Really good guide. For complete beginners this is exactly how a guide should look like. Keep up the good work

Agreed. My favorite part is going over the runewords, since there are just so many that new players would have to comb through, not knowing which runes are harder to come by.
The long-awaited, highly requested paladin guide is here! Forgive my commentary, I made this while very tired. On a final note, you don't have to go hammers at 18, you can wait a few levels before doing so since holy fire is super good in normal especially since some players may find the hammer playstyle and mana cost frustrating right at 18. Also make sure to use Concentration Aura with your hammers for the damage.

what do you think about avengers? I personally liked the idea quite a lot because it has a similar killpower, although in single target melee, to hammers. Also pretty good for multiplayer parties as you use a lot of lower resist auras

@@juxyper I like the idea of Avenger because it's a niche underdog build that's actually doable, but I wouldn't play one outside of say, making a video on it for the viewers. If the game had melee splash like some of the mods I would like melee more lol.

Thank you, been waiting for this one!
I love how u added so much detail gearing up in the acts. Helped me a lot. Thanks.
I love these guides. They perfectly fill current gap in existing content between build guides for salty veterans and folks returning after 20 years. Thanks
This is by far the most complete guide for new players like me... finally someone that goes through the basics (which gear is best since the early levels and whatnot). Thanks a lot!
This was so helpful! I was a pretty dedicated player like 20 fricken years ago lol. I'd almost forgot how layered this game was. thanks for the refresh and the new insight :)
This was extremely helpful. This allowed me to push through Act 2 in Hell difficulty as I was getting stuck with my Zealadin. Now my Mercenary has a lot more survivability than he did before!
Thank you for not taking 5 hours to explain each build. I wish more people would get to the point quickly as you did in this video.
Thanks man I use to play this 20 years ago but forgot everything. I started off with a sorc but did not really like her to much. I wanted to play a Paladin but alot of the guilds are just about the end game and farming. I saw your video and have been using all the info and pasted my sorc in 1/2 the time played. Just hit nightmare everything doing great... thanks for all the work on this guild,
Looking forward to your next class builds! You are a fantastic teacher. I have been trying to learn with D2R coming out in 10 or so days. I've relearned a lot from your videos! Thanks for the great content!!!
Unlike so very many, this is a great guide. While many guides tell you what to do as if you already know what to do, you keep it simple and understandable without dumbing it down. Thank you! My only suggestion would be more time stamps. For instance, if I were to come here looking for specifics on runewords and when to craft them for each build, I'd get frustrated pretty quick without some additional time stamps to point me to those kinds of specifics.
Thanks for all the "hard work" (play testing a Uber god char). Very thorough and easy to follow.
YOU'RE SIMPLY THE BEST! Over the past few days, I was literally checking KZread every couple hours. Splendid work!

YESYESYES! I was waiting for this so bad! Thank you Nexius :)
Best guides around congrats and thanks for helping in such useful way
Hell of a guide man, really appreciate it.
I'd like to add that after 7 hard points in Blessed Hammer, the synergies will do more damage. I recommend maxing out concentration (+15 percent each level) then vigor, and finally blessed aim. After all those synergies are maxed, then choose Blessed Hammer. This will allow you to use lower mana cost and progress faster. Yes I looked at the individual skill points lol
Good guide overall. If you are going to do hammerdin which is probably a good build for first time players, you need at least 1 of 2 items before you respec. Spirit crystal sword as he described, or insight on your merc. Honestly, the insight is a bigger deal than spirit as only having the spirit sword and not insight will still have you burning mana potions casting hammers. Having insight on your merc, you can pretty much spam hammers but it will be slow going. Having the spirit sword will speed up the hammers. Having dual spirit and insight, you will be able to continuously spam hammers till the cows come home. Also, for first timers, I would respec probably after you do maggot lair in nightmare. You can teleport past everything, but recharging the staff is expensive. You CAN hammer through maggot lair, but just go slow. Another thing he doesn't mention, is walking is best since running puts a big penalty to your blocking and defense. You have vigor that will make you run almost as fast and charge as often as you want if you have dual spirit / insight.
Thx For the guide. I was playing D2 as a kid, and finishing act 1 took me ages haha. With your guide I’ve killed Duriel on the 1st try in few seconds lol. It’s almost too easy now :(
Your videos are pretty informative! Keep it up!
Love these guides. You do an excellent job explaining everything. When will Assassin builds come out?

