点心 Dim Sum | Butterworks

Музыка

Having lost her job during the global pandemic COVID-19, Sandra battles hard with her emotions with job hunting and managing her parents' expectations. Being unemployed, she takes on the responsibility to take care of her dementia grandma, bringing her daily supplies and taking care of her meals. Seeing how her grandma's dementia deteriorate during the circuit breaker, facing the four walls at home alone every day, she decides to motivate her by making their favourite dim sum, a sweet memory that her grandma will love to relive...

I've been watching butterworks since primary school year 4...I was 10 yr old that time and it was one of my darkest time during that so butterworks really got me through alot of darkness but as time goes by eventually I started to become more busy in studies and life so I then I stopped watching butterworks for some time until now I'm 18... I decided to search for butterworks channel and clicked in this video... It made me realize how far I've made and what kind of a person I became atleast for now and it really touched me. life is still hard here but I believe its a part of growing up. To everyone out there I hope things will get better for you...ofcourse there are times when u feel like giving up but I want you to think of where u started and see how far you've made it.

Thank you for reminding me of my grandma in Malaysia. We used to go back every year to visit, and would also make some cakes/kueh together from time to time. The cantonese in this makes this even more relatable. Thank you for such a great short. 🧡

Thank you guys for producing this great work. I agree with you, there might be a person who 点心 (lights/ warms our heart) when we were in need, and when we have the ability to help others, we should give this goodness to the people who are lacking in the darkness alone

Heart-warming story...remember how they (grandparents) used to love us so much so that we don't forget to love them as much now (that they are old and demented).

There are 2 sides of the coin to this pandemic with all demographics and populations being affected just as greatly. From the video, we can see that for the working class adults it was the loss of livelihood, for the elderly it was the loss of social activity and increase in sedentary activity that led to the progression of her dementia and depression, and even for the kids it was the loss of a normal childhood growing up. However, if we analyse it from a different perspective, the pandemic has also forced everyone to take a short break from life and just enjoy their time at home with their family members (well except for the hcw of course 😢)
