That is a HORRIBLE CUT

You got a good deal.. homedepot was clearly out dewalts mowers like i said they would. Its a ok mower. The handels got me after a wile wished they were not as big. But it gets it... good job.

This unit has been around for at least 2 decades under different names with minor differences between them. There are a lot of guys who hate this mower but I really liked the Cub version I had. It excelled at cutting thick high grass using the side discharge. It would really power through anything better than any residential mower I have ever had bar none. By all accounts no one version was really any better than others from what I know. They all had a boat load of cutting power, they sucked at bagging and mulching was fair as long as you had a sharp blade and the grass was dry and not too long. They have had some quirky issues here and there but I had outstanding luck with mine. If your looking for a wide side discharge type cut and maybe don't want a tractor, this is certainly a contender. If someone is starting a small business, this can take a beating for quite awhile. Good luck with it!

I agree with you, and I do like this mower. We have 3/4 acre lawn, and prior to this had the Toro Timemaster which you referenced. As you said, the Timemaster had several issues. I did not get the deal you did on the Dewalt, but I think I got what I paid for. My issues were with the shoot (too long so I cut it down a few inches). Even after cutting it down I would hit things with it enough so the somewhat soft plastic broke on one side. I used a black epoxy to make it better. The shifter (was super loose when I got it, and was not easy to re-tighten w/o disassembling some things), and it's mulching abilities (The removable plug does not completely cover the shoot opening, and not sure how the shoot's force can keep it on there good?) So, I don't use the plug. I may search out getting mulching blades for it so I can mulch if I want.

Boom Shacka Lacka $1100!! He'll Yeah!! At your 5 lawns a week you'll have it paid off in 5 weeks at the most. Def. less than that cause I'm confident you're gonna get more lawns!! Now just my 2 cents cause I never wanna offer bad advice. My 32 Metro has a 12.5 hp. Kawi on it & I ran it 2 times ever with a Velky. I didn't like it. Just my 2 cents. is this overkill for a homeowner with a large-ish corner lot? I currently have a year old Honda HRX and it is not lifting the grass all of the way and leaving a streak of high cut grass behind me. Ready to ditch it, just not sure what for.
