Absolutely love, love, LOVE this! Thank you so so so so much for this. 99% of the videos I've seen or books I've read always, always stigmatize and/or demonize cluster b pds (except for BPD sometimes). I actively deconstruct pds, but this is the first time I'm seeing a professional do so, first time I've seen someone other than people who've been diagnosed with pds themselves take an empathetic, compassionate, trauma informed perspective on PDs. So as someone who has been diagnosed with bpd and who is a psych student who's deconstructing this, thank you. I appreciate this. I'm so grateful

The lifetime of patterns that you suggest people use to survive and thrive thru traumas is spot on. You make many 💯% on target random guesses regarding learned behaviors. Would appreciate a conversation with you to answer some of your WHAT IFS. Yes head traumas can present as drug use when it is a long term CBI.

Good video. But I've heard that it is, in fact, possible to have AvPD and SAD comorbid. Also, I think I'm living proof of that because I meet all the criteria for both. Only one doesn't explain me.

And the diagnostic criteria clearly specify that if one diagnosis completely explains the condition there is no need for another diagnosis. In your case, it doesn't.

What is a distinguishing element these two? Doc how are you? My wife had repressed memories from an abusive relationship, since her memories came back, she is so traumatized now that she is afraid of even me. We are giving her space by having her stay at her mom’s house now. She has been going to therapy over 3 years but never really faced it till now. She is in therapy. It’s effecting her also where she can’t go to our sons indoor track meets because the track meets are at the collage she was in that all the trauma happened. Other than give her space and time is there anything I can do to help her feel safe? We been together 17 years and I know this is about her healing but at same time I’m hurting because I miss my wife and it hurts that she is afraid of me now
