

Just wanted to thank you for your reviews I picked up the XTU 3S, on amazon for 77.59

While I cannot confirm this at 100%, I assume that V50X is no longer the good action camera it used to be. The first generation used to have a HiSilicon SoC and since HiSilicon are owned by Huawei, they likely have suffered from the sanctions implied. Perhaps the new revisions of v50X host different hardware (likely the Sunplus v30 line), and they will have much worse overall performance. So no surprise the good old V50x kicks *ss 😎

Yep, I need a new action cam for my 🚲riding. The Akaso v50x is on my🎄list.

Ouch! Well, to their credit, they tried. Maybe next version(s). :)

SJCAM reached out and said they are releasing 3 new models in 2023 and will be sending them to me for early testing. Fingers crossed.

They also released a new firmware for the SJ5000x elite which bumped up the bitrate. Would be nice if you can compare it with the other cameras.

I'll have to check that out, although my 5000X Elite still works fine.

I got the Akaso V50X last year. Great little camera. But get the external mic. The sound is somewhat lacking. But the mic helps. Great stabilization !!!

Yeah the audio is definitely not the best but it has really good image quality and stabilization, especially for $79.

@@WORTHITORNOT Yep, I really like this V50X. The mic does help, and I try to boost the audio when I do the post edit. If the sound doesn’t come out as well as I like, I just try to do a voice over. That’s a good sale price for it. Too bad about the SJ6. I actaully had a SJ4000. Not a bad camera back then. Gave it to a nephew. I think he still uses it. Thanks. For the videos & reviews. 👍

Yes, will agree Andre. The V50X is better for sure. I bought the Campark V30 some years ago, as it was identical to the V50X and it came down to price at the end of the day.

Yes the V30 and the V50X are basically identical except for firmwares, the V30 leaned a bit more contrast and dark but upping the EV helped. Hope you're doing well Glen

I returned my Action 3 after the faulty focus on my unit.

For many of us who have a nostalgia for anything SJ as it was out first action cam back in the day, we have to look upon the entire company as a huge disappointment and series of missed opportunities. While other budget cam manufacturers have upped their game, they keep producing junk. It's really a shame considering they already had us as customers. Yes, I have a stack of action cams but that original SJ is sill sitting on my shelf as I type this. I'll never use it again but just can't bring myself to throw it away.

Same here ! I have a soft spot for SJCAM and still have all of my cameras from them. Hopefully they can turn things around and get back to offering great budget cameras.

Have you ever seen the Wolfgang Ga200? It popped up on my Amazon search today.

Very obvious that the "engineers" are not comparing their product like Worth it or Not with other cameras.

Surprised how SJCAM has fallen in quality. That Sony looks nice 😊

Hi! What version of V50X did you use in this video? is it the updated version? is it ok now? I'm planning to buy one but am a little hesitant because the sound might me chipmunks as per your previous review on the new version of V50X. Hope you can give me some advice. Thank you!

That was the Sony ZV-E10 with the Viltrox 13mm f1.2 lens. Nice little combo

Hello, does anybody know: 1) which is the latest stable firmware version for SJ6 Legend? I am running on 1.4.9, which works well 2) where to get the latest stable version from All I end up to is shady sites, from where I would not download anything. The official SJ site does not offer Firmware files in the support page anymore. Please advise.

I believe all firmware updates are via the SJCAM app now. Really a shame as they used to constantly update firmwares for all their cameras, now the company has really went downhill with innovation, internals and support. And I say all that as I was a HUGE SJCAM supporter 4-7 years ago. My SJ6 Legend has the 1.4.3 firmware and works good

Only camera who beat V50X are Brave 6 Plus… in that price range… I already ordered V50X 😢

You have to use their phone app now and I don't know if they are even offering new firmware updates anymore.

It is a bit smoother with the new firmware, buuuut, the V50X is still way better.

Yes the new firmware did improve the EIS, but it's night and day in the image quality vs the V50X.

Watching on my phone they both looked good, but on my TV the sj6 looked terrible.

Yeah thats always a weird thing, watching virtually any video on a cell phone will look good but on a good computer monitor or TV will really show the defects.

hmmm one looks like there are earth quakes going on with all the shakeing one is out of focus i gess its like the dji action 3 v50x looks a lot better sharper better imgage quatily the SJ6 Pro would be great if you want a camera that makes it look like there are earthquakes going on it might work good on a tripod with no movment what would i pay for the SJ6 Pro i would say maybe 20.00 stick in my car as a dash cam

Hi, the updates didn't work. The SJ 6 PRO still sucks, it's improved but too little, the Akaso V50x is superior in comparison.
