Was hoping to see you actually take it off and put it back on

Thx for the info-- I have a '95 Roadmaster and am having trouble passing Smog w/ NOx being a little high so focusing on the EGR. At idle not warmed up I had 20 vacuum off the manifold but nothing passed the solenoid after it was warmed up and revving to at least 2000 RPM and of course the EGR didnt open. I had the solenoid off and checked it opened via a 12v battery pack before. While the engine was warm and idling I checked w/ a vacuum pump on the EGR and it wouldnt open as it would off the engine. Checking it this morning while off and cold the EGR opens via vacuum pumping it up. 🙃 Any ideas thx.

What's there a knocking noise coming from the engine because of that egr vavle not working properly?

I’m having a very hard time unloosing the nuts, not enough clearance for the wrench. Please help lol!!

my 1986 caprice stalls out randomly, i’ve replaced the battery, fuel pump and filter, plugs, wires, idle control valve, starter, have a new alternator and map sensor coming in tomorrow. do you think this could be the ultimate problem? it shakes for about 3 seconds and the oil/service engine lights come on at the same time. it always cuts right back on though.

My 96 caprice gotta p0400 code.. and started stalling when I came to a stop.. now my car doesn't wanna cut on .. I can hear it want to cut on but it'll die out... was this your problem?

@@youngjj757 it turned out to be a corroded/bad fuel pump wire. replaced it, now everything’s good.

my 89 caprice does the same but I have fuel that goes on the block ? should I replace it

Can you just delete that egr? I don't have any emission police where I'm at. Also I have an oil leak that fumes in with the heater on. Is this the rear intake manifold seal?

This is not the rear intake manifold seal. Here is a video of a pretty girl changing the manifold seals in a lt1 car kzread.info/dash/bejne/hJWNmsmhhNKtmM4.html Not worth deleting the EGR on these cars, and you can run into other issues by deleting it. One mod that is worth doing is deleting the air injection pump, as it ages it does become problematic. I guess I worded that wrong. The oil leak that is fuming into the cabin when the heater is on not the egr valve.

Usually valve cover leaks cause that sort of smoking condition, they’ll leak onto to the exhaust manifolds and when the manifolds get hot enough...BAM! Instant smoke show.

on LT1 ENG, the most important part is how to remove that nasty nut on passenger side of EGR(no room),and it's not in this video! I think if you remove fuel pressure regulator you might have better access, it might more work ,but less swearing, and busted knuckle
