question, i bought an 18 sierra 6.2 a couple months ago, it has a lunati cam, overhauled trans, converter and exhaust. the owner left in the glovebox the diablo tuner, i know the afm was disabled as the cluster shows. i would like to verify and make some adjustments in the fuel economy but in afraid it will delete to mess with the cam tune. in the past i had my trucks tuned with HP and if you throw in a hypertech or any other file it will rewrite and delete the HP. in your experience does the cam tune and the diablo parameters are completely separate files or the diablo tune also include the cam tune? sorry for the extensive write but ive had some bad experience in the past. i appreciate your input. thanks

The guy(diablew) who did his tune supposedly does pretty good work but it explicitly states on his website the below. That said i would try and find someone in your area who does tunes. maybe you'll get lucky and it will be the same place who did the work for the previous owner. "TUNING RESTRICTIONS: I do not do tuning to disable emissions-related items/parameters/codes. I do not do tuning for turbos, superchargers, medium/large/wild cams, etc. Tuning service is non-transferable! Free tune updates are non-transferable! Tune updates are for updating the current tune, for the same previously tuned vehicle, for the same original owner."

How long did you run your truck w just headers no tune

Adan Guillen for about a week. Tried to do the spark plug non foulers. Didn’t work.

Not really Throttle boost only goes up to 20%

The price difference on the this and the predator is $20 for me do you suggest just going with the I3 can you adjust throttle shifting etc just like on the predator? Thanks for your input.

Little late of a reply but yes you can adjust your throttle sensitivity your shift points etc etc pretty much nothing you can’t do on the fly but it’s always better to record some data then watch what’s going on before you make drastic changes to your fuel spark etc hope this helps someone in the future

Rafael De Lima exhaust is important when tuning. Air intake and exhaust flow. The more air the engine moves prior to tuning is best

Do intake and exhaust first. The tune will work better if it has more air and fuel to work with and a better way to expend it. I have had good runs with AFE Cold air intakes, if you want the best performance and a really mean sound from the exhaust go for a stage 2. Trust me, it will make your car sound 100x better.

sinaloacosala1 I would say if your planning on doing headers or another mod that would require a custom tune go with the intune i3. If you have an intake and exhaust go predator 2

You have to hook it back up to its original truck/vehicle snd return it to stock tune. This will unlock the tuner. Some you will have to do the same thing but instead of returning to stock you have to unlock tuner from vehicle which may be the same thing. Depends on the tuner.

Late to this so I hope you will see this what did you like best ? The predator 2 or this also what else can you do in the advanced tune ? Shift points ? Shift pressure? Torque management? And if just tune my trans with this can I still get a dyno tune from another person ?

SSclone I like the diablo intune better has the ability to receive custom tunes which you can have shift firmness adjusted as well as the torque management. But it’s all done by mail tunes from a custom tuner like diablew.

Hp tuners is the way to go. I’ll be posting a video soon on hp tuners and what to train yourself on as I’m still just a beginner. But yeah you can do wayyy more on hp but you’ll have to be pretty knowledgeable with it. No one around me who tunes will give any info or help at all with my own tuning

Don't waste your money on Diablo Tuners. I have a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 and when I programmed it for E85 Performance, my Truck began pinging, even with the slightest of pedal acceleration. I sent it back.

@@operatorgaming1669 these trucks are flex fuel. The parts on the truck are designed to run on e85. Reprogramming it should just bring up more power and different driving behaviors. Not pinging. I’ve seen reviews like that or reviews of ppl not having issues so idk.

Steve Sherlock I would love to but this tuner will no longer work with my truck.. the truck is now tuned by HP as I couldn’t not have it tuned with diablo. The tuner is still for sale

Is it worth it? Maybe if you are modifying the tune on a stock engine. Do not buy this if you are trying to data log. It is slow and the "analog inputs" would not work for me. I have been waiting for "customer service" to fix the issue for over 3 months now and they finally said "the guy that was working on that is no longer with the company and it looks like we don't sell enough of them for you vehicle for us to fix the problem" The guys at Holley are nice but don't know what they are doing and furthermore...don't seem to care.

One FREE tune??? I bought my platinum for my 2014 yesterday and talked to Lew this morning he never mentioned it. Wants $150usd for custom tune. Can you verify this...

Supermotog450x yeah you have to pay $150 for a custom tune and you get free revisions for one year, otherwise it only comes with the preloaded tunes from diablo sport. Diablew tuned my truck and its well worth it, you can totally tell the difference. Throttle response is phenomenal compared to stock.

That’s true. As I stated I purchased the tuner that came with a free tune

I bout this , says ,my engine is 34% at idle and 100% while just driving at normal speeds. The 93 octane tune didnt make a huge difference.

I am not too sure but i know for a fact it makes a much larger difference if you have a cold air intake and some sort of full flow exhaust.. i had a spectre CAI and a magnaflow muffler with the factory res and muffler gone.

Thats just a waste of money to get more & better performance a custom/dyno tune with hptuners software is alot better due to more settings way more perimeters and pickup truck gets overall hp gains not just curve gains.

Large differences but the absolute best thing to do is to get an HP tune for yours. Hp has way more parameters than Diablo to tune

If using just the canned tunes that come with the tuner I would say they’re similar. If using the customer tune features available with Diablo Intune3 those will outweigh the canned tune capabilities

@@jlpaints not many people have a 6.2 and add alot of things onto a stock 6.2 doesn't stand a chance vs custom tuned ram cold air and exhaust and even if they grab a preloaded tune cold air and muffler it's still very close and sometimes a loss for them a ram comes alive with custom tune throttle body and headers I'm running shorty headers to full exhaust to include aftermarket cats 85mm throttle body cold air and Jay green with 3.21 gears lifted on 35s on 20s and still win or hold around the bpiller of the cab Everytime......most people buy a 5.3 or a diesel facts of Life