This guide is the only reason i didnt rage quit diablo 2 resurrected. Tried playing my favorite classes and could not get past duriel no matter what i did (want my first clear to be solo) Built a hammerdin following your guide and raced through the content and was able to set up future characters with much needed gear. 10/10 guide and i do not say that lightly. Keep up the great work man will definitely be checking out your content from now on.

Another thing one can do on baal waves is to stay just far enough into room they'll teleport in. run outside the room and a ways away till they stop following. go back to the entrance of room and walk forward one tile at a time pausing a couple seconds each time. eventually you'll reach agro range and it will pull just one or two at a time then repeat till group is down.

Idk about respec-ing so soon from zealot to hammer. Mana is a huge problem early in the hammer build. I would wait until you craft spirit in at least 1 hand as it gives a huge boost to mana

haven't had any problems, just fill up three slots of your belt with potions and keep filling it up, when you have spirit (basically past normal) it's as you suggest, also you can add in redemption at the earliest convenience to convert corpses to mana. super useful against cows

Good stuff
With all the different auras do you have to keep swapping between them. Excellent guide, subscribed.
Love this guide, level 22 and yet to switch to Hammerdin and still owning every baddie almost done with Act 2. Thank you for this.
GJ Man, thx:)
Gave this one a try and not sure how it feels yet tbh. Considering how talked about Hammerdin is, during a playthrough it feels awkward. More mana thirsty than my Sorceress, awkward to aim, and while Hammers feel amazing when they go right they are a lot more awkward to aim than other casters. Might just be an awkward spot in the leveling, so I might recommend waiting to respec until a bit higher as Zealer feels all around better. Only in Act 3 of Normal though so maybe it will get past the growing pains soon
Excellent guide, however it’s better to max out resist fire rather than holy fire since resist fire gives more dmg boost to holy fire, than holy fire itself.
this guide got me through pally hammerdin. I beat it. Can you do a guide for ubers?
Thank you sir
Damn it I'm still undecided to sorc, pally or druid to start my D2R. Even necro is tempting. xD Love those guides ! Those leveling process I can screenshot while I'll be playing is real nice since I stopped playing D2 years ago.

Great guide! But i have question. Your base strenght stays on 41 thru the end (99 lvl)? All points sholud be investet n vitality from lvl 14?
The holy fire Paladin is super man with Raven bow lol.
This has been incredibly helpful. I have a level 35 paladin (working on hammerdin build) and just lost a great mace and shield in a battle to Baal (totally not paying attention and let my item durabilities fall to 0). This has dropped my attack rating in half. Any chance you could share a tip on the most efficient way to find decent replaceable items? Would it just be to farm chipped gems and reroll something till I get a decent mace or scepter that has some good blessed hammer benefits?
@TheSixStringGuy

Just repair the items at the blacksmith
Thank you, I will use this guide!
Please explain equipment approach. Do i understand correctly that you are preparing main equipment in the middle of act 1 and stick with it till the end of the game ? Thus you end up charging on Diablo wearing skull cap, leather armor and small shield instead of full plate shiny armor ? Is rune enhanced equipment so good that those tons of stuff you will find later in the game does not matter ? How is so ? Upgrading your equipment along the way is the biggest reward for everyone playing RPG games so it feels wrong (or cheating) to gather the best at the very beginning. Or do you upgrade along the way and put the same rune word in better armor ? Does armor level, armor stats even matter ?
No guide on the internet seems to think mana is an issue with early hammerdin. I was cruising along as a holy fire zealot and respec’d to hammerdin at level 24 and i was finding mana a HUGE issue. I was blowing through potions and struggling to kill enemies bc of mana. I just dont get how im the only one who has this issue, it makes no sense to me

Insight runeword on merc. Until that point get gear with +mana or +energy and chugga chugga potions
the +1 redemption before hell is a godsend. the few guides I've been checking myself to make my own build had no redemption or holy shield whatsoever and it's just a huge waste of potential. you can farm cows like three times as fast because you're not constantly looking around for potions one cool d2r quirk with charge is that you can enable quickcasting and hold down the charge button. you will fly all over the place and immediately be able to cast hammers when you stop
If Blizzard would add splash dmg to melee attacks (like pd2 does), all physical melee builts would be so nice and viable to play :( Because it is so fun to play zealer etc. but the clear speed in d2 or d2r is insane slow :(
Shoud add that running lowers defence and block rating. Had to learn it the hard way in hell^^

For a zealot is it better to have plus to offensive auras or combat skills for gear?
What item should I add sockets to for a level 35 palidin?
At the 25 min mark, what shield is that?
