    This is a tips and tricks video or more like things I wish I would have known when I first started the game. This guy is not making this video to make you play his way. He's showing you his growth in the game both in performance and way of thinking. We all learn everyday from other people experience whether it's reading a book or watching a video. It's all the other person perspective of the situation at hand. There's a old saying "A wise man learns from the mistakes of others, a fool learns from his own mistakes". My thing is if you want to play a game with nobody else input, then why are you watching a tips and tricks videos in the first place. At some point we have to make this coming into the comments section bashing a content creator off of an ego trip mess make sense. If you want to play the game with no advice, then clearly this video wasn't for you. No harm no foul 💯 🎉🎉.

I just updated the video outline for the gear update. I'm editing two videos right now and as soon as those are done I'll be recording the gear video.

    Accurate info. Although, I would stress to just play the game the first time through on your own. You only get your first playthrough once, so enjoy it (whatever that means for you), because it's just never quite the same any other time. For me: following advice, builds, min/maxing, etc just distracts from the experience. The only game I've ever played where i used some guides is Path of Exhile simply due to the sheer volume of layered mechanics and it's insanely complex crafting system (only because i came into it 10 years late.. lol). Later on I use guides to discover things I didn't know, find new ways to combine things I didn't try, and find various quality of life tips and tricks I never knew.

    I personally agree with the first playthrough piece, though I do emphasize that players should play the way they enjoy the most. I stepped into POE about 10years late as well and I couldn't imagine doing it without guides or at least with friends that know what they are doing. Overall, I think you have a good approach. Also, thank you for taking the time to write it out, I really appreciate it!

    Thanks. Yeah POE is off the wall. I learned it the hard way on seasonal hardcore. 17 characters later I finally made it through the Atlas and some ubers.. then proceeded to get one shot when a flask was down with bad timing. In D3 I died to lag spikes more often than anything.. or that one random blind Teleport across a wall into a huge mob of insta-simultaneous exploding triple affix elites. Anyways, keep it up. Very informative videos you have. 👍 but like someone else mentioned, maybe take a stab at some dedicated hardcore stuff for those niche self-infuriating masochistic psychos like myself. 😂

    The biggest thing is going to be when they spawn. Just go to this link: maxroll.gg/d4/map-tool and at the top under the navigation you'll see the countdown timers. The one on the far right will say what world boss is next and how many minutes till the appear. Then below that you will see the map, type in "world boss" in the search, on the left side of the map, and it will highlight the world boss events on the map. If you are solo do not rush to world tier 4 and stay there stay wt3 do nm dungeons that you can do quickly and level as fast as possible. You get less XP but you will survive and kill faster. If you are dying every mob or taking 15 swings to kill as opposed to 3 swings you are taking 5x the time to get 2 x XP so you are actually getting less XP per hour. As soon as you hit 60 get any ancestrals n you are good for wt4 n rdy to level there. If you got lucky got aspects you need and good gear then maybe level 50 you can do wt4

  • @OwnModeGaming

    Yeah, that is solid. If you are dying constantly definitely drop a world tier it's not worth it time-wise. I usually aim to hit wt3 at about 45 and hitting wt4 at 60 seems perfect. Thanks for the great add, I appreciate it!

    @@OwnModeGaming it's great if someone can power level you but if you need your capstone done for you odds are the next WT ain't for you yet. Also pushing NM dungeons early is pointless stick with someone you can do easily if 10 lvls above you is easy it's certainly optimal but if you can only consistently clear 2 lvls higher than you quickly stay their your patience will be rewarded especially if in a group having troubles remember you gain more XP from mobs higher lvl but you gain zero XP while you're dead. however, the stat isn't related to the gear score, 925 didn't means all stat is closer to the max value. still RNG, generally, they are not useful or higher enough for going to be able to play level 100. i can play fairly enough on level 94, still haven't tried a level 100 dungeon once

    No, it just means that the higher and lower RNG are higher than lower item level items. So, if the range on an affix for a lower item level item is 7-15 it might be 12-20 for a higher item level.

    An item level 860 (your example) can def be better than 925 due to RNG. So I don't agree that you NEED 925. For something like your primary weapon for dps, yes but not others. Another example is a hota barb all the single handed weapons and two handed slashing weapon, it literally makes no difference.

  • @OwnModeGaming

    @OwnModeGaming

    2 ай бұрын

    Except the ranges on all affixes have a higher upper limits as the item level increases. That being said all affixes are rng and could roll the lower end of the range. So, if a 925 has an affix on it that rolls the lower end of its range, then an 860 rolls the top end of its range that stat could be higher, but if a 925 rolls it’s max then the 860 can’t match it.

  • @OwnModeGaming

    @OwnModeGaming right my point being you can have a higher rng roll 860 than a lower rng roll 925. If you only look for 925 I think you could be missing a lot of good stuff. Albeit saving a lot of sanity/time

  • @OwnModeGaming

    @OwnModeGaming

    @@theroachmotel Totally agree. I was for the longest time a completionist, which is a totally valid way to play as long as you enjoy it. I just found that sometimes checking every item cost me so much extra time that if it was better to find a more targeted strategy, then I could get what I ultimately wanted faster. So, in this case I'm trying to min/max for endgame, so I want to shoot for the items that are most likely to get me there. Then you add the resources for upgrading and enchanting, so if you save those material only for items that have even a chance at the highest range, then I just shoot for those. That's how I got there. I might be passing up smaller improvements but in most runs I end up with a set of ancestrals between 820-870 as my first set and then replace all those with 925 as soon as I can. Also, I really appreciate the comments. I enjoy people that are excited about the games they play, so thank you!

