Had the privilege of seeing this magnificent show in Columbus, Oh and Tampa. My baby brother was in the orchestra and Miss Ross was in TOP form as usual !!

They need to release the opening night's full footage on dvd!

The one of her best concert tours!

Wow! Thank you for sharing this rarity! I was lucky enough to see the RTL tour in Toronto when I was 11, going on 12 years old. My first concert ever! I still remember the specialness and excitement of that night. Thank you for sharing, as this brings back memories of that summer :)

Well.. we could moan and groan about what “should’ve been” and “could’ve been”.. but I’m gonna say THIS TOUR SHOULDVE BEEN ABLE TO CONTINUE FROM START TO FINISH. Miss Ross took it upon herself to try in spite of the difficulties and foolishness, to give the fans what we wanted. And…. For all her hard work and trouble, she got a pie in the face.. and it’s SO UNFAIR. And the irony is.. if she were to mount this type of tour NOW.. it would be a resounding success….I’ll leave it there.

Thank you so much for posting this video. I have been hoping for years that to see more footage from and about the RTL tour which I was forunate enough to see at the stop at Madison square garden. It was GREAT show. Please post more videos. Thank you

My goodness, so much footage I've never seen. It looks like it was such an exciting time to be a Supremes fan. It also looks to me like the whole opening concert was filmed! I wonder who has the footage now, and what they plan to do with it.

Also, I wonder if there were plans to release the Supremes hits remixes featured in the EPK? I'm sure those plans were scrapped after the tour ended.

@EricIversen I heard once that Diana, Lynda and Scherrie were going to record an studio album called 'Return To Love' with new versions of Supremes songs. Is that true?

I don't have any memory of that at all.

Just seeing this footage, brought back special moments. I saw the tour in Toronto, Canada. It was wonderful, and high energy. Diana Ross was in fine voice, and the Supremes were just outstanding. I did not even think about Mary at all. If she and Cindy had been backing up Diana, they could not have done, any better. Since Sheri Payne is a very fine singer in her own right, she certainly did a better job than Mary could have. Trust me, you would not have been able to tell the difference, by Mary or Cindy, not being on state with Diana Ross....Yes, Indeed, it is all about the music....Those of you, that did not showup, surely missed a treat. A once in a lifetime treat. It is all about the music..

The commment you wrote concerning Mary and Cindy is very disrespectful and uncalled for... From what i witnessed there were back-up singers along with Shcerrie and Lynda. Let's be clear!! Not to discredit Lynda and Shcerrie because they both are powerful singers!! As 'Diana Ross and The Supremes' in the 60s with their live shows the didn't have additional backgroung singers, in their studio recordings the used The Antantes for the most part...
