В том то и дело, что пока не поднялась зеркальная перегородка они пели каждая свои партии и практически в глухую по отношению к голосу партнёра. А потом они уже увидели и услышали друг друга! The word you are looking for is Contralto. Tony Braxton is also a Contralto like Diana, the difference is that Diana is a Dramatic Contralto with bigger range than Braxton both lower and higher. And for anyone that is interested in trivia, Julia's lowest note in this song was an F3, Tony Braxton's lowest note in her studio version of the song was two notes lower than Julia, at D3 and Diana hit in this live version an A#2 which is two and a half notes lower than Tony Braxton.

@@tazzznphilly Julia is a Mezzo/Soprano, i did not mention this in my previous post so i am saying it here in case anyone was wondering about her vocal type. Mezzo/Soprano are singers like Shakira and Celine Dion. Contraltos are the rarest vocal type, only 2% of the female population have voices like that and it includes singers like Diana, Tony Braxton, Cher etc.

@@tazzznphilly Baritone is for males what Mezzo/Soprano is for females. The Baritone range is lower than the Contralto since it is a male vocal type but it is the equivalent to Mezzo/Soprano category wise. From lowest to highest the main Female vocal types are Contralto - Mezzo/Soprano - Soprano. From lowest to highest the main Male vocal types are Bass - Baritone - Tenor. There are sub categories after this for example Diana is the lowest of the lows even for a Contralto, that is why she is called a Dramatic Contralto, the deepest, darkest most powerful of the Contraltos which is even rarer than rare. If you want to taste an example of the lowest most powerful voices on this Earth listen to a duet Between Ildar Abdrazakov and Diana Ankudinova. Ildar is an Operatic Bass and Diana is a Dramatic Contralto, these kind of duets just do not happen because the voices are very rare.
