Sergeant Doakes was the greatest thing about Dexter and a perfect counter to Dexter. Was a crime to kill him off as early as they did. If he came back I'd smile for a week.

I like how the new season juxtaposes the old seasons in setting. He went from ever present heat, sweat and year round tan to frigid cold and snow

Seems much darker than the original and I like the change of scenery. Florida is not creepy like the north can be. More gothic.

All depends on the profit it makes for showtime. Even with just the trailer i could see 3-4 seasons and have a chance to end it right. Im exited. I can already see a season one cliffhanger finale where we meet his son and make us wait 10 months to see season 2 and I wouldnt be disappointed.

Watching the first 8 seasons for the 10th time in preparation for the new season! Can't wait!!!

Got to see a little of the filming, live a short drive away from the town shown in this trailer. I'd never seen the show before but now I am catching up! Same town as the one used in Robert Downey Jr.'s movie "The Judge".

The best that Showtime did was bring back Dexter because everyone has a lil Dexter in them...

@@ramonaweston791 I rewatched some of it last year when announced the new series. I can’t get past season 7. There are elements I liked in each season. Edward James Olmos is always a treat to watch. Ray Stevenson is always great. But the series always falls apart for me.

I have done many re-watches of certain shows.. all the star trek series(more than I care to admit to random people online haha) Stargate, always sunny, archer, home movies (absolute classic adult swim show by the same guy who makes bob's burgers.. better than bob's, too..) (mostly.nist comfort shows that have little to no linear story, so they're great to re-watch to pass out to) ..but I digress haha..shows like Dexter, however, I try my best to resist the temptation of rewatching for a long time, until I have forgotten 70%+ of it.. . Thusly, I'm able to enjoy the intensity of not remembering much of what comes next, etc.. I was successful here, so it's now been 7 years since I've watched it last. .I'm thoroughly enjoying watching again, having very little memory of most things that happen. Was tempted a number of times over the past 7 years, but it was well worth it, now. I lost enough memory of it that despite knowing that it was one of the best shows of the last 15+ years, I am still completely blown away by the fact it's far better than I even remembered.

Omg I can't wait. I'm gonna watch the series from the beginning right now! 😁

I personally didn't have problem with how season 8 ended, it made it possible for everyone to get their favorite vigilante serial killer back; people need to remember that everything happens for a reason that we don't always see until later on down the line this is a prime example of that and I personally cannot wait for November 7th!

It's a miniseries, so it'll hopefully be the satisfying end to the story we wished for back in 2013. (Then again, The Young Pope miniseries was followed by The New Pope miniseries, so anything is possible.)

The reason it took so long for Dexter to come back, is because Michael C. Hall always said, since the show ended, that if he ever decided to come back and do a 9th season, the storyline, and the script, had to be right. He said there were storylines that were presented to him over the years, but he never found them worthy of coming back. He said THIS storyline, and this script was right. He said this is a storyline that is worth telling. Plus, original showrunner, Clyde Phillips, is back for this season! He was the showrunner for seasons 1 through 4, so this new season should be amazing since he is a part of it. In my opinion, the first 4 seasons were the best. After Trinity, it just started to go downhill, gradually. It was like they were forcing the show to continue. Anyway, I am super excited, and if this storyline was good enough for Michael C. Hall to come back and reprise his role as Dexter Morgan, then I am going to trust his instinct, and assume it will be worth watching! (And worth paying $10.99 a month for the Showtime channel! Lol!)

just rewatched 1-8 seasons. What a great show it was. New blood can't be compared to the original series. Plot, Acting, humour. Only Michael C. Hall performed on his high level as usual.

We can hope they make up for the terrible ending to the show, but this honestly looks more like a spin-off than a sequel.

It’s a little of both the show is not picking up right where s8 left it’s supposed to the same amount of time between this new season and s8 like since dexter ended till now. So like a ten year gap between the two. But they had better make up for s8. Just went to far off the edge kinda like GOT did in s8

Jimbo Lindsey, If I recall, the Lindsey comes from the writer of the book series the show is based off. With this trailer, we get more of a feel for the story and that he isn’t moving back to Miami, and it seems like the show is expanding on where the show left off with new characters which is a good thing.
