Dew Drop Spiral Rope from Jill Wiseman's Beautiful Beaded Ropes Book

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

We all love spiral ropes, but sometimes you want to change things up a bit! This project, taken from my book, Jill Wiseman's Beautiful Beaded Ropes, combines spiral rope with peyote stitch to make a unique variation.

    I made this necklace with the directions from your book. I made it quite a lot longer than you did, and it is beautiful that way too. I really like the way your teaching has changed my down time. Thanks for being such a good teacher.

    Thank you Jill, this looks like fun. I've tried the regular spiral rope from one of your other videos and it remains my daughter's favorite of all the bracelets I've made (and I have made a lot). So, this will be interesting to try as I love to do peyote as well. Thanks again and I look forward to your next video.

    I am finding it impossible to keep the accent beads on the outside of the loop. They flip with the 9 base row beads and those end up on the outside. I have Jill's book and I really want to make this. Anyone have success with this?

    Hi Jill I started this project and I have never done a rope or spiral or anything so when I got to the end of the video I had that one little piece do I need to buy the book to finish or can I watch another video to help me out ???? Thanks I really am excited about this bracelet even though I probably should have done a spiral or peyote first lol Thanks for any help you can give me :D

    What bead thread do you recommend? Is fireline 6lb ok. And what size bead works better for making the peyote. I'm using your book and video. Thank Jill. My cab needs a spiral rope that will have a little pop.

  • @JillWisemanDesigns

    Sandra Dellano Yes, I use Fireline 6lb for this. You should use a size 11 for the peyote part of the loop.

    If I want to do a 16 inch necklace just like the one you did in this video, how much thread should I expect to use? I always seem not to measure correctly then near the end it seems impossible to add thread! Could you do a quick video about thread and learning how to correctly measure before starting a project?

  • @JillWisemanDesigns

    @JillWisemanDesigns

    9 жыл бұрын

    Tannaz Rouhani You will have to add thread as you go along. There's no way you can make a necklace with a single length of thread. I have tips on how to end and add thread in a spiral rope in this video - I've even forwarded through the video to the correct spot for you: kzread.info/dash/bejne/jGqKrdV9gZSrfbw.html#t=366

    Jill Wiseman Why do the light beads look bigger than the darker if they're both sz 11? Also, would it be a bad idea to use clear beads for the spine?

  • @JillWisemanDesigns

    @JillWisemanDesigns

    9 жыл бұрын

    The light colors look bigger due to the way our eyes process color - dark colors recede and light colors jump out at us. I'm not sure about clear beads for the spine - you'd see your thread through the bead - if you like the look, go for it!
