Diana Ankudinova Диана Анкудинова... Can't Help Falling In Love | Vocal Coach Reaction/Analysis

Ойын-сауық

Welcome!
In today's video we will be revisiting Diana Ankudinova. Her impressive contralto voice, timbre and performance maturity was already impressive as heck as a young teen with 'Wicked Game' so I can't wait to break down Diana's voice in 'Can't Help Falling In Love' (Elvis) and see how her voice and performance abilities have developed over time!
If you enjoyed this video please like, sub and hit the bell (if you want to).

I am enthralled! Exceptional talent plus passionate work ethic gives you incredible performances like this. I cannot say enough how much time, effort and discipline Diana must have put in between Wicked Game and now to have developed this much while simultaneously her voice is still anatomically developing/growing/changing. P.s. I can't be the only one who also thinks the lighting and background make her look like she is conducting/channeling lightning/electricity on the stage at some points right? Kudos to the lighting/tech team as well.

I just started playing your reaction, but I’m very glad to read that you remembered where she was vocally before and you can compare it to where she is now. She has made a lot of strides technically. And she’s just growing as a performer as well and an emotive artist.

This Song was taken from here kzread.info/dash/bejne/gniW0ceKlqTZp9o.html She does have a couple of back up singers which she's talked about and the can be heard more on the Crow (which I like about 100% more than this in fact, of the nine songs she performed on this project this song was down at the bottom third at #7).

You really should go back to her performance of Rechencka..The River.. Theres a connection the musical arranger is the same for Wicked game, Rechenka This and the Crow... She has done some extraordinary stuff since she first performed Blizzard and Deniere Dance on you are super at 14.

I don't know if you watched this video to the end, but you might have missed an indicator of Diana's emotional commitment to the song : at the end, she turns away from the cameras and is dabbing at her eyes. To me, this speaks volumes about her connection to the emotional content she has been delivering.

The guy who stood up is a guest judge who is a well known Russian Opera singer who gives her so much great praise of her performance, in the videos from her account you get the competitors comments as well with translation. This is a competition show called “ShowMaskGoOn” and they gives points to each other based on performance and singing. 9 videos in all and she won this show with the highest points. All her songs are wonderful but two I think you will want to react to are “Crow” her best one out of all songs done and maybe “Personal Jesus”. Thanks for revisiting the awesome Diana, you are wonderful with your analysis, Thank you🙏🏼🌹

Yup, this is the performance that transformed my appreciation of Diana the talented young vocal artist into now seeing her as Diana, the Music Elemental. This has to be some form of high level bardic magic, and only such rare vocalists as Diana and Dimash can ever hope to ascend into that awe-inspiring inner circle of mastery, transforming the world through the power of song! 😉🥰 And if this is what Diana can do with her voice now, imagine her in ten years, assuming continued hard work and improvement!

Check out the recent reaction on Charismatic Voice (or The Charismatic Voice) to a video that is on You Tube if a lady opera singer demonstrating polyphonic singing, complete with computer screen graphic display of the overtones. This will tell what you need to know on the subject. And as Elizabeth says, yes, she is changing the he shape of her lips as well as use of other muscles to change how the overtones work. I had seen the video a month or so ago, and then after having emulated Angelina Jordan and Diana among others, I then saw her interview with Brent Smith of Shinedown, then her new reaction to the polyphonic singing video, and I was able to do the same thing as the lady on the video, probably much better than I had the first time I saw it. My control of pitch may not be at their level, but I kind of have been blowing my own mind with what I have been able to do, and I have barely started working on it. I guess I have been working on it the whole time since I first saw that video, which was after watching and emulating a number of Diana Ankudinova songs. Her tone and polyphonic abilities are truly amazing and inspiring.

