    *I was able to use the stop to cut my pieces all the same **MyBest.Tools** Only let the blade come to a complete stop before lifting it back up otherwise it might 'catch' the work and inadvertently move the stop. Used a second clamp for holding.*

    Great Video. I'm actually thinking about buying this as I'm currently learning Carpentry/Joinery in College and I could use this to cut the timber down in my house so I can practice my joints. I've also got a black and decker workbench which is the workmate plus. This has definitely helped me out. Thanks mate.

Those workbenches are brilliant too, grab some sawhorses too if you can, that way you can have a bigger workstation that can be packed away. Good luck on your course bud Kind regards Minhass

    @cclow9494 Жыл бұрын

    Good informative review. The DWS774 permits clamping on right hand side as well as left hand side. I presume the DWS773 model has the same base so right hand clamping should be possible. Right hand clsmping is useful on bevel cuts as the clamp fouls the saw when tilting the saw to the left. Also note that clamping the workpiece to the handle has a tendency to uplift the workpiece so best clamping down to the solid metal base and not the handle.

    Hi Dave, thanks for watching and commenting. To be honest as a beginner I didn’t really consider the trench cut facility. A screwfix voucher persuaded me as I saved a further £20 on purchase. Outstanding review, subscribed 👍 What projects have you used this for since? Have you run into any situations where you needed a larger blade? It seems like big brand saws with 10 inch blades are usually much more expensive than this. Any issues lining up cuts? I saw the DWS774 sells for about £50 more, think only difference is the XPS feature that works like a laser guide.

    Hi Robert, Thank you for watching, commenting and subscribing. I got this one as I had a £20 screwfix voucher, was £180. It’s absolutely amazing, used to cut table legs, make a frame for a small outdoor storage shed and a dining bench. No issues at all. I’ve lubed the blade a little to reduce burn on end of boards. I went for DeWalt as I wanted something that would never need replacing (fingers crossed) as well as building up a dewalt collection. Thanks again, Regards Minhass 👊🏽

    I know it says the maximum depth of cut is 62mm (x 250mm wide), but would it be possible to cut a 70 x 70mm? IOW, can you steal of few extra mm on a narrower piece?

  • @TheCustomCarpenter

    @TheCustomCarpenter

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Keith, thanks for watching and glad you liked it, much appreciated. Dust collection was amazing for the first few days of using it (most likely because it was new and fresh ). Depending on how long you use it for, saw dust collects in grooves and gaps and reduces extraction slightly, I normally remove the vacuum and give it a clean then it’s good as gold. I use a Titan 30L shop vac think it was around £30. Kind regards Minhass

    Hi, Best way would be to lay it flat and slide it over to 45 for corners. If the skirting isn’t too tall then you may be able to stand it up and use the sliding bevel for cuts.

    Really, tighten the clamp onto the frame not the handle, 24.23 minutes in, move the clamp to the other side and clamp your work to the frame. Your causing it to lift. besides that mate, thanks for the vid.

  • @grahamstretch6863
    @grahamstretch68632 жыл бұрын

    You need to put the clamp over the aluminium bed, not over the unsupported plastic handle, then the board wouldn’t be lifting as you tighten the clamp, that is why they put 2 holes in the clamp arm!
