My parents and sister had diabetes...the skin conditions mentioned manifested to them before they passed...my sister even had her right leg amputated due to a wound in her big toe that got infected that led to her amputation. Diabetes runs in my family from both sides (mom and dad)... thats why im very much careful with carb and sugar intake...

Overall, the article provides a wealth of information and resources for individuals with Type 2 diabetes and their healthcare providers. In addition to the treatment options and management strategies outlined in the article, supplements like gluconize may be a helpful addition to a comprehensive diabetes management plan. However, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional before adding any new supplement or medication to your treatment plan.

Not a truly diabetic diet. If you are a diabetic in reality your diet should consist of meats, seafoods, fats(eggs, butter, cheese, nuts, seeds, animal fats), low carb vegetables. What you should not eat is fruit(way too high in sugar and fructose), grains(including whole grains), potatoes, corn, rice, beans. The thing is doctors are focused on keeping your blood sugar levels stable so they can prescribe a steady amount of insulin. In reality you should be focused on keeping your blood sugar as low as possible. Things like whole grains cause a slow increase in glucose but in reality over time you still have to deal with the same amount of glucose just not a sudden spike. The difference in diet may make a difference in how much and even if you require insulin. If you are being treated for diabetes always check with your doctor before making any dietary changes because insulin requirements will likely change.

When I was diagnosed type 2 5 yrs ago, was surprised my dietician said eat as much eggs, bacon and red meat I wanted. For years we heard these foods were bad. Avoiding carbs (esp sugar products) eating right, snacking on nuts, losing 10 lbs, and daily exercise dropped my A1c from 12 to 5.6 in 3 months with NO insulin.

Recently diagnosed, within in the last two years (type 2). From the research I have done, unlike cancer or other type of diseases that you can have a chance beating, no matter what you do, once you have diabetes you can not beat it. For the folks that can do all the measuring, and preparing etc. have the most respect possible from me To me its just far to much work and annoyance. I saw a nutritionist who gave super good advice of what substitutions could be and what can be ordered at restaurants. Clearly, the substitutions, for me are horrific. I just stopped eating those things and didn't substitute anything for it, just cut it out completely. I am not saying this is for everyone, but for me it was a mindset change. I view food strictly as medication, and I do not put myself in a situation were I might have something I am not supposed to. I never go to a restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. My wife gives me a heads up when our friends or family's are finishing up an I cruise in for coffee. Same goes for holidays or standard dinner parties. Obviously, If the restaurant is far away I do not make my wife go alone, I just hang back in the car till she texts me it's coffee time. What I have going on, is a whole lot of not her problem, and I really do not want her to miss anything, and she doesn't. I only eat grilled chicken and salad with vinegar and oil dressing for every meal (lunch and dinner), everyday. I am able to do that because my mindset views food strictly as medication. For me to go to a restaurant and order something I really do not want and have to pay for it, on top of it, is just not worth the stress for me. Yea, it took about 3 months for our friends and family to get it, but now it phases nobody and I can still do everything after the meal. Probably, in the best shape of my life, down to what I weighed in high school and I am in my 60's. Just less stressful for me not to have to research an do calculations every time I have to eat. Clearly I get that for 90% of people couldn't do this, but for me it was the only way.

Whole grains are not good for diabetics as they raise blood sugar levels... Rather it should be said to be relatively less bad as compared to refined grains, but that doesn't make it good. Surprisingly, even after you mentioned that High Fat Low Carb helps reducing diabetes, but good saturated fats like Cheese, Ghee, Butter and Red meats are surprisingly left out in the list

Diabetes & Hypertension are the most common diseases in Cambodia. Incredibly, a lot of youths become diabetics from 30 year of age. Standard hospitals exist only in the city. Many people don't know what is high blood pressure. They prefer traditional remedies rather than going to hospital. They trust ancient remedies that made from plants, animals, alcohol, wildlife bone, wildlife blood etc.