GREAT reaction Julia! So glad you finally got to this one. Yes given that what you listened to from Diana before was nearly 3 years earlier in her career you are in a good position to really evaluate her growth and development. I did see some "stunned" in your facial expression at times. 😁 Interesting, I had never really considered or paid full attention to the range Diana spans on this song. Since this is a competition I'm sure it was intentional to show off her range. But I wonder if the range of the song was carefully chosen so that she could hit the extremes this arrangement required. I think you said she hit a low of C3 ... there wasn't a lot of power in that note, it might be about her lower limit so set the range there and look upward towards that B Flat 5. I agree that most of the melisma seemed effortless. Perhaps on those last couple of highest notes including that B Flat 5 she was working a bit more for, and understandably so. But I don't know if you could have slid the range of this song a note or two either direction and had her manage it. I think they picked the best key to match her ... your term for it ... functional range. This song was my first ever exposure to Diana with Charismatic Voice (a competitor, I know 😬) and I, well, couldn't help falling in love with Diana. I have gone down the rabbit hole ever since. Diana reaches me musically like no other performer has before. I can pick out specific notes she hits in songs as favorite notes! With this song it's the notes of "I can't help" in the second octave up section where she blends a little of her warmth back into the notes. A Stradivarius violin never made a more beautiful sound than Diana does on those notes.😊 Thanks again Julia for a great reaction!

That's how I see it. Longing in the first stanza with the deep voice. A bit of desperation creeps in during the second octave higher stanza. Note the drum beat that comes in the background that sounds like a heart starting to beat faster. Perhaps some pleading in the melisma section she sings. Ultimately in the final stanza Diana hits us with full blown passion with that rich deep belt.

Tommy Proffit did the original minor key version of this. But you know this is definately going to be different.. Remember her past she could be issuing an impassioned challenge. As her opening salvo 💥💥 in her first adult competition ..last on and late shes the youngest competitor by a years .. she blew the doors off to borrow from Michael Cain 😎and she left the rest of them with slack jaws and thinking 😳...Mission control we have a problem🤣😂 They in current parlance took a vocal sample and structured it like a mini fantasy Aria. Then they set Diana loose on it with all the work she has done through lockdown on developing her high range and control. Stage production values were first rate Camera, sound Costume (that image of her in front of the mid low belt should become a poster ). Set and lighting. Net result 5th Elements Diva set against Camerons planet Pandora at night in Avatar all packed into a 3.5mins format. I love the fact that Cinderella girl not only got to go to the Ball but play the stage Diva 🤩💖😇 The Bearded guest judge is a well known opera singer and producer his wife a top Russian Soprano ... he said he had never felt such raw emotional power coming from such a young artist.🤯👌🏻 There is a later performance that matches this but sees Diana back in her Earthly Shamanistic vibe thats Crow...😎👌🏻 the final one of the series is Your Own personal Jesus.. originally by Depeche Mode.🇬🇧

With her super unique voice and this song in the dark Minor Mode, ... The first thing that pop up in my mind right after first 10 seconds of her singing was ... This must be a new 007's franchise theme song !!! .... Wowww My ears even waited and expected for the "minor/major 9th Chord" ... that "spy chord" to come at the end of the song ... Hahahaha

omg i just suggested this yesterday. how funny i watched the fairy voice mother react to this the other day and it was my first time ever hearing diana, so you can imagine how stunned i was at 7:00. took me by intense surprise. she's expressing so much emotion, power and beauty in the shot at 7:23, too. the background + wind effects really help elevate the performance, it's seriously mesmerising.

There are hundreds of covers of this song and few touch me and get close to Elvis, but Diana and her coaches and musicians are smart and she makes it her own song. Diana sang this Elvis Presley song in the first episode of the 'Шоумаскгоон' (ShowMASKgoon) competition. Diana is the youngest participant (18 ys) and with her first song she tore the participants and viewers from their seats. 9 winners of the previous shows 'The Mask', 'Superstar' and 'Du bist Super' take part in this new format and they have to sing in 9 categorys: Folk-Hit, Song at the End of the 20th Century, Soviet Song, Pop-Hit, Song of your Choice, New Music, Song from Cartoon or Film, Rock-Hit, Grammy The man who jumps up is the famous opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and husband of the world-well known opera singer Anna Netrebko. He is a guest of honor and representative of the operatic genre in this first episode of the competition. Those competitors have to evaluate each other and they have praised Diana in the highest tones: “Diana has no competition on the show, she amazes with her talent, it is impossible to tear yourself away from her, you want to listen endlessly, they have tears in their eyes and are even afraid to blink”. 8 out of 9 participants (Diana cannot give herself any points) gave Diana the highest number of points (9). She won the first episode. I'm looking forward to the next episode, next saturday. * Original (dark version): Can't Help Falling in Love feat. brooke - Tommee Profitt - kzread.info/dash/bejne/gniW0ceKlqTZp9o.html

Thanks! Very exact and substantial comments! Functional range - that's right! Subscribing...
