@@thesmallworkshopadventures7522 My understanding is that Ridgid is not sold in the UK. It has a lifetime warranty but is less expensive than DeWalt. DeWalts are great tools and I own a Dewalt corded drill. Just too expensive for me.

Love the cordless gear I have the equivalent makita cordless saw. Hardly use the corded makita saw any more just keep an old blade in it for rough stuff. Better safety with out a cord as well. You probably flipped though the manual by now but I thought I saw a spanner for changing the blade under the battery. I have relatives in uk and hospitalisation are going up stay safe take care. Went for this model instead of the 165mm. I like to rip plywood with a straight edge and the 165mm with the motor on the right hand side feels like it’s designed for left handed people.

Just bought this saw and saw you use a adjustable spanner that will round the corners off It comes with its own spanner at the back

It’s a flat spanner, not an Allen key. This is supplied with the saw and sits in a slot under the battery. It cannot be removed with a battery installed, which is a great passive safety feature.

I have the smaller Dewalt 18v 165mm. Works really well used with a speed square. Always feels very much safer than with my older 240v corded saws. Great for CLS and cladding work.

Nice saw. I have used it a fair bit for making hand held cuts. But I have noticed that the show is not parallel to the blade. In fact it is out by about 1/8". This is not a problem when making freehand cuts but becomes a problem when trying to make cuts relative to the shoe using a guide of some kind. I have checked the dewalt web site for support, but they want all your personal information down to your 5th cousin on your mother's sides birthday. What for? I just want to know if this thing can be straightened or whether it is just a cheap piece of junk? Arrg. Frustrated customer.

I agree with you . It is out when using a temporary fence or guide. I’ve run into this problem a couple of times. I now only use it for freehand cuts .

You did not reveal: The front of the sole plate has a guide notch….but it is 2mm out. If you follow a pencil line with it, your workpiece will be 2mm wider than expected. This is poor design for a professional level tool. Otherwise it is very good.