    @@OwnModeGaming You're not completely true here. Most of gear affixes have tiers. For example, crit chance range will be the same for 925 and 880 item level. I didn't remember where top tier starts, I think it's around item level 860. There are few exceptions for this. First, damage for weapons and armor for gear are increasing with item level without tiers. It's only important for weapons, as all damage modifiers scales from base weapon damage. Several more points in armor didn't make much difference. Second, there are few affixes that doesn't have tiers, but mostly not important ones like Thorns. Long story short: only items that really must me 925 is your weapon with which you deal damage.

Just jumped in and did them easily. Edit: I should mention the jump from Nightmare to Torment is FAR more difficult than from Normal to Nightmare. I had to completely respec my character immediately after jumping into Torment for the first time. So not completely pointless, just specifically the Capstones aren't hard. Edit 2: your tip about not collecting all aspects is about to become very outdated lol S4 is making huuuuuuge changes to the way the Codex of Power and extracting Aspects work. You're probably going to want to collect them all in preparation for that.

    Love hearing your take, my friend. I also don't believe that the capstones are hard. Especially, if you are going in at the levels they recommend but can get far more difficult the lower the level you enter. The build can definitely affect this. Lightning ball Sorc had not problem going in 10 levels early for capstone 1 and 20+ levels for capstone 2. As for the outdated, that is just the nature of doing tip based KZread videos. Sometimes a video only lasts a week and other times it will last months. My plan is to do an update video video next season when I have enough testing in to do it justice. Next Season is going to be awesome! Did you play any of the PTR?

    "if your trying to play the game yourself instead of letting someone else play it and learn all the information and copy it your wasting your time" 😂 why would you do it yourself and learn how to actually play when you can copy what somebody that's better than you that has more time to spend on it... At that point why not just not even download the game you can just watch KZread videos of other people playing it. Boom now your perfect at it and never even had to play it 🤷

    Ultimately, I believe people can play however they want. If you want to play a game without any outside input, then enjoy. If other people want to check out videos and get pointers, then they can do that and, yes, there is even a fairly large group of people that just watch others play. I think we need to get to a point where our way of playing is not something we need to defend and that we don't have to criticize if others want to do it differently. This was all supposed to be for fun and we have made it so combative. I do also want to say I appreciate you leaving a detailed comment of your thoughts, so much better than the person that just posts a slur and runs 🙂

    @@OwnModeGaming oh I'm not trying to attack anyone's preferred way of playing just the way I Heard and perceived what was said just seems like "if your not doing this then you're not doing it right" that's just the way I seen only what you said I'm not here to criticize I enjoy looking at others input on games and applying it to my own gameplay as well but I also think you shouldn't just be able to copy a build to make you better in game than you actually are skill wise if that makes Sense just seems to make the pool of people that are actually "great" bc they put the time in to actually understand how everything works and apply there own thinking to the process instead of just download never get good and just take someone else's complete build even down to the aspects gems and such and now my hundreds sometimes thousands of hours just for you to match it with zero actually effort on your part. You see what I mean? I'm not here to bash anyone's welcome to do it however they like it just seems like "pay to win" type scenarios

    Personally, I prefer to take my time at the start of a game, learn what my character can do, learn how I can alter their playstyles to fit my preferences, and I take very, very little outside input because the first playthrough is something very personal to me. Very rarely do I share that experience, and only with a very few select number of people, i.e. Elden Ring with my best friend, the one and only time I have done co-op on my first playthru of a Souls game, or MH Rise with multiple friends, but even then I usually tried hunting a monster at least once before doing it co-op. Once my first playthrough is complete as thoroughly as I can by myself, then I'll start looking up build guides, secrets, etc.

    Right my thing though honestly isn't that I don't think anybody should look up tips and stuff to get better I just don't think you should be able to just copy a load out and go point by point through other people's specs just to be given the easy W bc at that point that's all your doing and it makes it worth less to the people that do it on there own that actually put in the time effort research and actual play skills when I put 10,000 hours in a game to get to the point I'm at and you get there in 30 hours only bc your copying what it took thousands of hours for me to learn bc I did it the hard way ya know it's like looking at a self made millionaire and comparing them to someone Born into millions

    @@Eazyaz1234 I don't necessarily agree that it makes it pointless for people to figure stuff out themselves. I see this controversy a lot in Yugioh too. The meta players think the only way to play is to copy/paste the best decks, and the casuals think that meta builds are ruining the game. In both fandoms, people need to realize that we can have both. There can be people like you and me who try to figure everything out ourselves, and that is valuable to us. And there can be people who look up meta builds while their game is still downloading, and that's fine too. At the end of the day, it's people like you and me who discover the OP shit, or we find tweaks to the OP shit that is just as viable. Without us, the meta wouldn't even exist.
