Contralto is not a style of singing, it is a vocal type, it refers to her low dark powerful voice, polyphony is the word you are looking for, a style of singing where you project power in to your overtones making them overlap with the main fundamental of your voice creating the illusion of two voices in different registers coming out of your mouth at the same time. Diana nailed this song, it was two years ago when she performed it at the age of 18, last year she made "With a clean slate", what surprise will she have for us this new year?

Have you seen Diana Ankudinova's DUNE official soundtrack cover from last month? Diana was live on stage singing Paul's Dream from Hans Zimmers DUNE soundtrack with a full orchestra. It's epic, powerful, tribal and magnificent. It's on her official channel (she has 3 of them) Diana Ankudinova Life. She has two performances uploaded. I prefer the St Petersburg one because of more close ups...but good lord, check it out if you are a DUNE fan or a Diana fan. If you are both, it's a MUST SEE. It's almost as if we got to see her live before the Arrakis mother ship came and picked her back up.
